From the outset, this was always looking like a tricky double gameweek for the four teams involved and today’s results only offered confirmation. While Bolton still have their two games to go (ARS & ful), owners of Wolves players will be cursing their luck as the likes of Jamie O’Hara and Matthew Jarvis drew blanks this afternoon, allowing the unlikely duo of Karl Henry and Steven Fletcher to pick up the points, with an assist and a goal respectively in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Molineux. Wolves next game, a trip to the Britannia to face a Stoke side in their first home game since grabbing a place in the FA Cup Final, looks a difficult fixture that hardly inspires hope.

Fantasy Owners of both Stoke and Fulham players, on the other hand, should still approach the midweek games with plenty optimism. Both clubs are facing very winnable home ties and a reminder of their home form should offer some reassurance.

Fulham are unbeaten in their last six games at Craven Cottage, winning five and drawing the other. This run has saw them average two goals a game and chalk up a fantastic five clean sheets. Bolton, their midweek opponents, have lost eight of their last nine away and have never scored more than once in that run.

So if you’re one of the 112,000 that drafted in Clint Dempsey this week, fear not. Pre-Bonus allocation, the American may have returned just two points, but this gameweek is far from finished for Fulham. The same applies to owners of Bobby Zamora, who was drafted by 72,000 managers, only to start the proceedings on the bench. Zamora did grab an assist in his 22 minute second-half cameo and today’s rest may strengthen his chances of a midweek start.

Stoke’s home form? Almost as good. Four wins and two draws in six, with three clean sheets and an average of just over two goals per game should brighten the evening of Fantasy managers frustrated after the 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Midweek opponents Wolves have picked up eight away points all season and Pulis’ side look likely to take advantage.

While Kenwyne Jones has already vindicated his selection in Big Dunc’s Spot the Differential, next Tuesday’s match offers other a second bit at the cherry for the rest of Pulis’ side. In particular, for owners of Robert Huth or Matthew Etherington-subject of 43,000 and 76,000 transfers in respectively- there’s still 90 minutes against Big Mick’s boys to go….

I really want Wigan to go down but I think they will scum there way out of it. Awful, boring side who bring nothing to the league.

I personally think it'll be Wolves, Blackpool and Blackburn. Fancy West Ham to get 7 pts from there last 3 which will make them safe.

i think wigan fans (if there is any) hate their team as they make 78% of their turnover from tv money

if they get relegated they have to fire sale so dnt think they'll go up again, and strongly doubt to do like newcastle, keep their stars and lose money startegy, to go back.

I'm happily hoping for Blackburn to go down, I indifferently believe Wigan will go down and I'm going to be rather sad if/when Blackpool go down.

But those are my three if I'm honest. At Christmas I would never have believed Blackpool would have been in such troubles.

If City come 4th then Stoke are in Europe next year no matter what.

If City come 5th then Stoke have to win the FA cup to get into Europe. Therefore, Stoke might as well lose the game if they are safe as it improves City's european chances.

However, its not going to matter as Spurs will get no where near them.

I think they'd do ok in Europe. I know they play a lot of long balls from their own half, but actually play some good stuff once they get forward. Etherington and Pennant on the wings with Jones centre is a hellavu attacking force...

Not by a long way. He's no where near good enough for United, fairly standard defensive midfielder.

      Holden/Tiote are both much better.

No Country For Old Men (on Film 4 now) isn't a bad flick, misses out key bits of the book but the fella playing Chigurgh (sp?) is brilliant.

              Wowsers!
Amazing how class he turned out though at Atletico, one of my favourite players of recent years.
Watched that youtube thing of the top 100 Utd goals and he features in about 10 of them. Not bad for someone who is looked on as a failure during his time there.

Not moaning, just putting things in perspective. January transfers often take until the new season to start working. All the Torres stick is merely giving Jamsiep more ammunition for when he starts smacking them in next season.

Oh well, he'd do the same, like constantly reminding us about no goals from open play for Rooney, wouldn't expect anything less. We'd all do it no matter who it was.

Was surprised when he scored today to see some of the reaction like the chelsea fans are innocent and never mention opposition players

And at the end of the day you're an idiot if you think Torres is now rubbish. He'll score loads next season. Had to get the stick in while we could

It's fair to say Chelsea haven't had a system or players to get the best out of Torres and they will probably set up different next season, but that's not to say Torres is anything like the player he was before his double knee surgery.
