With the Members-only version wrapped up, all our attentions turn to our third and final Cup competition of the season. The FFS Cup IV is down to just 32 Fantasy Managers, and the upcoming Gameweek 34 sees them face-off to be cut in half once more. The fourth round results can be viewed right here, and the draw for the fifth is here. Here’s a brief round-up of all the notable fourth round action…

Reigning champ Gooner dave came off second best in his match-up with SammyC, losing 83 – 72. His amazing hot-streak had to come to an end, but he will still have high-hopes of a top 100 finish for the season. As for SammyC, he moves on to a showdown with Wonderboys.

In another big round four match-up Green_Libero defeated Locarno 85 – 80. Things don’t get any easier for the victor however, with a fifth round tie against the previous rounds top-scorer, hamyai_hamyai. He’s coming in of the back of a momentous 128 – 91 annihilation of gledy.

In total there were seven centurions this past gameweek. Along with hamyai_hamyai there was honkey (102 – 82 droghedans), daniel.mf (113 – 93 gatzi), Pocket Beatnik (108 – 86 hassyg), jamrockfc (109 – 60 Mansi), redsareback (101 – 97 Arsenalblood) and Pez (117 – 98 Up The Alex).

There were no drawn ties in the fourth round, with the closest any two Fantasy Managers got to each other being two points. Kevin84 scored 84 points (obviously), which saw the end of Leisure and his 82 points, and Morpheus beat top-ranked Off Regularly 89 – 87.

Kevin84 will now take on omar little in the next round, and Morpheus has been drawn with daniel.mf.

Commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage, and good luck to the 32 Fantasy Managers hoping to end their season on a high.

So who’s everyone captaining? Think it’s common sense just to captain RVP for this one. Lampard’s record against West Ham isn’t great and RVP has scored in every full away game he has played this season. As for DGW players, not as tempting as usual, bit of a gamble to captain them but then again it could be very profitable.

dempsey or drogba for me, I wouldn't go near RVP this week. Up to Bolton not that easy and moral is likely to be low.

Think RVP would be a good pick, Arsenal will score and he's in great scoring form. I believe all the DGW players are a risk too because you can never really guarantee their points

Doesn't Lampard usually score against West Ham? I may be wrong, but I'm sure he usually does well against them.

Bobby Z it is for me though.

Sorry for the repost guys, need some advice!!

    My current team is:

    Al-Habsi (Foster)
    Luiz Vidic Walker (Coleman) (Kelly)
    Barton Nani Fabregas Adam Lampard(C)
    RVP Carroll (Odemwingie)

I have 1.4M in the bank.

    Do these transfer sound wise?

    Al-Habsi to Begovic
    Barton to Etherington.....4 Point Hit

Looking for sone Fulham coverage and was thinking to bring Hughes or Baird for Coleman, does that sound wise?

its a big gamble taking points hits for players you won't particularly want after the dgw. If they misfire, you've taken a hit to get them in and may take a hit to get that out. I've brought in Dempsey for Adam. I am considering leaving it at that and hoping the teams don't do that much. I masy consider Kelly to a fulahm defender for a 4 point as Kelly is out.

yeah I agree with you, I think the most pressing transfer is to bring in Begovic because I think he rotates well with Foster till the end of season so I will want him in.

I reckon I will just do Kelly to Hughes/Baird or Coleman to Hangeland.

Only player I was considering was Etherington bacause he has Blackpool the game after but I'm not sure

    Hey guys,

My team at the moment is:

    Foster, Begovic
Baines, Walker, Samba, Luiz, R Johnson
A Young, Malouda, Nani, Nasri, Adam
    RVP, Rooney, Zigic

I have one free transfer this week. I am thinking of downgrading one of Baines, Samba or R Johnson to make enough money to then do Zigic OUT, and one of Zamora, Carroll or K Jones in.

How does R Johnson OUT, Smalling IN. And Zigic OUT, Zamora IN look?

I have 0.4 in the bank.

