As promised, we’re squeezing in a second free-to-enter cup competition before end the season ends… The Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV.

This upcoming gameweek (GW29) will be the qualifying round, with the top scorers (minus point hits) progressing to the first round of 512 in GW30. Entry is now open, and will remain so up until a few days before the GW30 deadline (a reminder with be posted). To be clear, you can submit your entry for the competition after the GW29 deadline, but it will be your score from GW29 that will count for qualifying.

Here is all the info you need to know…

What is the Fantasy Football Scout Cup?

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier Leagueโ€™s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager with the highest in the overall standing will progress.

Each gameweek the number of teams will halve, and when the competition reaches the latter stages, Mark and Granville will make live draws on the podcast as we reach our exciting conclusion.

How do I enter?

As with the Members Paddy Power Cup, entry for the competition is simple, just follow this link [ENTRY CLOSED] and fill out the form. A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you’ve submitted your details to acknowledge your entry has been received. Just like the FPL, multiple entries to the Cup are not permitted.

When does it start?

All entries go into the qualifying round, which uses GW29 scores. the deadline to enter will be announced in due course. The first round proper of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will be Gameweek 30.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published a couple of days before the GW30 deadline.

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each deadline.

Is there a prize?

Fantasy Football Scout is providing the following prizes:

  • Winner – ยฃ150 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – ยฃ75 Amazon Voucher

The Winner will also gain passage to the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame and seal qualification for all free Cup Competitions in forthcoming seasons.

    Right rvp and fabs need to go, would be -4pt, one of nasri/lamps + zigic/saha. What combo u think is the best move?

    Flirted with saha lamps nasri in for rvp fabs ethers but that would be -4. Lamps vs nasri is giving me a headache, still have a wc and money not an issue.

      imo both strikers arent that relying to get ya points, maybe bent or carroll or sturridge are better options. i wud pick nasri ahead of anybody but im just biased.

          I'm swaying towards Lampard + Zigic if that helps at all. Just checked Lampard's last 3 matches (LIV, ful, MUN) and he managed to get off 11 shots. That's more than any other Chelsea player from what I can make out.

      Yanky- I would hold WC for one more week (maybe even two, but not any more,) as you have a solid team this week with just one free transfer I think. Just don't know about CL injuries. (This is kind of a minority viewpoint.)

      Plus, if the DGW week is at all a bust (you seem to have three or maybe four DGWer's), you will be in great position to make up a lot of ground.

      Frankly, it's amazing how quickly a WC team can turn into a four bed hospital ward. For example, my Ferguson is now a major doubt with a broken rib-- one of the most sturdy players in the EPL. ... and by sheer luck I avoided Cahill/Barton at the last second, spazzed around and got Downing and Bent, kind of a one week deal.

      ๐Ÿ˜ฎ i feel so sorry for ya mate, i took an 8 point hit to get rid of walcott rvp and kelly, imo u should just try and get 11 players, maybe keep odem maybe he was just rested.

      Odemwingie should make an appearance if he doesn't start, so I'd just take an 8 point hit and try and field 11. It's a bad situation but no need to go overboard.

    Anyone considering Malouda?

    Out of Torres, Drogba, Anelka and him, if Ancelotti starts with 3 forwards, certainly Malouda is the most secure?

    He returned back to right wing vs Man Utd i think.
    And without Drogba, he takes corners now.
    Besides he scored 2 the last time around.

    Thoughts?

        Also scared of rooney doing something stupid and getting sent off at anfield even though he has a decent record there i think.

        Saha is a crock, i would only go for arteta seeing as he is on their pens and half of their midfield missing.

                  Rover-- Your teams are consistent, and you have a solid record over the years-- You are a proven, excellent player in contrast to me.

                  I played one strategy and got VERY lucky. I know a bit about fantasy games in general, but this league is hard playing from the States, I didn't know weather reports, where the teams were based or any of the players (other than some WorldCup guys).

            I initially thought that too, but what I think will happen is it will bring a great deal of certainty to specific guys who have been up and down in constant uncertainty: Leon Osman and Diniyar Bilyaletdin-
            ov most especially. We've seen them play brilliant football and we've seen them stink the place up...

            I haven't invested yet but I think that the 'best defense is our offense' Everton will show. My only fear is in Jack Rodwell coming into fitness, by word of Moyes, of course. I'm not familiar with him at all. Any Toffee's fan here know where he would fit into the Osman-Arteta-Bilyaletdinov triangle...please don't make me dig the zonal marking archives...

              I will note that of course this was against Chelsea, and I'm not sure that Jack will even start or play coming off an injury, what ever it was.

              "David Moyes used Jack Rodwell behind Louis Saha, in a 4-4-1-1 system. Diniyar Bilyaletdinov replaced Leon Osman on the left of midfield."

    Injuries mean I have little option but to take my first ever points hit! Cesc, Martin Kelly, Cahill and RVP all miss out for me.

    Transfers I'm considering are:

    RVP -> Saha, Cahill-> Nasri
    OR
    RVP -> Saha, Cesc-> Lampard
    OR
    RVP -> Tevez, Cesc-> Nasri

    What do people think is the option from above?

    Any comments, good or Bad on my wildcard team

    Begovic, Foster
    R Johnson, Huth, Coleman, Walker, Djourou
    VdV, Lampard, Nani, Nasri, Adam
    Rooney, Tevez, Zigic

    1.0 in bank, plan to do Zigic to Caroll in a week or two, and maybe downgrade lamps and upgrade johnson

        I've figured that players like Shakib and ten Doeschate should always be in your side. They are the truest allrounders in the game, i.e. the bat high up the order and are more than likely to bowl 10 overs, or thereabouts. I'm aiming to have those two for virtually every game that Holland or Bangladesh play.

      They are lucky the end of the season is in sight, they'll probably be able to scrape by without going into full administration and kopping a points penalty. Otherwise they'll be going down.
