Tonight’s Dugout Discussion action is sponsored by loneliness and/or being disenfranchised. While lovers up and down the country are going out for fancy meals, popping the question or buying that last minute bouquet at the petrol station, all we need to remember is we’ve got another game of football in store.

The lovers don’t have a monopoly on romance though, as the likes of David Luiz will be dressed to impress in his first start for Chelsea, while Steve Sidwell is on the prowl for more bait. Yossi Benayoun is left crying in the stands at his own Valentine loneliness, he’s also injured. Tonight’s full teams follow, the headline news is that Drogba is on the bench…

Inalize, those of us who have Begovic are a little concerned that he might get dropped. Apparently Pulis is talking about Begovic's performance being poor. Sorensen could be in line for a game or three...

      Still trying to score as many points as possible, and winning my h2h is a bonus. Especially when I've had an otherwise crap week. But I don't take too much time sizing up my h2h opponent.
      
      Sorted out my UCL, UEL, Metro Euro and Telegraph Euro teams last night...

  This would seem very harsh on Begovic. He has been pretty faultless so far so dropping your keeper after an error that you see keepers make each week would damage a young keepers confidence. Does seem odd that Pulis chose to criticise him than support him though. Sorenson was cerainly more error prone.

        Can't believe you typed wink. Not really interested in playing Fantasy Cricket with all the rookie teams. NRL starts soon enough. My efforts will be going into that. There are plenty of sites for the World Cup. Cricinfo & FoxSports are 2 of the better ones.

wts the best strategy for UCL??
Since there are 4 games this week is it best to invest ur team on those teams playing this week? or is it much better to have a balanced team including many players who'll play nxt week.

  I reckon you want a good spread, with riskier options earlier in the gw and safer back ups on the final day - ie a few Man Utd, Inter or Bayern big hitters to fall back on.
  
  You also get 4 shots at captaincy, so think about who you have as captain options on each of the 4 match days.

  Not worth taking a hit on a keeper in my opinion.
  
  With a hit you will get 2/3 points if he gets a CS or -2 if not....would rather get 0, than run the risk of getting minus points.

    Yeah, I guess it's unlikely he will rack up more than 6-7 best case - will probably just do VDV -> Cahill this week. Can't bring myself to drop Fabs...you think that's my best play given my squad (below)?

      I would say there are more urgent transfers than VDV out. Considering he is now fit, wait until after tonight....
      
      How much would you lose on VDV? I would not be able to get him back if I got rid.

        Assuming they all play (not sure) I can field 9 this week before my 1 free transfer:
        
        Coleman, Kelly, Rafael, Bosingwa
        Nani, Adam, A Young
        Tevez, Wingie
        
        Would make sense to use my transfer to make this 10 starters, meaning one of Stockdale, Foster, Djourou, Fabs, VDV, RVP has to go.
        
        I'd lose 0.4m on VDV (bought him at 8.2m)

Is it right that if Chelsea beat Everton this weekend then the Chelsea vs Man U match for GW 28 is postponed too.

I doubt anyone will field 11 players with Arsenal, Spurs, Birmingham, Chelsea and Man U players all out!

  The survivors will still have "Millionaire Club" in their leagues & still be on the ladder. The best I can do is type how many go out every GW. From the 792 starters, it's been 328, 34, 14, 36 & probably 0 this week. Next week should see a few go out especially if Chelsea can score well. There have a big influence on the dead teams. I'll see if I can do something like that on my site soon.
