The FA Cup fourth round replay between Chelsea and Everton has now been confirmed to take place on Sunday February 19.

As stated in our earlier article, this is the same weekend as the FA Cup fifth round and, if Chelsea get past Everton, they will then play their fifth round tie against Reading on either March 1 or 2. That would therefore postpone their Gameweek 28 fixture with Man United which is currently scheduled for Tuesday March 1. Our previous article goes further into the long-term consequences of that.

For now, Chelsea face a prospect of a blank in Gameweek 28 then, while United could have their double fixture in the same Gameweek cut to just the trip to Wigan on February 26.

Evertonโ€™s league fixtures will not be affected by this move, or in the event of progress to the fifth round should they beat Chelsea in the replay.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Nice, I'm so good at scripting ^___^

Just knocked up a hex > dec IP address conversion script that my principal engineer was having trouble with. I'm hard to impress, but I'm pretty pleased with myself.

        Yeah I figured.

        But what about next week?

I know I want Roger Johnson soon for Brum's doubles, but to get him I'd have to lose one of Kelly and Vidic.

Kelly looks most likely to be sacked, but Liverpool have looked strong defensively. Toughie.

            Interesting idea.

I could switch Simpson for Walker, but that would leave me with a weaker team going into GW 27 and 28.

Newcastle are the team to have for their double in GW 27 because they have a favorable GW 28 to follow. GW 28 is an important week. With Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea potentially not playing, having a fieldable XI will be a challenge, and Simpson has a nice looking BOL to help out.

                Okay.

So I'd have to sell one of Simpson, Kelly or Djourou.

Djourou is definitely a no-no, so it's one of Kelly or Simpson.

By the looks of things, it looks like Kelly would be the one to go. But he hasn't gone up 0.1 yet which would give me some profit, and then there'd be the problem with getting Roger Johnson in which is my plan for GW 27.

Maybe I could just do Al-Habsi > Begovic.

That would give me Stoke coverage. A bit worried though about Begovic's starting place, and that'd also cause the problem that I can't get Johnson unless Kelly goes up one more 0.1. I guess I have until later on in the week to make my mind up.

Exactly. GW 28 is very important and i am shaping up my team in way to have 10 DGW players for GW 27 and strong team for GW 28. I am bringing in Nolan for Dempsey today for 1 transfer this week. Will have 2 free transfers next week.

Sell Al Habsi for Myhill, you will get .2 profit, plus if Foster was to get injured he has a home double in gw27. I know it's a W.Brom keeper BUT he's your sub and will almost never play.

Al-Habsi has Rovers at home this week. Foster has an away game. It would be silly to make that move. Weakens my starting XI because I'd have to play Foster.

47 transfers and you still have both wildcards.

I just stole a car, quick quick.

I'm so glad Birmingham didn't get the triple because I would be too tempted to screw my squad for a few weeks after, or take hits, just to get 3 of them in.

The original game Chelsea had with Birmingham on the 26th February is off so could they bump the 5th Round game with Reading forward? (if Chelsea beat Everton in replay of course). I know Reading would have a league game but surely the FA have the authority to shift that to ensure the Chelsea United game isn’t postponed yet again?

The TV companies would love a Chelsea and United double header towards the end of the season but surely they can’t have BOTH games in May?

Keeping this wildcard in prep for gameweek 27 isn’t looking like much of an advantage at the moment with a couple of big decisions still up in the air!

FPL bosses, scrap the second wildcard next year! If you can’t manage that as long as the emergency captain rule gets hung, drawn and quartered I guess I can live with that.

maybe downgrade Evra to Rafael to free up some cash? can do Berbs to rooney whenever necessary.

So bloody confused as to when to use my WC, currently have:

    Kingson Foster
    Vidic Hangeland Skrtel Bardsley Simpson
    Nani VdV Walcott Adam Cleverley
    Berbatov RVP Tevez

I feel I should use it this week to set up for 27 and leave myself with 2 frees for 28 plus a few of my players have poor gw26 fixtures but I wanted to see how new signing would fit in etc.

I think this idea of 2 frees for 28 is a nice idea but u can definatly some injuries accusing before 27 and ruining those plans.

Yeah, I am sure I will end up needing to make a transfer in that last week and I am not desperate to make changes to my team right now. The only concern was possible price rises but most of the players that have risen this week I have in my squad. So I'm golding off.

I really hoped to find out about GW 28 too, but it seems unlkely now until after the 5th Round is played. Some people will need to take hits to field 11 nevermind any injuries/suspensions that happen inbetween.

Well...here's some stats..a glimpse of what members have to help guide decisions - right or wrong.

Pantsil - stats for last 4 Gameweeks

95 passes opponents half - only 4 defenders beat this
4 successful crosses - only 2 defenders beat this with 5
5 key passes (potential assists) - only 3 defenders beat this with 6.

Over the entire season - only 4 defenders have a better touches/per game average.

Key passes per game - 1.1 only 4 defenders have better - 2 of thoses - Gibbs and Walker - have played just 3 matches.

The conclusion - Pantsil offers decent attacking potential = potential assists. Gets a lot of the ball = possible bonus. So, if clean sheet prospects look good and he looks set to play - he looks a bargain.

I do love a bit of the stats - but as a cautionary tale just before Blackpools really nice run of double fixtures I went with Crainey as his stats were so outlandishly good compared to the other Blackpool defenders.
The highest he scored was 2 points whilst Evatt (poor attacking stats) got an assist.
        Gutted.

Yeah, I got on Crainey too. Like you say, you can't put 100% stock in stats but they are bloody useful when you're torn on a decision and need some extra factors to consider.

Yeah it's an odd one. We have tons of attacking mids. Basically the way I see that is you can take out Barton and Tiote, they will be nailed on and operate much deeper 4-5-1 or in Bartons case on the right in a 4-4-2.

I think we could see something along the lines of

        ........Barton....Tiote.....
        .............Nolan........
        Ben Arfa.................Gutierrez
        ............Ameobi..............

With Barton as a deep lying playmaker. In reality though I dont think they will use that, I think Ameobi, Best and Lovenkrands aren't really quality enough to be the lone frontman so we might see 4-4-2 with Gutierrez missing out eventually.
In the near future I expect Ben Arfa to be gradually re-introduced, possibly claiming his spot by the end of March. However bear in mind he can play as a supporting striker and may be used as such. As for Stephen Ireland I haven't a clue.
Nailed on players Tiote, Barton and Nolan should be fine.

Well Crusher the prospects for Barton have decreased since the sale of Carroll as Barton for example assisted 5 of Carroll's last eight goals.
He is still a good player for the price FPL wise though.
