Chelsea’s Replay Date Confirmed – United Clash Under Threat

The FA Cup fourth round replay between Chelsea and Everton has now been confirmed to take place on Sunday February 19.

As stated in our earlier article, this is the same weekend as the FA Cup fifth round and, if Chelsea get past Everton, they will then play their fifth round tie against Reading on either March 1 or 2. That would therefore postpone their Gameweek 28 fixture with Man United which is currently scheduled for Tuesday March 1. Our previous article goes further into the long-term consequences of that.

For now, Chelsea face a prospect of a blank in Gameweek 28 then, while United could have their double fixture in the same Gameweek cut to just the trip to Wigan on February 26.

Everton’s league fixtures will not be affected by this move, or in the event of progress to the fifth round should they beat Chelsea in the replay.

    This is probably good news for me. I had kind of come up with a plan of using my optional wildcard before Gameweek 28, to make the most of the fact that my rivals won;t have players playing, so this is good news for me.

    P.S. If any else face-palms me because they think I want to use the January wildcard before 28, I will not be amused.

      Hate it.

      Far too many unnecessary risks.

      Nani and Adam are fantasy staples. Van Der Vaart is as well, but on current form, you might chance not having him.

      Defense is poor. Howard doubling on Everton is a bad idea. Carr is a weak choice and offers nothing except Brum 90 minutes and yellow cards. Lampard might be a decent differential, but you can wait to get him in when his fixtures improve. Thomas blows seriously hot and cold, and Meireles' role will probably be changed with the new signings and return of Gerrard.

      Martins and Dzeko are awful as well. No past record to rely on and especially Martins, he's horribly inconsistent. Dzeko also needs more form before consideration.

      i think you'll end up playing even more catch up if you use that team, it has far too many risks. Keep the regular top performers like nani, otherwise you make it harder to catch up.

          I've actually meaning to say this for a while, and I see you mentioned it on the previous page, but IMO you can't complain about Crainey getting fewer points than Evatt. Crainey is a full back and now will inevitably score better in the Opta Stats when it comes to crosses, key passes etc... Evatt's attacking threat comes from set pieces, and his assist in the double week came from a set piece.

        Up there as one of the worst signings by us in recent years, Dyer granted is on silly money sitting on the medical staff, but not really his fault, at least he looks decent when he plays.

              Not sure about that...

              Green and Upson aren't particularly good players, Jacobsen and Bridge can do a job, but Tomkins still makes too many errors. He has a habit of going on a run of decent games - at which point I start to think he's a decent player - and then he'll ruin it all with a couple of howlers in quick succession.

              Noble hasn't progressed as well as people hoped, and looks a shadow of the player he was a couple of seasons ago, and as far as I'm concerned - although I doubt many agree with me - Parker is one of the most overrated players in the league.

              Piquoinne and Keane have never played together before, and neither are particularly good forwards IMO.

                Green is a top shot stopper imo, just needs to work on dealing with crosses.

                Upson is overrated I agree, but the best CB we have, our defence is poor tbh, why else would we be bottom. Tomkins is young and will come good - finger's crossed 😉

                Now Noble, he's good. He works hard and I think for just 23 he is a future captain and will be and has been solid this season. Parker, well, one man team.

                Yeah our forwards haven't played together, we signed 2 in the window, but Ba is an unknown atm, but Keane is the opposite. He's a proven goalscorer, and Piquionne has had a good season.

                I honestly think looking at a squad like ours we shouldn't be bottom.

                  Coming from an Irish fan who has had the displeasure of watching Keane in the last 6 months I can say he is verging on past it.

                  His touch , pace and finishing have gone are are very close to being so.

                  Unless something spectacular happens i wouldnt hold my breath on him.

                  Many myself included have been promoting Shane Long to replacement along time ago,

                  Re Noble: I agree he could be a captain one day but that doesnt say much about his ability, more that he loves the club. Which wont help in relegation battle

          I hate Kolarov (1,1,1,1,1,2,2,2,1,1,1 - or whatever his scores were when I had the useless twonk).
          Cahill could be iffy depending on his fitness.
          And I have no idea on the keeper rotation.
