As Premier League managers look to patch up their squads, greedily jumping on any niggles to keep their star assets out of the international firing line, the task for Fantasy Managers never lets up. Every morsel of news must be filtered and hovered up in earnest with today’s snippet round-up offering the latest murmurings on the Tevez injury, a fresh tweet from Cesc Fabregas and Wenger’s mission to sharpen up Jens Lehman…

Carlos Tevez is reportedly “in a race against time†to be fit for Man City’s gameweek 31 fixture with Sunderland at Eastlands. According to the latest reports the Argentine has suffered “a 2mm tear an adductor muscle†– an injury that saw him preserved as City took on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The report suggests that had Tevez played, he risked injury that would have ruled him out for the rest of the season. The loss of Tevez was of course a major blow as Roberto Mancini’s side slipped to a damaging 2-0 defeat.

Mancini will want his skipper back as soon as possible but will surely have one eye on the FA Cup semi-final with United on April 16. His Fantasy owners will now be concerned that, if Tevez carries a risk going into the Sunderland game, he could be kept out of the action again as Mancini looks to keep him fit for a match that will ultimately decide whether City come away with silverware this season.

James Collins will skipper Wales against England on Saturday. That’s significant news for Fantasy Managers because his return to fitness from a calf problem will now surely bolster Villa’s defence as they look to curb an alarming slide into the relegation mire. Most significantly, it boosts the appeal of budget Fantasy option, Kyle Walker. Walker has been outstanding for Villa since his arrival at the club but has had his defensive potential cut by a string of injuries to team-mates. Walker needs the likes of Collins to return in order to up his returns over what remains a favourable run-in for Gerard Houllier’s side.

Collins was recently fined by the club, along with fellow defensive stalwart Richard Dunne, following drinking sessions on a “club bonding tripâ€. The pair of centre-backs have not played together since last month with Dunne is still recovering from a dislocated shoulder. The Irishman was ruled out for “three-to-four weeks†on March 4 and must therefore also be in with a chance of a return in gameweek 31 when Villa take the trip to Goodison.

Cesc Fabregas has informed the world that he is back in training following his latest hamstring prang. Fabregas spread the news via the medium of twitter yesterday…

“I started running today for the first time so I’m very happy to be back outside.â€

It is now reported that the Arsenal skipper could be back in contention for the gameweek 31 clash with Blackburn at the Emirates, a potentially profitable match-up for the Spaniard in Fantasy terms. Arsene Wenger will not want to take any risks with Fabregas however, and may yet protect him for that match, with a gameweek 33 double fixture with Liverpool and Spurs on the horizon.

If fit, Fabregas will surely be on the mind of Fantasy Managers for that double, although with Chelsea and Frank Lampard also experiencing two fixtures in gameweek 33, funds may well be stretched. The majority of Fantasy squads will surely lineup with Lampard and Robin Van Persie for that gameweek, with one of Andrey Arshavin or Samir Nasri also in the midfield.

Jens Lehman could well be in the Arsenal goal for that gameweek 33 double header. The German is widely tipped to be handed a chance following his much-publicised return to the club and Manuel Almunia’s latest caper in the 2-2 draw with West Brom at the weekend.

Aresene Wenger refused to confirm or deny that Lehman was in his plans for the home clash with Blackburn up next, but confirmed that the German stopper was still someway short of the sharpness levels required…

“He (Lehmann) looks like a guy who’s not been involved for a long time but has kept his body fit. He has the basic physical fitness but he lacks a little bit of decision-making and practice in goal…Would I consider starting him? I’m not going to get into that now, we now have two weeks.â€

They Daily Mail reports that Wenger is desperate for Lehman to see reserve action to help him get up to speed and join Arsenal’s title tilt. However, Wenger’s reserves do not play again until next Tuesday at Wigan; that may not be enough preparation to see Lehman in the frame for the visit of Blackburn.

Wojciech Szczesny is currently sidelined at least until May with the tendon damage suffered in the Nou Camp so, if Almunia’s woes continue, Lehman could certainly see action – he is available for just 4.5 in the Fantasy Premier League game.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Wouldn't bother at this stage of the season. Look for a team keeping clean sheets, otherwise you're relying on Coleman's attacking points.

Baines is a season keeper from here on out. Everton finish strongly, and he's on set pieces and bonus hogging duty.

