There’s been a lot of talk concerning Chalie Adam’s yellow card count – a significant concern as he goes into a double fixture in the forthcoming Gameweek. While some sources state that the Blackpool skipper sits on 8 bookings for the season, today we confirmed with the FA that Adam is in fact on 9 bookings and therefore just a single yellow card away from a 2-match ban. Potentially this could see him miss Blackpool’s second fixture of the Gameweek against Spurs, if Adam collects a booking against Villa.

Despite confirmation from the FA that Adam did sit on 9 bookings, we have gone one step further this evening in the light of further doubt concerning this situation, and received confirmation from Blackpool’s Secretary Matt Williams. He has confirmed to us first hand that Adam is on 9 bookings and one yellow away from a ban.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Bad news. Given his bookings record, I don't believe he won't get booked in the next two games. A point hit seems to be inevitable...

my thoughts on fabs v walcott, from last article, for anyone interested anyway

sorry for caps lads, not typing again though

        i have walcott AND rvp.

to be honest, i actually think fabs will be rested this weekend. im sorry if this mAKES UR HEART FLUTTER ATTILA 🙂

BASICALLY, WILTSHIRE GOT OFF EARLY TONIGHT AT HALF TIME, AND FABS IS the MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ARSE V BARCA. hE CAN DO WITHOUT ANYONE ELSE, BUT NOT WITHOUT FABS. iF HE GOES, THEN THEIR SMALL CHANCE TO WIN BECOMES NIL .

plus fabs i wouldnt have anyway, hes so deep, and hes not even celebrating goals, ie, doesnt give a fook

Well he could be rested, as could RVP. In fact the only one of the Arsenal players that I am reasonably confident will play both is Sczezzers (who I have). Of all the double players I have:

          Sczezzers (don't like captaining keepers)
          Simpson (unsuitable)
Adam (likely to be suspended for one)
          VdV (possibly only playing one)
          Fabregas (possibly only playing one)
          Odemwingie (unreliable)
          RVP (possibly only playing one)

I still think Fabregas or RVP is the best choice for the captaincy. It's really not that good a GW as it is on paper.

Fabs will play - league will be priority, 7 days rest before wolves, captain, no nasri, he's a professional athlete.

Not getting rid, would mean a hit.

I have to chose between benching Tevez, Nani or Adam.

Had Adam been on 8 YC -> bench Nani

Adam on 9 -> Tilting towards benching Adam.

      almost the same as mine...

I currently have Djourou, but will replace with Walker if he doesn't make Saturday.

The other difference is that I have Nolan and VDV instead of A.Young and Cahill, although I've kept the money to replace Nolan with Cahill the following week.

To sum it up, cracking team, but could you not take a little more advantage of double gameweeks, with a plan to make a change next week for someone more long term?

I mean he's just the secretaty, he probs don't have a clue actually whats goin on.

thoughts on fabs resting possibility this weekend...i reckon if i was wenger, and i know alot of people are the same, you might rest him, thinking if he gets a nick, he could be out of that Barca Game.

now, anyone remember the reverse fixture? there was ALOT of bad tackles in that game, and fabregas in particular was highlighted as being guilty of one or two shocking tackles, with pure intent on his face.

It's not in my interest to tell people fabs will be rested if i really think it, cos its to my advantage if hes rested and loads have him for jsut one game.

HOWEVER, i think i should tell people what i reckon.

If i had fabregas this weekend, i'd be VERY nervous he'd be rested!

So if you were a betting man you'd consider Walcott more likely to start than Fabs?

yes. Sean, did you read what i wrote-

i reckon he cant do barca at all without fabs, he COULD do it without walcott, jjust not without fabs. Of course, it'll be incredibly difficult either way, but im talking about wenger's mindset, and he KNOWS what ive said just now- fit fabs- a chance. No fit fabs, no chance. And wolves are gonna kick him around the place, guaranteed

does Wenger actually believe he can beat Barca over the 2 legs? Or would he rather focus on the league?

I think Fab will start vs Wolves and come off early if they have the lead...which seems likely.

It's a real guessing game...they have lots of games in a short ammount of time, but limited options with Diaby and Nasri out (Song too?).

I'd be interested in M Faulkner's opinion on who will rest when...but it's all gonna change with fresh knocks.

I think he plays this weekend and gets subbed at 65-70 minutes with the game already won (if it goes their way of course), he plays vs Barca, rested against Orient and he plays vs Stoke

Prem is the priority. Arsenal need the points and off the back of the 4-4 with Toon won't want to take risks and will play a strong side.

If they start to cruise I think Fabs and RVP will make way. But I think he starts for sure.

I'm keeping Cesc and RVP, and captaining Fabregas. Arsenal have options up front that with Diaby's suspension, and Nasri and Song's injuries, they just don't have in midfield. I expect Cesc to start both games, and the only way he will come off is if we are comfortably winning, which means he'll almost certainly be in the points

I know this has probably been talked about before, but can someone explain the exact prospects surrounding the Tottenham vs Arsenal game.

It was my understanding that it might be rearranged for later in the same week, is this no longer the case, as everyone seems to be talking as if it definitely won't happen?

There's an outside chance it'll go ahead in 28 but it would be advisable to work on the assumption it won't.

either way Granville, I appreciate Andy's "we don't know". So busy with work this year I don't get as much time to come onto this site these days (might be why I'm not doing as well this year!), so I quite often miss these key bits of info.

Always like to see familiar names posting, so many new faces around here I don't know these days

If Arsenal beat Leyton Orient it's an option. The fact they haven't rescheduled it already for later on suggests it is a serious one, rather than an outside chance

Adam out for me then. Missing the second game of the dgw would be bad enough. But the fact it's an eventual 2 game ban means he's almost odds on to miss the gw28 game, and with the other gw28 blanks that's a risk I can't afford.

    Etherington instead then.

Just don't get the trigger-fingers on here re Charlie....worst case scenario he gets booked this week, you still get a home game against Villa out of him. Blackpool always score, Villa always concede, Charlie nearly always gets bonus points....Blackpool have a run of four home games coming up in a few weeks....can you do better with the money you'd sell him for over the rest of the season?

Yes, until he's served his ban I can. If you sold him when he was banned and Blackpool had no games for a few GWs then at most you'd lose 0.2 on selling him now. With a 2 game ban his price will come down to pick him up again cheaply.

some quote there on panorama(post traumatic stress) by a bloke that was in his living room 12 hours after being in a battle in Iraq, when his contract ended in the brit army

it takes 6 months to make a soldier civilian into a soldier, according to the MOD, but it takes no time at all to turn them from a soldier into a civilian.

poignant, unbelieveable stuff when you think about it..... stuff, that poor man's head is messed up now big time.

I know it's an easy target but 'no goalkeepers next week' and Johnson, Walcott, VDV, RVP is one too many.

So assuming you've saved up 2 free transfers you're fine, I'd transfer Szcez for Begovic and Rjohnson for maybe Walker.

Alright so after this info, guess I'll stay away from Adam. But I hate this game week, very confused which of the following to do

    Got 2 free transfers...

    1) Y Toure,Malouda off ---> Meireles,Lennon in(Gives me tottenham coverage for both games)
    2) Vidic,Malouda off ---> Rafael,Lampard in ( Punt really)
    3) Y Toure off ---> Barton in.( Not a great advantage.Gives me another double gameweek player, also gives me 2 transfers next week)
    4) Vidic,Berbatov off ---> Rafael, Tevez

    Which would you do?
