As the fallout from last weekend’s Premier League action continues to rumble on courtesy of Wayne Rooney’s mouth, our Fantasy scores have been set in stone and we can look back at how the 256 Fantasy Managers fared in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV. The full set of results can be accessed right here, and what follows is a summary of highs (and lows) of the round…

We’ll start with the top-scorer of the week cm1mds, who notched an impressive tally of 79 and soundly beat Loves when carlo reads out team on a friday by 16 points in the process. That was easily the highest aggregate scoring tie of the round, involving the 1st and 15th top-scorers for the round, with the loser having the best score not good enough to progress.

The biggest win of the second round came when Cescy_11 thrashed daiHai 71 – 24, putting an almighty 47 point gulf between them.

As for the lowest-scoring match-ups in the round, the 26 – 26 draw between Afc Chameleon and Fatmag totalled the fewest points in a game, with 10,710th Afc Chameleon progressing at the expense of his 118,460th ranked opponent.

The poorest individual score went to Aggronaut, who amassed an abysmal 13 points giving opponent MartinB an easy passage into the third round despite his score being two points below the rounds average (45).

Other than the one mentioned above there were two other drawn games, with Morpheus and newman edging kiggs85 and Dan_797 respectively, by virtue of their superior overall ranks.

Moving on to the glamour tie of the round and, oh so predictably, it was Gooner dave who ran-out a 44-30 winner against Goose. The slightly more competitive undercard bout to that main event, saw Locarno eliminate Breakballartist 58 – 55.

Any hopes of a dream match-up between Jonty and JauntyJonty were dashed at the weekend, with JauntyJonty succumbing 45 – 34 to mathsgeek. The FFS Cup II champ marches on however, after creaming Milky 55 – 49.

Another potential fairytale coming to an abrupt end was qualifier #512 RonnayBarkay‘s 61 – 47 exit at the hands of jottonolan.

The Scout Contributor’s have been cut in half again, with da Beeeez now the last remaining Scout involved. He made light work of Foolsgold, seeing him off 58 – 39. Big Dunc on the other-hand was comfortably beaten 48 – 35 by Yanky.

Congratulations to the 128 Fantasy Managers advancing, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage. The third round draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV will be announced in the next 48 hours.

Now here is the irony of the media . They go after Rooney and rightly so at the weekend . Yet Rio goes head to head with Torres and not a word is mentioned in the interview.

    Nonsense

You're just... wrong. Torres dived, and diving is harming the game in a major. But yeah, let's let "Kids" grow up thinking that diving is acceptable.

As soon as United get a lucky decision everyone writes off all the good they have done and just dismiss them as being lucky.

Then when they get an unlucky decision it does count because of the lucky ones.

    Double-standards

Congratulation to Fergie, he won the game. He knew it what he wants he played 4 4 2 with 2 classic wingers, as always. An u r doing what? Putting Ramires as a winger, he never played winger. Zhirkov wasn't playing 4 months and u give him 70 min because he is Russian.

    Enjoyed that. A few things:

Impressed by the bloke who looked awfully like Carrick. Can't have been him, obviously.

It was a stone-cold penalty - poor refereeing.

Drogba and Ferdinand making serious moves up my Top 10 Most Dislikeable Footballers.

Lampard, ay? Sh*tting bricks about not having him in my team.*

*no, not really - he was as much use as Stephen Hawking's skipping rope out there.

          500 appearances.

If we sold Torres tomorrow what would we get back, if its more than £5m it would be a good deal. Useless. Drogba was 10 x more effective.

In Fantasy terms, Torres will be gold in the next few weeks. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Spud is living proof of that.

And Drogba is a moaning, big girl's blouse and an embarrassment to professional football.

Drogba didn't play particularly well. He was trying, a significant improvement on the past few months, but he's far too ambitious with the ball, consistently turning into defenders expecting to skip past them with ease, trying fancy flicks all the time.

