With just the one game to salivate over today it was difficult to get overly excited. Sunday’s solitary fixture saw Everton travel to the Reebok to play Bolton and, with neither team having a double game this week, it was unlikely that many Fantasy Football managers would have had much interest. It did however provide a useful scouting exercise for those of us with half an eye on the Toffees in light of their forthcoming double fixture. So what did the good honest Fantasy Football gaffer gleam from todays festivities?

Well the first thing to note is this game pretty much summed up Everton’s season. Whilst they weren’t overly bad they weren’t particularly good either and its not hard to see why they are languishing close to the relegation zone. The Toffee’s seem reliant on Seamus Coleman and in particular Leighton Baines marauding down the flanks and putting the ball into areas for Tim Cahill to attack. It would be no surprise therefore if investment by gamers is limited to these three players.

Everton’s defensive performances have been nothing to write home about over recent weeks having failed to keep a clean sheet in 9 Gameweeks. However with Baines and Coleman you have two players with such attacking intent that this almost compensates for the lack of defensive pointage. The pricey Baines offers more chance of assists being the better crosser and being involved in set pieces but Coleman’s position of the flank means that he is always likely to be involved in anything Everton do going forward.

Cahill’s record speaks for itself with 9 goals and 4 assists this season. His goalscoring prowess wasn’t as missed as first feared with the walking sick-note Louis Saha coming good with 6 goals in the Australians absence. However as King Louis was, shock horror, injured again Cahill was pushed back in the centre forward role against the Trotters. Investment in the Australian is almost certain to be high particularly with the double gameweek but also with the fact that Everton have three home games in the next four. He was kept quite today bar a missed chance in the first half.

I struggled to find anyone else in a blue shirt today who could justify investment outside the aforementioned trio. I was hoping that a gem might emerge which would be a bit outside the box – alas it wasn’t to be. Not even previous favourite Mikel Arteta did enough today or has been doing enough of late to justify investment in my opinion.

Bolton’s on loan striker Daniel Sturridge continued his fine start at the Reebok with his third goal in as many appearances. Whilst he doesn’t have a double in the offing, at 5.2m on the FPL game, he may well come onto the radar of managers looking to replace Odemwingie at the end of this current double gameweek and definitely falls into the bargain basement differential category. A couple of away games and Manchester United to come may cause many to double take but as with Jack Wilshire, Owen Coyle appears to able to get the best out of young English loanee’s so I expect his form to continue.

for g.28, i'm not taking a hit. i'll just go with the players i've got and hope for the best.

    so which transfer is best:
    a: fabs > a.young
    b: fabs > cahill

cahill will definitely be in my team for everton's double, but a.young could be a decent shout against blackburn at home as well.

so, would you go for a or b?

b, you don't want to be transferring players in for 1 game.

Young has returned me 1 and 1 in the last 2 weeks

Would you be tempted to bring someone like Fletcher in for Man Utd DGW28 and then swap to Cahill in time for Evertons?

Nani + a defender or striker should be ok... wouldan't bother with any other mid

vidic/evra in the defence and roons/berbs for a forward, pick one or 2

HUGO LLORIS. He is the best player on the french champions and last 16 CL team.

His potential FAR exceeds any other goalie, he can do things I don't think Schmeichel could've done.

He needs time to iron out creases and be more consistent. Ala Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson etc.

I'm pretty sure you made this point before, and myself and Jamsiep alerted you to the fact that Lloris is useless on crosses (there was probably a link to Lyon's 5-5 draw with Marseille last season).

If I was a United fan, I'd want De Gea or Reina.

I'm not worried because I don't have him.

But I get the feeling that Pulis patience is wearing thin with him so it wouldn't surprise me if he bought Sorensen back.

Pulis was dissing Begovic last weekend too after the Sunderand game, saying he didn't command his area very well. Not he kind of things you want to be hearing if you own him.

Just finished watching Series 2 of Breaking Bad, very good programme. Bit fecking bleak though, I'd better cheer myself up by having a go of Heavy Rain....errrrr actually someone just chuck me the valium.

So Arteta still isn't cutting it eh? Hmmm disappointing, I was strongly thinking him instead of Cahill. I'm now toying with a madcap idea of getting Silva or Yaya Toure and a cheaper midfield toffee, not sure who though.

I like FIFA, MW2, Football Manager, Total War, I thought Oblivion and Fallout 3 were great and now on Heavy Rain. I've had Uncharted 1 & 2 sitting on a shelf collecting dust, I'll have to break em out at some point and give them a go.

yeah, the second and third games have a bit more to them in terms of side quests, they're certainly more rewarding.

