A solitary game tonight for the Dugout Discussion as the last fixture of the [regular] gameweek keeps our cockles occupied this evening. “King” Kenny Dalglish has brought his Liverpool side on a jaunt down to London and seems to have left Andy Carroll in Toddington services – the gargantuan Geordie is nowhere to be seen. Fulham also leave a rather large striker out. For them it’s Bobby Zamora; he at least gets a place on the bench though. Full line-ups are…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer; Baird, Hughes, Hangeland, Salcido; Davies, Murphy, Sidwell, Dempsey; Gudjohnsen, Dembele.

Liverpool Xi: Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Flanagan; Spearing, Lucas; Maxi, Meireles, Kuyt; Suarez.

The Dugout Discussion will be open through all the action as Liverpool look to assert their late charge into a place fit enough to earn them some European football – even if it’s not quite they would have hoped for.

when he scored the first hatrick that would be a knee jerk, 2nd hat trick in 3 games? hardl a knee jerk! 50 points in 3 games, he certainly has form!

Liverpool are the way to go! Been a goldmine the last few matches.

No goalscorer is around 9/1 which looks decent but the unders might be the way to go. Probably best to wait for the team sheets and make sure all the doubtful players miss out

Agreed. Spurs have a lot of players out, and if City play their strongest team there's got to be value in a City win at 10/11.

Top 50 (top 45 if you're very ambitious ;)) should be the aim, then make sure you take a print screen of the Fantasy Stats page, something I wish I did last season.... 🙁

I do feel Chelsea players could be the way to this week but I'm worried about rotation in the front 3.

I can see Torres getting a start and that makes me think Drogba won't start because Carlo surely knows now that doesn't work. I could see Anelka coming in for Kalou for sure.

I could be completely wrong and he may stick with Drogba as obviously they need to seal 2nd. I'm just uneasy about getting any of the front 3 in.

I remember getting all excited on the bus to a cricket match when I found out they were 2-0 down and we were beating Bolton. Absolutely gutted when I found out the scores later...

Someone posted an epic picture of the Everton team's reaction to their FA Cup semi final win against United. 10 players going mental, Phil Neville arms across looking miserable. It's probably fake, but would be quite appropriate now after his own goal in that match....

And where was Tim Howard that day? Why wasn't he playing? I remember being livid about that at the time.

All this talk of Silva being rested against Stoke. What is that all about?

It will be their last home game of the season. They will have qualified for CL and possibly won the Cup. Either way they will want to sign of with a good performance from their strongest 11.

Oooh, Gary Pallister on QoS. Not only does he look very similar to my father, I also read quite an amusing article on him, and others, this morning:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2011/may/09/gary-pallister-club-tv-screen-break

"This lot are nutters," he declared as he forcibly interrogated the kitchen staff. In the end Carrington Revealed just stopped, cutting to the credits as though they'd simply run out of patience, or been merked off the premises in a headlock by the goonish, endlessly surprising Rio.

    I lol'ed a lot.

I can't remember him giving the ball away anytime I've seen him this season...and some of his probing passes have directly or indirectly led to goals at pivotal times. Ironically, he's playd much better this season than when he actually won the award afew years ago for basically scoring a moderate goal at West Ham.

Comparing the two in retaining the ball, yes. Ryan Giggs is an exceptional player but the love fest is a bit much. Everytime he creates a goal now the commentators go mental! No way has he been good enough to be PFA, that just my opinion anyway.

I'm not having Odem in before Suarez at all. Odem is hot right now but he has been majorily patchy as well. Suarez has been one of the best 3 players in pretty every game he's played in this year bar 1 or 2 games.

I'm not doubting Suarez is a better player, but Odemwingie's run of form virtually saved WBA from what looked like possible relegation.

Surely worth more than what Suarez did, no?

That getting like the Scott Parker debate, I rightly or wrongly feel it's irrelevant the state of the team the player is in, it's just who's been better and Odem has been very good I just don't think anyone has been as influential up front for their team this year so far than Suarez, Rooney & Odem are close and RVP has to be in their for the sheer number of goals. Just each persons opinions tho 😉

Do we think Silva will start tomorrow? I reckon he will get 60 mins, assuming result allows.

+1 fair enough they have the cup final at the weekend but if Spurs win they are giving themselves some work because they would have to get 4 points from last two to guarantee 4th if Liverpool win their last two (I've worked it all out)

Hope so. I need every point I can get for the rest of this week or it could really be squeaky bum time.
