Following yesterday’s preview of the Members’ Paddy Power Cup Grand Final, the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV approaches the half-way stage. Round Four sees us down to the final 64 Fantasy Managers, with another five rounds left to go. Here’s a round-up of the key events from Round Three last week, followed by the Fourth Round draw…

Two Fantasy Managers shared the top-score, with Clogger and joeforristal notching 90 points apiece. Their unlucky foes were mathsgeek (62) and bagpuss86 (66) respectively.

Unsurprisingly, those two match-ups were the highest aggregate scoring ties of the round. Spare a thought, though, for the randy badger, who, despite carding a score of 70, still lost out by four points to Passthebicuits, in what proved to be the highest losing score of the round.

The average score for the round was a touch under 61 which, by my low-standards, seems like a impressive stat. Not so impressive was pataka‘s appalling score of 28, which handed etxeberria (67) an easy passage into the last 64. The easiest of the round in fact, as no other two opponents were separated by a bigger margin.

One more ‘wooden spoon prize’ to hand out, as Cescy_11 (33) was eliminated by seph10 (47) in the lowest-scoring tie of the round.

An FFS Cup article wouldn’t be the same without mentioning FFS Cup III winner Gooner dave of course, and he casually strolled through courtesy of a 68 – 56 win over i campioni due.

There was heartbreak in the Scout camp, however, as “Last Scout Contributor Standing” Da beeeez fell 62 – 50 to malinista.

Elsewhere, Ninja_Fit_Saints squeezed past what was the highest-ranked Fantasy Manager in the third round, in 46th overall maximo78. It was tight however, with the Ninja prevailing by a single point, 62 – 61.

Closer still were the four fixtures decided by overall rank, as their Gameweek scores could not be split. Advancing by the narrowest of margins were droghedans, Pez, Wonderboys and jamrockfc.

Onto the next round then (fixtures available here), and one tie clearly stands-out…

Once again it’s 124th in the world Gooner dave drawing all the attention as he comes up against another site ‘regular’ in SammyC.

With maximo78 out-of-the-picture, it’s left to Off Regularly to be the competition’s top-dog. He’s ranked exactly 100th in the world and faces Morpheus in the fourth round.

Good luck to all 64 Fantasy Managers participating this week, and I’ll bring you the fourth round results a few days after the Gameweek has ended.

    Current defence is: Baines-Luiz-Coleman. (Huth-Kolarov)

The question is firstly why does Coleman look retarded in his fpl profile photo and secondly should i sell him for RJ?

If Coleman doesnt play then you'll be stuck with 2 defenders so i'd say yes.

Just to let you guys know that http://www.ratemyteam.co.uk has been updated to take into account the latest team news.

We've also added predicted weekly scores (best 11 in legal formation plus captain)
    Here's my team: http://www.ratemyteam.co.uk/team.php?userid=246127

and also updated the best players until end of season page so it includes the top 100. We are interested to see what you guys think? Any players too high, any players too low? We know Walker not being there is controversial (mainly due to Aston Villa's poor defence)!! 🙂

No... most likely he will play but you cant bank on Moyes telling you anything before the deadline. Gueye, Bily and Osman can all play there at a push so he wont be sweating about bringing him back if he isn't fit

today, i went to Cech the watchlist, but i felt in my Hart that i needed some Green because i hurt my leg while doing the Samba, so i got a Walker to help me get over this Bridge, while walking i noticed this nice Young Nani that made me Brunt in my pants, but right before i could Bale, she Bent over and put my Sturridge right in her Welbeck. what a day Ba!

Malouda is starting all the games now for good few weeks and stats seem to favor him. Rooney seems the only certain United forward player who will play so having him is all i need i feel. Short term anyway

I'm tempted too, problem is I think benayoun will get plenty of mins over next few matches seeing as they can't create jack atm, he is a rotation risk imo.
And whenever I've seen him recently he's been crap, apparently still getting plenty of chances though

i must say if coleman is out, a move for johnson is tempting if he's injury free. Have foster and ridgewell already, but im a defender down if coleman misses out, so its worth another hit i think (8 already)

With some nice fixtures to come for birmingham, and their propensity to get behind the ball and hang on for dear life in the quest for points, plus the fact that ridgewell and johnson can score...it could be a good move

Rooney played full game against Chelsea, and probably will against Man City too.

Anyone think Rooney might get rested against Newcastle, and play the Everton game instead???

      Team at the minute

      Foster Harper
      Simpson Djourou Huth Kolarov Luiz
      VDV Nani Lampard Cleverley Downing
      RVP Bent Odemwingie

      Planning to do:

      VDV > Walcott
Huth > Walker (just in case Djourou is not fit)
      (-4 points)

      What do you think?
      Thanks

I have Walker and people said his starting place is under risk of the comeback of Cuellar..

Huth will have DGW soon, why not Kolarov out?

          Kolarov has a double too...
To be honest, the defence transfer seems unneccessary anyway, even if Djourou misses the LIverpool game he may play the second one anyway.

Think I might just make the first transfer

Jamsiep - Only seen your bets now, Kiev game looks a tough one to call, not betting on the victor here.

Considering doing over 2.5 in the remaining 3 Europa League games tonight, anyone think its worth it?

Hi guys, my current team is:
      Foster (Mignolet)
      Coleman, Djourou, Walker, Johnson R.(Kolarov)
      A.Young, Adam, Nasri, Nani, (VDV)
      Zigic, Van Persie (Tevez)

0M in the bank, considering VDV to Ramires so that I have enough for Kolarov to Luiz and Tevez to Drogba. 3 transfers = 4 point hit. Should I do it? What do you reckon?

Cheers guys I was originally thinking of Tevez to Carroll, VDV to Lampard and Kolarov to Luiz but Carroll has a difficult fixture and despite the red card Ramires played well against Man U, also Lampard hasn't been playing as well as Drogba....that's my reasoning anyway

What are peoples thoughts on Drogs starting over the next few games then?
Why suddenly do people think he'll be in ahead of Torres and Anelka?

Because Torres has played badly ALL season for Chelsea and for Liverpool and couldn't score in a brothel and Drogba is looking the most impressive of the 3 (he seems to be coming back into form and was very impressive agains Man U)

Agreed, but you are applying logic and that often doesnt help. Need to factor in the fact he cost 50 million and all 3 need to be kept happy etc....

Considering 4 point hit to do

      Kolarov-Johnson
      Young-Lamps
      Tevez-Caroll

This silly? Seems standard from what Ive read!

It hurt seeing Carroll score the other night but Im looking forward to seeing him and Suarez link up

Dont much fancy all my eggs in that Chelski basket to be honest, and if Carroll is back on it he will hoover points up.
Its just wether or not to take a hit to get rid of Kolarov, if not and Coleman is out Ill have Simpson playing vs Man U!Would like rid of Samba too but cant really

Well I'm considering 3 chelsea players for the double (Drogba, Ramires and Luiz) rather than Carroll, Lampard and Luiz due to Carrol's difficult fixture and how well Ramires played against Man U (despite the red card, of course). Why do you want to get rid of Ashley Young and not VDV as VDV appears really off the pace?

Spurs have a double on the way and Young does v little even when he is "On it" where as VDV can score heavily at any point, although I am tempted to get rid of VDV instead!
I fancy Carroll against Arsenal too and then he has 2 decent games