My only gripe with Assassin's Creed is it goes too deep with all it's different conspiracy theories and cryptic hints that it gets all muddled up. All will be forgiven if it ties up all the knots in the end though, rtaher than do a Metal Gear Solid and just have one big anti-climax.

Ii enjoy the puzzles and stuff I never check em out online and figure em, I actually drag out the story and do all the side stuff first so you get the best weapons and armour for the actual story, no point in gettting all the cool stuff when your finished the mission stuff!

Ending was a bit crappy in the new one too, but always wanting more, I think it's a great game

    Cesar Sanchez, Szczesny

Are clean sheets worth any more in CL game than they are in FPL?

Not likely to be any high scoring games and could see a few clean sheets knocking around.

      Jensen, Copenhagen will he start?

Check Kiakhate, looks very good, just check for injury-- he didn't start this weekend and wasn't on the bench-- maybe rested.

Kluge Schalke --15 games no goals, no assists, but he starts.

    RM UCL Team please:

    VDS Guaita

Ozil Nani Sneijder Pablo Hernandez Vingaard

I am thinking Antonsson for Bonera (AC Milan) and have .8 cash.

You literally HAVE to have Messi in this game. Or any game for that matter. Remember the last time he came up against Arsenal?

Also, get rid of Di Maria, he is overpriced, many better options imo. Rest of team looks good, maybe a Man U def.

Not sure about Torres either, rather have Lampard for less and a different striker.

    VDS Guaita
    Abidal Arbeloa Ivanovic Bonera Antonsson
    Ozil Nani Joaquin Gattuso Vingaard
    C.Ronaldo Messi Etoo

Abidal (Barca)- I think he will start in place of Puyol; but, do you think it is too early for a Barca Def against Arsenal, which is clicking? Also, can't find any reasonable AS Roma DEF or MF.

    Real Madrid 3
    Barca 2
    Man United 2
    Chelsea 1
Milan Valencia Copen 2 each, Inter 1

Gattusso is a massive no, no. He plays super deep and is a card magnet. Avoid.

Try and upgrade Arbeloa to Marcelo, with Ramos back to fitness Arbeloa could well be benched.

Joaquin isn't a certain starter either.

Only way to get a good rounded squad imo is to drop Ronaldo, keep Messi and go for Ibra/Eto'o + Borriello/Soldado/Anelka

4 after that, not so great.

Should score highly in the next 2, after that I might ship him!

Btw, just looked at your team.

You have 4 missing from GW28.

              R.Johnson, Fabregas, RVP & VDV.

Are you intending to keep all 4? (Means only fielding 10 in GW28)

Adam will also be suspended for GW28+29 if he picks up a yellow card in his next game v Spurs. If he does, he needs to be transferred out.

Am I the only person who thinks that people should be red flagged when they have no fixture in the upcoming gameweek? I feel pretty sorry for the thousands of casual players who are transferring in RVP for him to get them a garunteed 0.

Total opposite. I don't think there should be any flags whatsoever.

I know where you're coming from; the flag system is really quite badly flawed, especially with injuries, where the amount of times someone is red flagged and then plays is quite ridiculous. But in an open-and-shut case like this, I think that it would be better that way.

And I want to keep the casual players involved and keep them sweet. Partly because the hundreds of thousands of absolute noobs playing (or signed up and not playing as the case may be) make my actually quite medicore rank look awesome!

Sir Michael Philip "Mick" Jagger (born 26 July 1943), an English musician, singer-songwriter JUST LIT it up on the American Grammy's from Los Angeles with a tribute to Solomon Burke. thank you England.

On the other hand 70 year old American Bob Dylan appeared for the first time at the Grammys and sung “Maggie’s Farm,” WHICH I could NOT understand without F'ing subtitles, which were unavailable.

I want to get either Young or Bent for Villa’s fixtures, but I’m not sure which one. I’m leaning toward Bent as he is more consistent, although Young has the opportunity to get assists as well as goals. Any suggestions?

Bent got an assist just this weekend.

      Young scored me 1.

Depends on the rest of your squad.

        My front six:

        Nolan.Fabs.Nani.Adam.VdV
        Tevez.RvP.Odem

        I plan to do Fabs-->Cahill

I'm just not sure if to do Adam to Young OR Odem to Bent.

Am I right? I'll have 11 players playing ... Most with goodish fixtures. Should I do anything?

You have 11 so that is good. Don't make any changes as yet though. Wait till the end of this GW at least in case any injuries etc..

will Elmo even start? and if Adam gets a card next game, he'll be out. When the time comes I'd say get rid of Adam, or else Elmo.
