Where did it all go wrong?

Mark claims I should be fined by the FPL for fielding an understrength side for the last few weeks. Cheeky! I just put it down to ‘dark forces at work’, not my fault at all.

So a disastrous double game week for me, then, whilst wildcard-wielding Mark ‘smashed it’, and our rivalry has turned on its head yet again.

Up for discussion today is not the offside rule, but the case for Dimitar Berbatov.

I’m off to the Fantasy Island for a bit of soul searching and I’m bringing no one with me. Enjoy your Dzeko time Mark. Interesting that he stated that he always wanted to come to this island despite having never heard of it.

    I'm agreeing with Mark on the podcast about Berbatov. I don't think he will keep up his current rate of scoring. I'm keeping this week as it's a home fixture against a team he could easily get a goal or 2 against and I'll probably keep him for GW26 as again Wolves could easily get battered.

    But then when I wildcard in GW27, I'll probably get Odemwingie for the double and then think about who else I want after that. I probably wouldn't want Berbatov back until GW30.

    Not saying he's a bad player to have now, I wouldn't be quick to get rid, but I certainly don't think I'd transfer him in if I didn't already have him, especially if I didn't have RVP already.

            I would love to have Rooney up front but got to follow head and not heart. I hate having Berbs in my team but can't fault the guy for this seasons performances generally.

            I think Tevez is going to score well. Got some nice fixtures coming up, except for the Utd game but if any City player is going to score against us it will be him.

        8:15am GMT it starts on BBC2 in England. As far as I know. Not sure if that's just the programme time start though, it's what I'm getting up for at least.

            Records don't always mean much but on hard courts they are 3-3. But Murray has won the last 3, which is good news.

            I haven't seen much of this tournament so can't really say, I'll just be hoping for a Murray win. Been a long time coming for Britain to get a grand slam in tennis and Murray is the best hope we've had in a long time.

    Saw some stat about grand slam winners in tennis, and I can't quite remember the figure but they said it's been quite a while since someone won a grand slam without having to beat either Nadal or Federer (which isn't surprising). That's what Murray would do if he wins!

              Yeah it will be tough for him to win, the one we really want to see him win is Wimbledon but Federer and Nadal seem to love it there as much as we english!

      i dont want Murray to win just for one reason - The British media. it annoys me so much how the media already treats lewis hamilton and andy murray as gods. If he wins then im guessing i wont get any other news apart from 'the first grand slam won by a Brit since 1936'. The only thing more biased than the media in England are the commentators on English TV 😆

      Even with the Arsenal game I think I'd go for Etherington. I don't like to have all my eggs in one basket, unless it's for Arsenal/Man Utd and they have some good fixtures. I don't think those fixtures warrant 2 West Brom players.

      Who knows. Some reports show that negotiations have fallen through, and some saying that's why they have suddenly bid for Torres but no definite answers yet. It could still go through but I think it's less likely than before.

          No but i know benfica released a statement to portugal stock exchange declaring it off. I think its generally an accepted fact that its off now. Shame really as id hoped he'd be priced at 6.5 (lower than terry) but guaranteed a starting place. Unfair on alex though id say so like PFOR im glad its off for that reason.

        Nah it is, if you go on his official twitter, he has loads of tweets about fantasy football. He also tweeted earlier in the season that he has a lot of injuries in his team, like Nani, VdV & Malouda and I looked and he actually did have all them in his team at the time.

        Yeah, looking through some of his team selections during various gameweeks, it definitely looks like someone who uses the site. Of course theres 2.2m people that play, I suppose there has to be someone that doesn't read the site but would make similar decisions.

        He just seems to have too many bandwagons or flavour of the weeks/months for it to be a coincidence.

            Anyway, his brother plays too, and theres a guy called Jamie Murray in the league. Jamie is in another league with a player called Laura Robson, who is another british tennis player, and she has a team called Robson United. Which if you look below was included in one of her tweets.

            So ignore the english thing, got to be him!

                It may well be him i just find it unlikely murray would have his country as england (under any circumstance) and im sure that when not touring playing tennis he resides in america (may be wrong on this). Also i just dont see him having as many friends as are in that league (this is a joke aimed at his unapproachable constantly on the cusp of all out rage attitude)

    I plan to wildcard in GW 26, current plan:

    Kingson/Foster

    R.Johnson/Coleman/Huth/Rafael/Kelly/Huth

    Adam/Fabregas/Nasri/Nani/Brunt

    Odemwingie/Tevez/RVP

    -I plan to transfer Nasri out after GW 27 since Arsenal have no game in GW 28, probably for Cahill as everton have a good run of fixtures

    -I originally had VDV in for brunt, but that leaves my team in shambles for GW28, trying to minimize transfers. Also considering Etherington over Brunt. But Im very worried about not having VDV for a DGW, although both games are away

    Thoughts?

      Prefer you kept VDV. If it means 10 players in 28, then so be it.

      Your team:

      Kingson?????? Hmmmm. Bergovic, Schesny and Gordon are preferable.

      The WBA investment-two is a little too much for my liking despite their fix. Keep Odem, boot Brunt for VDV.

      However I like the rest of your team-it has a nice balance to it playing the fixtures and using the main players.
