Double gameweek 36 comes to an end tonight, with a potentially decisive game in the chase for that all-important fourth spot. Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur knowing that a win will see them qualify for the Champion’s League for the first time. For Spurs only a win will do if they hope to mount a realistic challenge in the closing league fixtures.

Spurs XI: Cudicini, Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Rose, Lennon, Palacios, Sandro, Modric, Van der Vaart, Crouch

The home side drop Fantasy favourite Aleksandar Kolarov, who takes his place on the bench alongside Mario Balotelli and the returning Carlos Tevez. Filling that left-back slot is Pablo Zabaleta, meaning that there’s a place in the side for Micah Richards.

There’s also changes aplenty for the visitors, as recently calamitous ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes is left out, with a “back injury” being cited as the reason. Charlie Adam is the reason Gareth Bale misses out, opening a space for Wilson Palacios in a formation-altered Spurs side, which promotes the hugely popular Rafael van der Vaart up behind Peter Crouch.

        I would go NZog. Better fixture, more to play for, good form. Maxi's form is obviously incredible but Nzogbia still more likely to score "something". Maxi feels like chasing points, although I thought that last week!

        2. A definite advantage of the 'big teams' is that their squad is big enough to field a weakened team that is still a 'good team' -- and that indeed sucks for the 'smaller' teams.

        3. United would pay the 25,000 fine ten times in order to win the CL. They won't be concerned a bit.

      If a weakened teams includes top goal scorer Berba and top assister Nani aswell as probably players like O'Shea, One of the Da Silvas, Anderson and Smalling who have started significant number of games this season, and someone like Scholes who is one of the best players to have played in the league then there really isn't much argument to be had.

      Difficult to call. If I had to go one way, I would say there will not me much rotation, maybe Viera for Yaya, but still expect an "after the Lord Mayor's show" performance.

      I am probably doing Silva to Nzog.

    Team before this week transfer.. It looks good on paper as only VDV and Young will be playing away.

    However, I feel insecure with DF as Luiz and Kolarov may be no longer starting players. As CS point is now a rare. Do you think if it's worth to spend free transfer to get guaranteed starting DF likes Ward or Onuoha? .. or should I focus to sort out my MF, e.g. VDV or Young?

    I feel the latter approach would be more potential for big points. Any comment please.

        Thinking Rooney OUT Drogba IN is a good move this week,United will not steamroll Blackburn, Chelsea are still Chelsea and may steamroll Newcastle.

      I'm tempted to say Nani will get 90 minutes. The question you have to ask is will Fergie want Park or Nani on the wing (maybe Giggs also).

      If the match against Chelsea is anything to go by, Park and Valencia will probably be rested for the BLP game at least.

          It's just a game of luck Demi, that GW I managed 80 points. My highest scoring GW was in GW27 I managed 88. Just hasn't fallen for me in terms of high scoring this season, non the less my mini league is wrapped up nicely 🙂

      Dont make any transfers for your defence.. Hardly any clean sheets these days. I would do the following..

      Kolarov Djourou Baird (Luiz, Walker) - Luiz is unlikely to play with Alex taking his position but wait till later in the week for more information otherwise I would replace Luiz with Baird.

      Kuyt Lampard Hitz Nzogbia VDV > Adam - I would go for that transfer if its free and then play a 3-5-2 with

      Van Persie Drogba up front.

      And you have a great team for this week!

          I think Liverpool will win but also concede so therefore 2 points for Flanagan.. The only defender I would do a points hit for is Baines due to his attacking potential and set pieces but otherwise dont do a points hit for any defender at all.. They can easily concede and thats a waste of 4 points..

    No idea if it's been brought up on here yet, but I reading the sun the other day about Kaka's mom mentioning on twitter that they'll be moving to London in August, presumably making a summer move to Chelsea.

    If Chelsea pull it off how much do you think he'll be worth in FPL terms and do you think he'd be a season keeper shadowing out Lampard?

      Right, rocking with a front line of this lot this week...(I'll be taking a 4 point hit to get there though). Transfers are, Walters, Rooney > N'Zog, Suarez. Tired of Rooney.

      I desperately need to make up the 11 points keeping me from the top. If dame Modric hadn't of played last night it would only be 7 points.

        Didn't realize Walters was a midfielder in the game!

        If i were you i'd hold onto him, he has a tasty fixture against Wigan last day of the season, i'm planning on bringing in Pennant or Walters(now that i know he is a MF!)

        I'd just do the second move and hold onto your 4 points, i'm sure you have a decent sub for Walters this week? I know you may want a differential to you opponent but its no good having a differential if he is going to get less points.

            VDV would be on the bench. He's basically sh*t and playing the form team in the league. TO say VDV is a bit game payer too doesn't mean anything. He played well vs Arsenal but that is more than a big game to the Spurs lot. Tottenham can still get smashed and they won't know what to do, can't see him rising for the occasion TBH.

            Know what you mean about Walters but also concerned about the Cup Final game, potential injur

                ....potential injury and also Carew coming back and starting up front. Pennant is definitely an option. I sure as hell don't want to be leaving it to the last game to make up the points.

                I guess if I play VDV then at least we have a player to cancel each other out if he doesn finally do something.

                Surely if Drogba does anything Lampard will be involved. He's a machine at the moment and involved every week!

              FYI rock, I checked out the guardian chalkboards a few weeks back when I was trying to decide between walters and etherington. He may line up as a forward but realistically he plays in midfield. Pennant's a better choice imo

                Luiz will be benched Huth is injured, Kolarov could not play not Richards is back. That leaves 2 defenders in Simpson and Smalling. Smalling will get a few minutes and Simpson will probably get negative points.

                I'd say there are more pressing concerns than your attack.....but then I also say don't change the defence at this stage in the season.
