Done and dusted. Despite a muscular second-half effort, Chelsea were simply outplayed at Old Trafford. The Premier League engraver can start practicing his lettering now.

United’s devastating opening, established by a typically slotted finish from “Little Pea†set the tone for a first-half showing that stamped on any plans Chelsea may have had to assume control. The second from Nemanja Vidic exploited the superiority; Frank Lampard’s second-half prod amounted to a nice little bonus for his Fantasy owners, but little else.

Congratulations must go to United on a commanding display but the neutrals amongst us will need to move on swiftly. Fantasy Managers must now consider the impact of today’s “settlementâ€.

United will go to Blackburn next weekend requiring just a point. Chelsea must go full tilt against Newcastle and hope for the best. Gameweek 37 is still on then – rotation shouldn’t be a major factor.

While next weekend looks stable enough, the final gameweek is now in flux. United will face Blackpool at Old Trafford, six days before they take on Barcelona in the Champions League final. Ian Holloway’s side will surely need a result from the match – United will likely just require a clean bill of health.

Owners of Wayne Rooney now have a major dilemma. Feasibly, Rooney could help spank Blackpool’s behind on their way to the Championship, but it seems unlikely. Given the circumstances, we seem set to witness the languid talents of Dimitar Berbatov against the Tangerines; possibly for the last time in a United shirt. Rooney will likely play some part but it could be just to soak up the applause and parade the trophy. Counting on Rooney to earn minutes and fetch returns looks a risk. With no goals or assists in his last four league games, the decision may already have been made.

We need to assess the United situation carefully – if Ferguson’s lineup against Blackpool can be anticipated, there’s every chance that there will be heavy profits on offer. Berbatov could even be a factor, Nani may come back into the equation. While United effectively ended the title race with today’s performance, they’ve thrown us Fantasy Managers a late curveball on our own quest for glory. It’s far from over around these parts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What's the deal with Berbatov? Might be leaving? I understand he's 3rd choice striker now, but he's been missing from the bench on a few occasions too. Any more info?

I would have thought SAF would want to keep him.

Got a Djourou & Luiz related problem now.

Was set to play both next week, now it’s likely neither will play.

Anyone in the same position? Thoughts?

Luiz was rubbish. Ancelotti was justifiably annoyed and substituted him at half time.

      League code: X-Y

X = ID of League Administrator
      Y = League ID

So click on the league you want to join, look at the address bar to find the league ID and starting guessing who is the league admin if you don't know.

I had specifically saved up enough money to do Suarez to Rooney this week.

Not going near any Man U attackers now though. Too much of a rotation risk. Van Der Saar may be the safest choice, although even he may get rested for Kuczack.

Safer to stick to guys like Adam, Hitz and N'Zog now as their teams are all in the sticky brown stuff and need wins to stay up.

Fair play, United won it fair and square in this match, nothing to complain about...strange.

There was one decision, I didn't understand - when Torres' shot hit a hand, I thought that was a clear penalty, yet Webb gave the fk the other way for some ghost offense earlier in the move. Did I miss something?

Yes, that was the only debatable decision.

Actually, sending on Torres was a pretty debatable decision ... 😉

To be fair, United were denied two penalties and Drogba probably should have been sent off.

Sounds like that Torres decision was dodgy then 😉

Nah United were denied two penalties and Ivanovic should have been sent off.

Not too sure about those. I thought the penalties were seen-em-givens, but no more than. Ivanovic's trip on Rooney (I assume this is what you're referring to) was very minor. Rooney made the most of it.

          imo
          drogba could have gone.
ivanovic should never have gone, not every foul is a yellow, don't always believe rooney's fall.
lampard's hand ball was a pen as his hand wasn't in a natural position at all.
          terry's one wasn't quite a pen.

overall man utd got more unlucky with the decisions. but they won anyway so WHO CARES!

Didn't get that one either but he'd blown before the kick anyway so I wont bitch and moan especially cos Lampard got lucky earlier with a handball incident.

Thinking of having Malouda, lampard and Luiz.....

      Luiz could be dropped.

I do agree Chelsea players could still be a good option, reckon they will still hammer Newcastle, their could be some rotation in the front 3 tho.
