Fernando Torres appears to be the brink of a £50 million move to Chelsea in a British transfer record that will illuminate deadline day.

The Liverpool striker worked alone at Liverpool’s training Melwood training ground yesterday, presenting an image that fuelled speculation further.

Torres is believed to have an agreement with Liverpool that would free him up from his contract if a bid of £50 million is tabled for him. Chelsea are thought to be weighing up such a bid to take the striker to Stamford Bridge. Should Roman Abramovich come up with the magic number, it is believed that Liverpool would reluctantly allow the Spaniard to leave.

Liverpool themselves are looking to confirm the signing of Luis Suarez today after the Uruguayan striker came through his medical. Blackpool’s Charlie Adam remains a target with Ian Holloway stating that his departure remains a possibility, while there are also reports that Villa’s Ashley Young, subject to yesterday’s Watchlist article, is also being targeted with an £18 million bid being prepared. The Telegraph report that Liverpool have already tabled a £12 million package for Young that was rejected by Villa only yesterday.

With the transfer deadline at 11pm this evening, we could well be in for a frenzy of activity – particularly if Chelsea flood the market with a record fee for Torres.

Many Fantasy Managers will be hoping for plenty of activity, particularly those still sitting on Wildcards and even those who have yet to eject the injured Samir Nasri from their squads. With a number of renowned Fantasy targets subject to speculation and the promise of new arrivals to the Premier League, today’s events may well have a marked affect on the Fantasy potential of several players and clubs.

Keep an eye on the tweets for the latest moves as they break; we will collect the most significant events of the day in a Window Watch round-up.

If I was you I'd be more worried about the tens of journalists reporting the deal is nigh on completed rather that some random tweets. Gerrard to Real next..

About to click the button on this WC:

    Foster, Al Habsi
    Rafael, Coleman, Huth, Djourou, Kelly
Fabregas, Nani, Van der Vaart, Adam, Brunt
    Tevez, Berbatov, Van Persie

Do I need to be talked out of any of this?

I wanted to get two keepers that rotate well, but didn’t have the budget. Otherwise I think it’s ok, except for possibly doing Coleman -> Bosingwa?

You could do that Jimmy, and end up with the same team as me.
Got the WC live this week. But last week had moved Rooney in for Tevez and Dempsey for Nani, with a Man U DGW coming up and Man City fixtures not as hot as could be. But I think there is a (small) risk that the Chelsea-Man U game in that week could be postponed if either draws their next round cup game. Torres to Chelsea could disrupt thinking though!
Everton have a DGW coming up, so I have gone with Coleman, switch to Bosingwa afterwards.

I'll be interested to see what people say here... I was going to get Kelly, but wonder if Liverpool getting Warnock, and Carra coming back will affect his status...
