Tuesday night opens up another chapter in the prolonged story of Gameweek 24 with a pair of Premier League fixtures. United arrive at Bloomfield Road looking to extend their lead at the top of the table, while at the DW Stadium, Gerard Houllier will be looking to build on the 1-0 win over City at the weekend by getting one over on struggling Wigan on their home turf.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open, ready to capture your latest joys and woes as the Gameweek continues to unfold.

After much speculation this evening, the team news is in and both Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney (playing wide left) start at Blackpool. It’s another strong lineup from Alex Ferguson with Rafael returning from his suspension to replace John O’Shea at right-back, while Chris Smalling continues to deputise for groin-injury victim and Tweeter extraordinaire, Rio Ferdinand. Darron Gibson and Paul Scholes are drafted into midfield for Ryan Giggs and the stricken Michael Carrick. As for Ian Holloway’s side, the headline news is that wantaway skipper Charlie Adam starts, whilst DJ Campbell returns up front and Richard Kingson recovers from a head injury to take his place in goal.

Roberto Martinez makes changes after the polite showing at the Emirates at the weekend. It’s drastic measures, as James McCarthy returns after a three-month absence to take his place in midfield. Franco Di Santo lends his weight to the attack, whilst James McAurther comes into the middle, with Ronnie Stam, Ben Watson and Mohamed Diame making way. Reports of the latter being subject of transfer enquiry from Wigan’s tourist information board have so far been denied by the Latics boss.

As for Villa, they surprisingly change a winning side, handing a debut to new signing Jean Makoun in midfield, with Nigel Reo Coker returning alongside him. The unfortunate Marc Albrighton and club skipper Stiliyan Petrov, drop to the bench. Nathan Baker gets a start at left-back – presumably because Ciaran Clark has suffered an injury or illness. More on that, hopefully, in the Scout Notes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Best. Gameweek. Ever...
And I've still got Hangeland and Kelly to play.
A 0-0 draw tomorrow would be lovely and only two changes to make to have seven playing in gw27.
I love it when a WC comes together.

gutted i could've picked roon or berba this week and went for roon as i was worried berba might not play both games or just get 60 mins in each. Sure ther'e lots of other people who made the same choice, just thought sharing might make me feel better about it............it didn't

I was cursing myself for not spending 4 to get Mereiles/Dempsey because I couldn't make a decision on which one. It kind of a pales to insignificance when I look at my Rooney->Drogba when I could have got Berbs. Mark said to me he only had Berbs because thats all he could afford, in fact I think he said it on the podcast. He got lucky. I just thought that Rooney would be the main man this week, got it wrong.

Rooney was excellent at home to Brum- he may have been a bit off colour tonight but he is still bringing a lot to the team.......

He's been good in a couple of home games playing for the best side in the league, that's not good enough.

Obviously there are different expectations on Rooney because of his reputation as a world class player but I can't even find the words to describe how poor I think he's been in general this season.

            Bloody Anderson is better.

jaysus, I naively always thought that Keysy was a really good natured and timid man, how wrong was I?! I know it was just banter, but he seems a bit evil when he jokes, like there is real agenda in it, could always tell himself and Redknapp don't really like each other, Sky are going to town, dragging him through the mud, nice big settlement for Keysy at the end of the this I'd say!

Hopefully Hernandez plays against Southampton, then he presumably wont start vs Villa.

Stuck with Rooney for next week, don't really see too much sense in getting rid of him before Villa at home.

Ashley Young deserves all 3bps for Villa. Took the corner kick which lead to Villa's first goal and he converted the pen he won for the second.

Is there anyone not happy with their score?

I'm certainly not. 100 points sounds good, but it's not good when everyone else has more than that.

It seems anything less than 100 this week will result in a big fat red arrow.

I need Nando to go wild tomorrow.
