As promised, we’re squeezing in a second free-to-enter cup competition before end the season ends… The Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV.

This upcoming gameweek (GW29) will be the qualifying round, with the top scorers (minus point hits) progressing to the first round of 512 in GW30. Entry is now open, and will remain so up until a few days before the GW30 deadline (a reminder with be posted). To be clear, you can submit your entry for the competition after the GW29 deadline, but it will be your score from GW29 that will count for qualifying.

What is the Fantasy Football Scout Cup?

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager with the highest in the overall standing will progress.

Each gameweek the number of teams will halve, and when the competition reaches the latter stages, Mark and Granville will make live draws on the podcast as we reach our exciting conclusion.

How do I enter?

As with the Members Paddy Power Cup, entry for the competition is simple, just follow this link [ENTRY CLOSED] and fill out the form. A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you’ve submitted your details to acknowledge your entry has been received. Just like the FPL, multiple entries to the Cup are not permitted.

When does it start?

All entries go into the qualifying round, which uses GW29 scores. the deadline to enter will be announced in due course. The first round proper of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will be Gameweek 30.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published a couple of days before the GW30 deadline.

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each deadline.

Is there a prize?

Fantasy Football Scout is providing the following prizes:

  • Winner – £150 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 Amazon Voucher

The Winner will also gain passage to the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame and seal qualification for all free Cup Competitions in forthcoming seasons.

    Guys, is it worth doing Huth to Luiz this week?

    Was going to do R Johnson to Luiz after this gw but wondering if I should get Luiz in for Chelsea coverage against Blackpool.

      Not the worst idea at all. Huth's fixtures aren't the greatest from here on out and Luiz looks the business to me if he can stay on the pitch.

      Have considered it myself, but there's just that 19-pointer nagging away that stops me doing it!

      Any thoughts on my predicament below?

    Anyone got any thoughts on this?

    Team in link - I'd like to get Nasri in for Adam, but would need to do another transfer (-4) to afford it...2.2 in the bank.

    Any ideas for something that would be worth a 4 point hit? The only thing I can come up with is Baines for Vidic but I'm not 100% sold on it.

    I'm thinking about using my wc this week is this team worth a punt?

    I don't have Tevez, not very much happy to captain BIR/EVE forwards or defenders. (don't have their mid field)

    I bought Nasri, planning to captain him. However, I have worried that the injured Arsenal team may not do anything this GW.

      The way I see it, they've both got one tough game and one "easy" game. I'm going for Zigic because it means I can afford to get a decent midfield player as well.

    However there is better news with defender Curtis Davies who is now fit and available after recovering fully from a knee injury.

    And Roger Johnson has also fully recovered from a knock.

      However, there is some good news for Spurs. Rafael van der Vaart, who played an hour in Milan either side of missing two Premier League games, is fully fit and will return at Molineux on Sunday.

    I have 9m for a rvp replacement. Saga looks good this week but I can't see him playing the last 10 of the season so will end up subbing him out soon. Bendtner looked good in the week and has good fixtures coming up. Anelka was another consideration but Carlo tends to sub one of his strikers off at 60mins, and I don't want to pay 9m for two thirds of a striker. Defoe and Carroll both look value for money, but not keen on bringing in border line fit players.

    Bendtner is my choice at this time. What do people think?

    Already made 3 changes but still left with Barton, Adam, Vidic & Kelly...
    I'd like to keep Adam & Vidic for the season so it's down to trading out Barton/Kelly or gamble on Barton playing (with the risk of fielding X)...

    Barton has a good run of fixtures and I'm not too happy trading him out now if back soon but wouldn't mind a better mid (currently Nani, Nasri, Dempsey, Adam) - can get anyone but Lamps
    Kelly is definitely out but would rather wait a week to get Walker or should I go for a Chelsea defender?

    Thoughts guys?