4-4-2 just can't work with Lampard in the middle, it's as simple as that. I'd just drop him and play Essien and Ramires - who as you say is no winger - in the middle.

I know that u don't respect Lamps but the answer is benching Torres or Drogba and playing Lamps as attacking midfielder. We can't play 4 4 2 cause we don't have wingers (Malouda out of form obviously)!!! If Spain can bench Fabregas and playing Xavi we could do it too.

Chelsea is one of my favourite PL clubs although I'm by no means an avid supporter, but they were really poor this evening.

I honestly dont think it's worth dismantling my FPL team to bring any of them in. I might bring Drogba in for Rooney for the double (oh and Luiz, but I was going for that anyway), but my original plan of squeezing Lampard in, when there are so many better options around, has gone right out the window.

I say yes, unquestionably. Valencia was all over the back of Torres, making contact with his back leg and was absolutely nowhere near the ball. Torres made the most of it, as any forward in his situation (i.e. going nowhere) would have done, but that doesn't detract from the fact that Valencia committed a foul on him.

So you are disputing the facts that Valencia:

        A) was climbing on the back of Torres
        B) made contact with Torres' trailing leg
        C) was absolutely nowhere near the ball

        Righteo.

Torres lifted his leg, it hit Valencia and he went down. Valencia could hardly do anything.

Because these things mean a lot to me. 😉

Nah, because Andy said something about sharing a season ticket with you at Leicester a while back (or something along those lines) and I vaguely remembered you (as bigstevehoward) or Andy mentioning that you used to know each other as well.

Was just wondering whether it was a massive coincidence that both you and this 'bigstevehoward' customer were Leicester fans and also knew Andy. And it obviously wasn't.

lol come on, he booted him in the face - i'd have made a comment about anyone doing it - though probably without the age dig.

Anyway, it's obviously a vicious circle-

I get it, people often have digs at united and you guys get defensive, but then that spills over into being a little bit precious and thinking people are having digs just because it is united etc.

Anyway, as above - totally wasn't singling you out, it was just that only your comment was there when i posted.

Fortunately chelsea got a decision given against them, therefore giving everyone the opportunity to laugh at your bitterness.

Chelsea were a bit crap tonight, sometimes ya get away with it, sometimes ya don't. When your team does get away with it - 'it's what good teams do, get a good result eventhough played badly'. When ya don't, 'Bloody decisions, damn ref, not fair!' It's all fun tho, isn't it 😕

But he just said on 91 mins he wasn't going to complain about the ref. That decision clearly made a difference. What I don't get is why the guy behind the goal can't see anything.

The guy behind the goal is UEFA clinging onto the remnants of oldschool tradition, stubbornly clawing onto the past & 'what makes the game great'. The guy behind the goal is as blind as they are stubborn.

Shahktar were really unlucky to be beaten that badly imo, they hit the very inside of the post and had a couple of one on ones and half decent chances. Could very well have had another away goal with them and Barca took most of their good chances.

I think Torres has been a little bit hard done by tbh.

Based on what i've seen (which admittedly hasn't been too much) his general passing/workrate/movement etc, has been pretty good.

Just lacking the goals/confidence at the moment. From what i've seen he's been alot better at Chelsea than he was at 'pool earlier in the season when his touch was shit and he generally looked sulky.

His touch has been pretty awful so far at Chelsea, but today it was consistently excellent, at least outside of the box. Once inside the box he seems to fall apart.

I honestly think that Torres isn't the problem, rather the lack of creativity from the midfield. Torres' movement is, and always has been, excellent, but Lampard and Essien just aren't making those incisive passes to make the most of his runs. Certainly not in the way that Alonso and Gerrard used to do so when he was at Liverpool.

Great result for utd. Delighted. As for the evra foul, swings an roundabouts. We were well and truly shafted against Chelsea last year at OT with the drogba offside goal and also at the bridge with the free kick that lead to the Terry goal. That aside tie still not over but away goal crucial. Cmon the devils.
