As promised, we’re squeezing in a second free-to-enter cup competition before end the season ends… The Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV.

This upcoming gameweek (GW29) will be the qualifying round, with the top scorers (minus point hits) progressing to the first round of 512 in GW30. Entry is now open, and will remain so up until a few days before the GW30 deadline (a reminder with be posted). To be clear, you can submit your entry for the competition after the GW29 deadline, but it will be your score from GW29 that will count for qualifying.

Here is all the info you need to know…

What is the Fantasy Football Scout Cup?

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier Leagueโ€™s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager with the highest in the overall standing will progress.

Each gameweek the number of teams will halve, and when the competition reaches the latter stages, Mark and Granville will make live draws on the podcast as we reach our exciting conclusion.

How do I enter?

As with the Members Paddy Power Cup, entry for the competition is simple, just follow this link [ENTRY CLOSED] and fill out the form. A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you’ve submitted your details to acknowledge your entry has been received. Just like the FPL, multiple entries to the Cup are not permitted.

When does it start?

All entries go into the qualifying round, which uses GW29 scores. the deadline to enter will be announced in due course. The first round proper of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will be Gameweek 30.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published a couple of days before the GW30 deadline.

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each deadline.

Is there a prize?

Fantasy Football Scout is providing the following prizes:

  • Winner – ยฃ150 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – ยฃ75 Amazon Voucher

The Winner will also gain passage to the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame and seal qualification for all free Cup Competitions in forthcoming seasons.

    Tevez (C), Berbatov, Zigic

    Bench: Begovic, Walker, Barton, Adam

I don't think Berbs is a good option this week, nor Meireles.

I have Meireles too and I'm probably selling him for Nasri this week. Sold Berbs after his monster dgw as I figured that was pretty much as good as it was gonna get with him.

Barton to Nasri or Berbs to Torres.

You really want someone with potential to score big other than Tevez and most of the rest of your front 7 look like they'll only be getting you 2 or 3 pts this week.

If Arsenal beat Man United they have no double. If Man City beat Reading then Spurs have no double. Both teams definitely will face each other.

Man City, Liverpool and Sunderland are, in theory, the only teams at risk of a blank week.

Think of this as an announcement that the GW29 scores will be used to decide which entries get into round one.

The deadline to enter is not Saturday, it'll be a few days before the GW30 deadline.

Can someone let me know about this protection thing for transfers and how it works...i understand how the values change but hadnt heard of this protection before.

Also...anyone think Torres might be worth a punt as captain against a blackpool team without Adam and DJ???!

Say you have a player like... Cahill. He gets injured for a few weeks & red flagged.. as soon as he comes back from injury and the flag is removed his price is "protected" meaning his price can't rise or fall for a certain period of time - approx 5 days?

That's basically it but there are other factors..

Oh and once the flag is removed his NTI or NTI is reset back to zero.
There are other differences when the same "protection" isnt counted such as yellow flags or red flags for short periods of time.. but someone else would be able to explain that better than me.

        Vidic Hangeland Coleman Bardsley Carr

Yeah it has been collecting dust. It's time I had a go of it again, I've been on FM2011 lately and neglecting the PS3.

did you see balaji rao's second wicket? i've nicknamed it the 60 point wide as on top of getting him his 2nd wicket, by being caught instead of a wide he finished on an economy of exactly 5.00.

it was a good foot downt he leg side. his catch was hilarious too. a combination of ridiculous flair and being fat enough to actually hold onto the ball with the inside of his legs

Actual question is finding the sum of them between 2 and 200.

Shall I just plug it all into my calculator, only joking....

Just calculate the sum of the even numbers between 2 and 200, i.e. 2 x (the sum of numbers 1 to 100) and subtract the sum of the multiples of 6 between 6 and 196, i.e. 6 x (the sum of numbers 1 to 33).

Don't really like Sturridge's fixtures and I don't really fancy Zigic after the double.
Chelsea have nice fixtures, just undecided whether to go for Torres or Anelka. Torres = pitch time. Anelka = some semblance of form.

This article was suggesting that he was going to play. God knows how seriously you can take it though.

Michael Carrick has signed a contract extension..Yip..Extension of Contract..Staying for longer..Mmmm..Sends a loud signal to clubs that may be eager to steal him away..."Hands off our Michael." Anyone remember Ripleys "Believe it or not"? "Tales of the Unexpected"? Bollocks to those who say he's played because there's nobody else to play. Contract extension. Rant Fin.

The stats all say he's a crucial member of Utd's midfield. But when he plays and gives the ball away loads it's mega frustrating. He needs to be paired with a creative midfielder though, which at the moment Rooney is having to do ๐Ÿ˜›
