Charlie Adam has this evening earned his tenth booking of the season, a pointless yellow card for a late challenge on Tottenham’s Michael Dawson in a 3-1 win – he will now face an immediate two-match ban. Adam will miss Blackpool’s next two league matches at Wolves and at home to Chelsea.

This comes as a major blow for Fantasy Managers who already face the tough task of getting a full starting XI out for gameweek 28 given the blank fixtures for Arsenal, Spurs and Birmingham. With an ownership of 37% in the Fantasy Premier League game, Adam could now be forced out of many a Fantasy squad through pure necessity.

It’s worth considering that, on Adam’s return from suspension, Blackpool face two straight away games – a pair of tough encounters at Fulham and Blackburn. Following that however, Adam and Blackpool have an incredible run of four consecutive home matches with Arsenal, Newcastle, Wigan and Stoke all due at Bloomfield Road. It could well be feast and famine when it comes to Adam’s prospects then.

Adam opened the scoring from the spot in tonight’s 3-1 for Blackpool and is expected to in amongst the FPL Bonus points once again.

      Our sides are quite similar and didn't need the Adam suspension last night too.
      
      I wonder whether Giggs is an option as one of those midfield slots, but the main point in responding is to say that regardless of 4pt hits it is essential to attempt to field an eleven and if that means a 12pt hit for 4 transfers than that should be done.
      
      Think of it as no-one is available. You would make 11 transfers at a 40pt hit as the majority of weeks you score more than 40. Far better than scoring nil.
      
      If you take that principle and consider that the defenders don't need changing around, then you are making 4 transfers in key positions and most likely bringing big hitters from big clubs with either double gameweeks, double gameweeks to follow or good fixtures, then I'm sure that although 12pts is a kick in the nuts, it is a short term kick and it is far better an option than to field 7 players. With Van Persie's injury doubts and Defoe's non existent form (I thought it was worth a gamble too) then the switch to Rooney and Tevez is obvious.
      
      You could lose ground making the hits, but you most certainly will fielding 7 players.

      al-habsi could get 2-3 points on saves...i don't think hit for a keeper will work unless it is a dgw keeper and gyan is away to everton this week...gyan fixtures are not good until gw 32 so stay away from him atm...

      There are lots of players who won't score 4pts or more. The argument works for key players but not for marginal ones.
      
      Considering the fixtures for Arsenal and Tottenham and the DGW for birmingham, there are arguments in favour of keeping some players rather than taking hits for what would be a short term gain.
      
      At least consider things over a longer timescale before going straight to the transfer button. Otherwise, that 4pt hit might end up giving you another 4pt hit in a few weeks.

Boom,if you are still there,how about Adam->Jarvis,Fabs->Cahill and Odemwingie->Berba for -4??Because the lads above were saying that VdV will return against Wolves and as it is Fabs is performing below his level.I'll be getting Nasri in the next 2-3 weeks,but in the meantime why not buy Berba considering he has a DGW?There's the risk of him being benched against Chelsea,but if he starts he's certainly worth considering.
