For those without Wayne Rooney owners, Saturday was a painful day (I bet you did better than me though). Hopefully there’s something on offer this Mothering Sunday, with two Premier League fixtures to close the gameweek out (good riddance).

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open in time for Blackpool’s trip to Craven Cottage. The team sheets have been handed in and read like this…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Baird, Hughes, Hangeland, Salcido, Duff, Etuhu, Murphy, Dempsey, Zamora, Dembele

Blackpool XI: Kingson, Baptiste, Cathcart, Evatt, Crainey, Grandin, Adam, Vaughan, Ormerod, Beattie, Taylor-Fletcher

Fantasy favourites Charlie Adam and Clint Dempsey both feature as does Fulham striker Bobby Zamora. That’s his first league start since his injury back in gameweek three, and his presence relegates Andy Johnson to the bench. Other than that, Fulham line-up as expected.

As for the visitor’s, DJ Campbell competes his three-match suspension today, which allows Brett Ormerod to play alongside Gary Taylor-Fletcher and James Beattie up front.

On a more comical note, Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed has erected a statue of Michael Jackson outside Craven Cottage. No, really.

That monstrosity aside, and it’s perhaps the final game of the day at Eastlands that has our interest, as Man City play hosts to Sunderland. Will Carlos Tevez’s owners be rewarded for holding on? I hope so.

Is Valencia a rotation risk, or is he as secure as Nani (used to be..)?

I'd actually say nani is more of a risk- Valgencia's nailed on for the right and Nani has competition from Giggs/park on the left flank......

Anyone else think that they should introduce a multiple assist rule for next season?

i.e.- if there is a doubt over which player from a team got the decisive touch then award it to both?

They used to have a 'second assist' rule, for when someone assists the assister. It was crap, far too badly defined, and they dropped it after 1 season.

Please, don't shoot me down in flames but - crazy as it might seem - I think it's Torres Time!

WIG, wba, (BIR, WHM) loom tantalisingly ahead and goals are as assured as they ever will be. Roman Abramovich has started to lose face and Ancelloti will have been made well aware of it. Be sure that Torres will be teed up left, right and centre to get off the mark.

As I've said before, when the first one comes, the second will quickly follow. Where better to start off than against the team your new club mates rattled 8 past in the corresponding fixture last season?

Form and stats aren't on your side. Besides, Drogba looks more promising.

on that site torresmagic posted they gave th assist to both kolarov + lescott but rite now lescott has the assist

I think this weekend is the first weekend i've felt like that - partly due to Leicester and Arsenal being a bit too far off the pace to see them coming out with anything. Always gets to the point where you look forward to a clean start and some summer transfers!

Point hits are fine if necessary. My problem this year was that I always had a transfer I needed to make. Never content with my team so there were no luxury weeks where I could take a punt on someone.

To be honest the worst punishment in the story was that people actually got to see him acting like that.

Absolutely nobody in the whole world will have watched that and thought to themselves 'WHOAH WAYNE, YOU'RE SUCH A COOL DUDE!'

He could barely string six words together and the whole world saw it.

It's hilarious, managers! Shout far far worse every single game. It's the fact that the camera was there that there is such a hoo hah, but all footballers swear their faces off every single game, if the ref had a mic it would be absolute carnage. Plus the fact it's Rooney and people are dying to stick the boot in. They can't do it about his form anymore so this is just the tonic. Pathetic really.

That article makes fair points but kind of misses the point at hand imo, which to me isn't that children will go round doing it - just that he shouldn't have done it.

He's a professional at the end of the day so should act like one - don't get me wrong, it's far from a big thing, so it shouldn't be blown out of proportion, but similarly not glossed over just because it's not going to make children go around swearing.

To be honest though he apologised, which i think should be the end of it.

Please don't confuse this with some ABU rant, I personally think he should get away with it since he apologized and recoginzed it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but that man Mark Ogden doesn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer to me.

for the record, this rooney swearing incident is just the tip of the iceberg and simply adds to the argument that all of football needs to drag itself out of the gutter

footballers need to exercise respect in the same manner as rugby union players

no swearing at refs for a start

then they can cut out the cheating and start being honest and strong

    football needs its integrity back

it's only going to get worse otherwise

We (Leicester) got absolute shafted at the weekend by a moronic decision like that. I think football is too far gone for that imo.

There is so much to dislike about modern football it's untrue - from all quarters, ridiculous governing bodies, financially unstable business model, ticket prices are ridiculous, massive gulf ever growing between PL and football league, violence/racism/sexism with fans etc. Most of it all global too, how do you sort it out?

That said i'm surprised more people don't feel completely isolated by it all already - there are so many things i despise about it but i'm still completely hooked.

        it's true

        my uncle is about 65

when he was a lot younger he used to go and watch man utd AND man city just because he was a fan of football

he'd walk to and from the stadiums with the players and managers alike

now he won't watch games at all purely because he has seen better than most how football has deteriorated, and it's very sad to see

in a weird way, it is FPL that has rejuvinated my interest and love of the game, but i am still acutely aware of the many many issues the sport has

Can't argue with mmost of that. The swearing thing is a bit OTT, though - everyone swears, all the time.

Not too long ago you couldn't say 'f*ck' on TV without causing a national outrage. Remember watching dubbed Eddie Murphy films as a kid?

Now you can hear 'c*nt' on Channel 4 and not bat an eyelid.

Captain choice will be very interesting this week, plenty of options.

Is everyone without Rooney knee-jerking him in then? I think I've gotta hold strong and do no transfers this week (like I was and should have done this week!)

Your probably right but I can see it being close in the poll between RVP Rooney & Lamps.
