There’s been a lot of talk concerning Chalie Adam’s yellow card count – a significant concern as he goes into a double fixture in the forthcoming Gameweek. While some sources state that the Blackpool skipper sits on 8 bookings for the season, today we confirmed with the FA that Adam is in fact on 9 bookings and therefore just a single yellow card away from a 2-match ban. Potentially this could see him miss Blackpool’s second fixture of the Gameweek against Spurs, if Adam collects a booking against Villa.

Despite confirmation from the FA that Adam did sit on 9 bookings, we have gone one step further this evening in the light of further doubt concerning this situation, and received confirmation from Blackpool’s Secretary Matt Williams. He has confirmed to us first hand that Adam is on 9 bookings and one yellow away from a ban.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ok, so i’m on WC and was planning on using my transfer next week to do Adam -> Young/Cahill… I already have DJ…

Should I just do it now then? Or risk him not getting a yellow and do it GW?

Good West Ham got the Olympic Stadium. First time in a while I have wanted West Ham to win something but as an Athletics fan myself it is important to keep the track.

Well West Ham better get ready for a big legal fight. Since the stadium is on their doorstep, Leyton Orient are going to take this all the way. There are FA rules regarding moving into other teams catchment areas.

Nope they're dead against a big club moving onto their turf, it will inevitably lead to their fan base dwindling. Barry Hearn said he's going to take it all the way to the high court.

Not good for Tottenham then. Not good at all.

I read that rebuilding WHL would cost 450M, and that tearing down the Olympic stadium and refurbishing Crystal Palace would cost 250M.

I don't know how that can be true and I don't know anything about these costs, but sure does sound like a big blow to Tottenham.

Depends if you can afford anyone better. Blackpool never look like they'll keep a clean sheet, so even with a DGW he's probably not gonna score big. That said, he's still in my squad, hoping he pops in another free kick soon - so annoyed when he hit the post the other day!

Yep, he's been more and more involved in things for a while now. But Merlinho, the fact is Brunt does have much better fixtures, and Barton won't get another two penalties. Personally I've got both but wouldn't want to decide between them.

This week, yes, but going forwards no. And West Brom have been generally bad recently. I'm worried about having Brunt in my team short term and having to take a hit to take him out, and I'm wondering if most people round here are feeling the same.

There's money to be made at the moment backing away teams and laying them if they go a goal up.

Pretty old news but Nasri is injured mate! I'd upgrade Bent to RVP or Dempsey to Walcott so you get in on the Emirates goal fest. Two problems though: rotation with the Barca Champions league game and no fixture (probably) in GW28.

Syd, why do you keep saying this?

If you really believe it, why do you want lots of others on the captaincy like you? less places made up for you therefore.
second, theres a good chance he'll either be rested early, or not play at all.

third, he's nto done much lately and has looked disinterested.

i dont mind broken records if they sound good, but for so many more reasons that just repetition, your record is mroe annoying than most!

I guess that's not a bad return, that's more points than I'd have guessed he'd got in the last six. That said, I remember watching Arsenal last season, and pretty much everything they did went through Fabregas, whereas this season he doesn't seem quite as influential (at least, not in the games I've seen). I'm less worried about missing out on a big score from him this season than I would have been last season. But I'm not saying you shouldn't get him...

This Adam thing. We know he gets at least the first game, and there's a risk he misses the second. Surely there's just as much risk over Fab and RVP not playing one of the games, who most people will have and will captain one of? Don't think this yellow card risk is worth dropping Adam over.

Agreed. It kind of renders all out speculation a bit useless as there is such a big risk factor that we can't foresee.

I'm just putting my doublers out there hoping for the best.

Team for this week , am saving my transfer for gw28
Am I benching the correct players ? , City have parked the bus at Arsenal , spurs and against United earlier in the year
but coleman/kolorov has to be close.....likewise feels wrong benching tevez???

    Szczesny
    R Johnson , Baines , Coleman
Nani , VDV, Adam ,Fab , A Young
    RVP , Odewingie

    benched begovic,tevez ,kolorov , walker

I’m considering Jerome Thomas instead of Brunt, is he likely to play if Dorrans and Brunt are fit?

He was under di Matteo, but not sure with a new manager. He should as Brunt is not really a left winger, and he is their only half decent one other than Thomas. I have Thomas and he does look likely to get points this week after his performance against Wigan.

Personnaly prefer Walker of Villa to Kelly due to fixtures.

and maybe Etherington instead of Barton / Adam ...funds allowing

      10/10 apart from that 🙂

The frontline is standard for WC it seems. Mine is the same too. Actually with Walcott, Foster and 1 Defender it is all the same as me so must be good 😉

I've got greasemonkey set up thanks, but the team looks good, not much to pick on. Good amount of DGW players plus you play 11 in GW28 with no transfers. What's your plan to bring in Cahill?

Not sure about having Begovic and Huth - although I guess you'll play Scczzezzczzzhchzny most games anyway. Otherwise it looks good to me.

I've subbed Adam out and I'm looking at 2 possible def/mid options for the same price, opinions welcomed:

    1) R.Johnson and Etherington; or

    2) Huth and D.Bentley

I don't know why but I really fancy Bentley to do a little, I guess I'm looking for an excuse to stick him in.

Hard to decide, both are very good options.

I have the first two actually, but I think option 2 just edges it still.

Just looked in my 'notes' page on FPL website to see what my first draft for this week's wildcard was several weeks ago:

    Foster, Harper

    Rafael, Djourou, Huth, Kolarov, Coleman

Adam, Brunt/Etherington, Van der Vaart, Nani, Fabs

    Tevez, Carroll, Van Persie

Its changed a bit since then this week and will change again before Saturday deadline.
