Now the gameweek begins and just like that the hulking Saturday Surgery regresses into it’s much less fearsome Bruce Bana-esque Dugout Discussion. Come in if you fancy, we’ve certainly got more than enough games to keep you interested.

We kick off with Stoke playing host to Sunderland this afternoon, a war of attrition looking likely. Tony Pulis recalls the likes of Matty Etherington and Long-throw Delap into his team while Steve Bruce looks like he might be following suit at Liverpool by countering Stoke’s aerial threat with three centre-halves. Sulley Muntari also makes his debut. Teams in full are…

Stoke XI: Begovic; Higginbotham, Wilkinson, Huth, Shawcross; Delap, Pennant, Whitehead, Etherington; Jones, Carew.

Sunderland XI: Gordon; Onuoha, Ferdinand, Mensah, Bramble (C), Bardsley; Richardson, Henderson, Muntari, Sessegnon; Gyan.

The heavy dose of Saturday football doesn’t end there as we then head on into six 3pm kick-offs and just about round out my Fantasy Premier League (FPL) gameweek before it even starts with ten of my eleven finished by 5pm – the likes of Man City vs West Brom, Everton vs Blackpool and Newcastle vs Arsenal are high on my agenda, who are you tracking?

Then we have Manchester United rounding us out as they pay visit to Mick McCarthy and his Premier League stragglers. Time to watch through my fingers.

The Dugout Discussion will be open through all eight of today’s games right up until the bonus judges hand out their bounty this evening. Stick with us.

I tripled up on Blackburn last season and was absolutely battered on here for it. 3 cleanies in 5 GWs and it had all gone quiet.

Except if there's a DGW, then it can be worth it. All my rivals doubled up on Liverpool in GW24.

A DGW is more debatable; I can see some merit there. Otherwise though, I stand by my point. The winner of FPL last season agrees with me: "But I wouldn’t have 2 defenders on the same team, too risky for me."

This whole "spread the risk" business is a classic gambler's fallacy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doubling up if both players are good picks on their own.

Exagerrated example: If you double up on 2 DEFs all season who are $2 for a cleanie every game, and your rival has one of your DEFs and someone else always priced slightly longer for a cleanie, you end the season with more points every time.

Sure, doubling up increases your variance i.e. you will have crap weeks and great weeks, but nothing in between, but that doesn't matter. You win in the long term.

Ok does any here else use a well know aussi page to view sports. You know the one begins with A. Well it got taken down last week apparantly by Us law division but they have seemed to have re emerged . basically you search same name but is a completly different address doing the same things

Which begs the question how can they do it again (im not complaining) so quickly and be so easy to find without the boys in blue closing them again etc?

    anyone?

I'm only guessing here, but it was probably only the domain that got seized, because that was all the US had jurisdiction over. Nothing stopping the website from pointing their website to a new domain. God knows where it's actually hosted.

yeah, he's being played further forward since Sunderland have changed to 4-5-1.

He actually played that role in pre-season before last season, started a bandwagon. Of course, when the league actually started Bruce went back to 4-4-2 and Richardson did f*ck all.

No, neither can I, but it looks like I may have rolled down some part of Shawcross' body after Huth headed it.

In fact, Huth may not have even touched it at all. Only Gordon.

I think that goal was offside, Gordon was gone and only one Sunderland defender was behind Carew when Huth headed it on.

It was completely offside, linesmen dont know the rules I guess 😛 Not too much of a surprise there!
