As the fallout from last weekend’s Premier League action continues to rumble on courtesy of Wayne Rooney’s mouth, our Fantasy scores have been set in stone and we can look back at how the 256 Fantasy Managers fared in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV. The full set of results can be accessed right here, and what follows is a summary of highs (and lows) of the round…

We’ll start with the top-scorer of the week cm1mds, who notched an impressive tally of 79 and soundly beat Loves when carlo reads out team on a friday by 16 points in the process. That was easily the highest aggregate scoring tie of the round, involving the 1st and 15th top-scorers for the round, with the loser having the best score not good enough to progress.

The biggest win of the second round came when Cescy_11 thrashed daiHai 71 – 24, putting an almighty 47 point gulf between them.

As for the lowest-scoring match-ups in the round, the 26 – 26 draw between Afc Chameleon and Fatmag totalled the fewest points in a game, with 10,710th Afc Chameleon progressing at the expense of his 118,460th ranked opponent.

The poorest individual score went to Aggronaut, who amassed an abysmal 13 points giving opponent MartinB an easy passage into the third round despite his score being two points below the rounds average (45).

Other than the one mentioned above there were two other drawn games, with Morpheus and newman edging kiggs85 and Dan_797 respectively, by virtue of their superior overall ranks.

Moving on to the glamour tie of the round and, oh so predictably, it was Gooner dave who ran-out a 44-30 winner against Goose. The slightly more competitive undercard bout to that main event, saw Locarno eliminate Breakballartist 58 – 55.

Any hopes of a dream match-up between Jonty and JauntyJonty were dashed at the weekend, with JauntyJonty succumbing 45 – 34 to mathsgeek. The FFS Cup II champ marches on however, after creaming Milky 55 – 49.

Another potential fairytale coming to an abrupt end was qualifier #512 RonnayBarkay‘s 61 – 47 exit at the hands of jottonolan.

The Scout Contributor’s have been cut in half again, with da Beeeez now the last remaining Scout involved. He made light work of Foolsgold, seeing him off 58 – 39. Big Dunc on the other-hand was comfortably beaten 48 – 35 by Yanky.

Congratulations to the 128 Fantasy Managers advancing, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage. The third round draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV will be announced in the next 48 hours.

Time to get rid of Nani.

Valencia can only play on the right and although he won't play every game he will some which will mean either Nani sits out altogether or plays on the left, where he isn't as good imo.

Drogba v Evra is as embarassing as Kev Davies v Evra. He just cant handle strength.

More teams should put big strikers out wide left v Man United.

First game he played for Utd he came off at half time cos Trevor Sinclair (I think) was dominating him. He's not in there for his height, though.

In fairness even Vidic struggles with Drogba's strength, no point singleing out Evra.

Oh how the times change. Last season most people called him "Berbaflop" and insisted SAF would sell him in the summer.

              People are far too reactionary.

Do you not think it's telling that he's had his best season in a United shirt, top scorer in the league and he is still your third choice striker?

I dunno, last year it seemed legit, everyone was still waiting for him to find his feet at united - this year it seems he's found them, he just can't get a look in especially with Hernandez developing so much faster than i think anyone has expected.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was sold in the summer.

Like I say, people are far too reactionary. Let's see how many games he gets by the end of the season.

Nani couldn't get a look in for large chunks of last season remember.

Totally different - Nani is/was a young player still developing, Berbatov is 30 years old, so if they want to get a decent amount of money for him they'll be looking to move him on soonish i'd imagine.

                Yes the mistake is simple

Berbatov could easily leave in the summer - many stories from people in OT have said his contract may not be renewed.

Yet you parade this dogmatic view that 1. Wildrover is somehow ABU by suggesting this
                2. That you actually know for certain if he will stay or not

Absolute nonsense on both counts. You have as much credibility on the issue (to quote Hitchens) as "a man selling pencils from a cup on the street"

But go ahead and ignore the 2 points again.

Hang on, who was it that made the assumption on Berbatov's future?

That's right, Wild Rover basically stated Berbatov was leaving in the summer.

I pulled him up on this for EXACTLY the reasons you are having a pop at me.

Your vendetta has reached a new low.

ok...so taking this logically. if ancellotti was made keep torres on the pitch tonight, despite drogba playing far better, then one has to assume the pressure will still remain for this weekend, and torres will start.

BUT, of course, drogba should start, cos he went off, and was playing better.

Either way, if you hadnt got fantasy football to consider, you'd start drogba this weekend, get him scoring, and them see what he can do next week.

    its a rich tapestry...

    ps, that was a penalty.