Hmmm. Must admit I had been planning on selling him for Luiz in a week or two to fund the arrival of Lampard. But when you put it like that, it does seem like a pretty massive loss.

Although now I look, I personally probably don't fancy him much for gameweek 34 onwards. Definitley keeping him now that Arteta's absence MAY have put him onto penalties.

    Thoughts on my team...

Al-Habsi - Robinson. Sick of these crap keepers, I need to bring in either VDS or Cech.

Coleman - Kelly - R Johnson - Simpson - Bardsley. Kelly needs to go soon, possibly for Smalling or Luiz.

    Adam - Nasri - Nani - Bale - Dempsey. OK..for now

Tevez - RVP - Berbatov. I should leave alone for now and wait to hear about Tevez.

    Suggestions? 3.7 in the bank

Kelly out soon - if you have the funds i think it def worth upgrading to luiz - (i think i may lose ground to mini league rivals if i dont)- also think its worth dropping tevez - not sure who for in your team - (i have tevez rvp and shrek- so was going to drop tevez for a cheapie striker to generate funds for lampard)- not much help - but my thoughts anyway! 🙂

            unless they're playing south africa.
south africa is THE most consistent team (minus the weird england game). new zealand would have a good chance against any1 else imo... they tend to beat good-but-inconsistent teams like india and pakistan.

England have been appauling so far, but consider that the games they did well in were against the top sides - Beat South Africa, drew with India, and beat West Indies. So now that at the quarter final stage all the teams are good, it does point to a good sign. I'd still think they will get knocked out next round though, but considering how they performed against the big teams its not all that bad!

I wasn't being a knob, i was just kidding.. obviously there's a big difference between a typo and an actual spelling mistake. i didn't actually think you thought that's how just is spelt!

I have huth and i'm not sure i would transfer him out - he's bagged me loads of points. I feel certain Luiz is worth getting in tho. I would certainly take a hit to get adam in - i didn't last week and paid the price.

Stoke have scored in 13/15 home games this season and Chelsea have conceded in 11/15 away games. Probably no clean sheet for Luiz this week then.

Have to be honest, a lot of it did go over my head and I couldn't stay for the whole thing. I regret that really.

That's quite a tough choice. If asked to choose before the last GW I would have said VdV all the way. If Spurs were not involved in the CL, again VdV.

If you can't get them both, then go Adam.

just go to setting then i think it's under background or header and you can upload something. just have a fiddle around with it, that's what i did. if you know all the crazy coding then you can really be in charge of everything like sizing, borders, colours etc. i don't so like when my dad said son you support watford when i was a baby i took what i was given

Just spent the last hour and a half catching a mouse which had escaped into the lounge after being brought into the house by the cat. EPIC

Ah, memories. A cat I had about 10 years ago always used to catch mice in the field across the road and just leave them dead outside the back door. Not the nicest of presents.

And she once brought a bird (tiny thing it was) back too. But it was still alive and trying to catch that as it flew about house was manic to say the least.

Well, kind of shepherded it out so it could only fly towards to the door. Took a few goes, but got there in the end! The cat was going bonkers though, trying to catch the bird again.

I can top a mouse and a bird........

came in from 5aside feeding my reptiles and 1 of my sandfish jumped put and was running about like a bar stud 🙠went into every nook and crany in the room you can imagine.

Intellegance won the day after the slippering tw8t kept me at bay for 30mins.....a trap was made with a few mealworm in a tilted tub - he cudnt resit and scooped him 🙂

As a result no bets placed tonight.

"The majority of Fantasy squads will surely lineup with Lampard and Robin Van Persie for that gameweek, with one of Andrey Arshavin or Samir Nasri also in the midfield."

FINALLY! Some acknowledgement from this site that Arshavin actually exists! It's not as if he's the second highest assist provider in the league or anything like that. But with all the attention that FFScout bum boy Samir Nasri gets, you'd be forgiven for completely forgetting about Arshavin.

And yes, before some nobber says it, I am ever so slightly smug that Arshavin has more than doubled Nasri's point tally in the weeks since I transferred him in. 😉

What do you mean? Are you asking when the postponed games are going to be rearranged? If so, no one knows! The clubs can do it whenever they like, so long as it's at least a week (I think) before the proposed date.
