Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur knowing that a win will see them qualify for the Champion’s League for the first time. For Spurs only a win will do if they hope to mount a realistic challenge in the closing league fixtures.

The home side drop Fantasy favourite Aleksandar Kolarov, who takes his place on the bench alongside Mario Balotelli and the returning Carlos Tevez. Filling that left-back slot is Pablo Zabaleta, meaning that there’s a place in the side for Micah Richards.

There’s also changes aplenty for the visitors, as recently calamitous ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes is left out, with a “back injury” being cited as the reason. Charlie Adam is the reason Gareth Bale misses out, opening a space for Wilson Palacios in a formation-altered Spurs side, which promotes the hugely popular Rafael van der Vaart up behind Peter Crouch.

        I'll work something out for that. All the wildcard teams won in the end even incurring the penalty. The lower seeding penalty might need to be change in case ranks are very close.

    Yep I agree with this advice. First, find the plural of genius (Essential).
    
    When you know it, just remember that some of the people in the top 1,000 do not belong to this group.

Morning chaps, i wondered if anyone would take a look at my mini league. Its tighter that a nats back passage. http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/table.mc?id=2125

I currently sit in 5th, with 6th, 7th and 8th baring down on my. I think 1st is out of reach bar a lucky captain performance. What would you do these last GWs?

I think i want to do Bent-->Suarez as i have been a fool to ignore Liverpool's form so far. But that would leave me with a defence of Luiz (injured?), Walker (Away to Arsenal), Zableta (rotation risk) R Johnson (i'd play him) and we can forget about Kelly.

However i feel the 4pt hit to sort it out will be detrimental knowing how tight me league is. Comments much appreciated, team in username link.

  What's the difference between 5th & 8th? Does 5th get money. If not, coming 8th is ok if you have a good go at trying to improve your rank & league position.

    Yes, prizes are staggered down to....well i think 8th is the first position to get nowt actually. The difference is marginal. Tbh as long as i beat the current 8th place i will be happy (due to another league that would win me).

        Yeah, i think need to concentrate on making one transfer, a good one. Then be fortuitous in my captain selection.

  when a league is that tight and there are so many peolpe around you i recommend you think about your team and ignore theirs.
  
  No point picking differentials because it might let peple catch you.
  
  I like bent-suarez... think zabaleta will start, and luiz is worth the risk with walker possibly coming off the bench

  My mini-league rival (The Guy Who Abuses Me On The Golf Course) is trying all sorts of tricks in a vain and futile attempt to peg me back. So it is not easy but my feeling is to play the best possible team that you can.
  
  Yes Liverpool investment is a necessity.

  Need to work out the chances of Nani starting that last UTD game but he could be a very influential differential.

    Firstly, i doubt it was me. Thats not my kinda comments. But there are a few 'Jimmy****' user names out there so that might be why. I am actually a big fan on the Howizter, just never seemed to get a chince to get him in my team.
    
    Yeah not sure about Nani, as i know if ManU have it wrapped up Furgie uses the 3rd team.
    
    Thing is that i'd prefer to ship out Bent over Dempsey, as Dempsey at least has a favourable fixture this week.

        Suarez: very influential but will LIV continue their scoring ways?
        
        Drogba: sure to be goals v NEW but will he start ahead of Torres?
        
        Malouda: great stats but is he the best CHS option?
        
        Nzogbia: good fixtures and influential but not really a heavy hitter.

My defence isnt looking good at all!
I have Luiz,Djourou,Kolarov,Kaboul, Huth all injured or rotation threats. Out of these 5 do you think 3 of them will start? Im hoping Djourou and Luiz will anyway but not too sure on Kolarov!

Morning guys. Me and my rival have been swapping the lead of our mini-league over the last few weeks. It's seriously nerve wracking, especially now that he's pulled out a massive gap of 6 points. This is my team for the weekend:

Schwarzer (Robinson)
Luiz, Baines, R. Johnson (Huth, Djourou)
Adam, Malouda, Silva, VDV (O'Hara)
Drogba (C), RVP, Odemwingie

Anyone see the need for any drastic changes? I'm not fully decided on my defense, including goalie. Any suggestions are appreciated.

  i like that team for gw37 but not so much for gw38 (chelsea/ man city/ blackpool/ everton etc. have worse fixtures in gw38) so maybe you should save the transfer and do 2 in gw38.

        No, he usually waits until Saturday mornings so I'll have to wait and see. I'd like to keep two transfers for the final week but I really don't want it to come back and bite me in the ass. He likes his transfers but also seems to make them work.

      The Stoke game is not meaningless. Man City can possibly finish third and go directly to the CL Group stage. If they finish 4th, they are in a 2-game qualifier for the Group stage, where anything can happen. I can't see Mancini resting any of his important players unless they're too tired to play effectively.

Protecting a 20 ish point lead in 2 mini leagues. Was thinking VdV -> N'Zog, but looking at my defence it looks a bit weak (especially if, as predicted, Luiz gets dropped)

My defence for next week would be

With Walker and Simpson on the bench. Should I do VdV to NZog as panned and take a -4 to bump up my defence, or just do the one transfer?

    He can't get penalised more than you with a wildcard being a higher seed. The rules were stating you had an additional transfer to use & the H2H would have started -8 all. It wasn't worded the best but as he is higher ranked than you & ahead of you without using his season wildcard, he couldn't be penalised more than you for your hit. If Modric hadn't played you would have won or if you picked a different captain. It's a terrible way to go out but someone had to lose. 🙁

Do we reckon Malouda will play at the weekend. The favoured front 3 has been Malouda Drogba Kalou but I reckon Anelka & Torres will get a run so it's who they replace?!