If you can see any other moves I could consider, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Would you sell Nani instead of Nasri for Dempsey if budget constraints mean you can't do Nasri->Dempsey,DJ->Sturridge for a 4 pt. hit?(Falling just 0.1 short).Rest of the team is as follows:

    Foster/Al-Habsi,
    Coleman/RJ/Simpson/Luiz/Djourou,
    Nani/Nasri/Barton/Lampard/Adam,
    DJ/RVP/Drogba.(0.0 in bank,1 free transfer)

Other option is to do Nasri->Dempsey,Adam->Etherington for -4 but not sure if Adam is out.

Well I think Utd will play Hernandez and Rooney together for the foreseeable future in which case Rooney will play deeper in the Sniedjer (fabs, ahem) role, linking the play between midfield and attack. If that's the case, i personally think 2 more defensive midfielders are suited to playing in the midfield behind Rooney, not someone attack minded like wesley. I do think he's an absolute brilliant player, he would just unbalance the team. I'd prefer M'Vila to Sniedjer... crazy days.

I don't think you can replace scholes, it's like trying to replace ronaldo, or messi, or dare i say fabregas. You have to change the way your team plays. I'd love it if we got Gotze in the summer, infact scratch that it... i'd LOVE it.

Gotzes a good player but hes not the DMs your talking about is he?

I look at it the opposite way, rooney keeps coming deep to get the ball and play, if sneider was ther, there would be no need for him to do it, he could play as a proper striker!

The Stock - He was class against Bayern and Leverkusen, that's good enough for me!

Snoochie - He's not a DM no, but he could play on either wing, rotating with Nani, Valencia, Park or Giggs, or play in the AM role if we go 451 in europe or tough away games. People seem to want another Nani style winger bought, but Gotze is more Fabs with the ability to play as a winger too.. his technical ability is unbelievable jeff. As i wrote earlier, as a DM i'd like to see M'Vila. I was up for Rodwell but he's Hargreaves Mk II on the injuries, thats the last thing we need.

It wasn't all that bad on Tuesday, was it? there was a few Hernandez diving comments, then someone played the glory hunter card and you got all huffy.

There is normally some wumming when united play, but that's mainly because there are so many bloody United fans on here!

plus, I'm pretty gutted it's not wrestling, saw "WWF" in the recent comments section and was all over it.

    Begovic (Foster)
    Luiz Terry Simpson (Coleman, Kelly)
    Nasri Nani Walcott Young (Bentley)
    Carroll RVP(c) Rooney

    Bank .6

    I'm thinking Nasri > Dempsey

Scott Parker - 5 goals, 3 assists, he must have won it for his defensive qualities, oh wait... 58 goals against, the second highest in the prem, and West Ham are, unfortunately, still second from bottom. Baffling decision.

So it should be impossible to be Player of the Year if you play in one of the poorer teams? I don't think West Ham would have been (very) much higher if they had a young Zidane in their team instead of Parker, and following your logic, Zidane should then not stand a chance to get Player of the Year.

i think he's pointing out that all those players play for top teams. Its certainly been a trend previously to give it to a player in a top 4 team. There is an opinion held this year that its a lot easier to look good in a good team than in a team thats struggling. This may well be why they have gone for Parker this year. I think they've got a point and Parker is as good a pick as any. He's certainly been consistant.

    Hello,

    I am thinking of doing:
    Nani out –> Silva in
    Zigic out –> Sturridge in
    for a 4 pt hit.

Does that make sense to you?

I am afraid that Nani will be a constant doubt until the end of the season due to rest/rotation. And I think that 10 M£ for a player that stays on the bench or plays less than 60 minutes is a waste. In addition, the three next fixtures are not so easy for ManU (EVE, ars, CHE). The two last fictures will be easy, but they might already be champions by then.
Silva will have a double game week, rather favorable fixtures until the end of the season (bla, WHM, eve, TOT, STK, bol), including a dgw. And Man City will probably be motivated until the end of the season.

Sturridge is a more straightforward choice: double gameweek (not an easy one though), then favorable fixtures, and he is in the team of the guy behind me in the mini league I am leading.

So, good or bad idea overall?
