We were all set to call this episode ‘Lolorov part 2 – to be continued next season’, but during the recording, something rather more fitting cropped up.

The final podcast of the season is with us to reveal that “deprivation” is the key word when it comes to Mark’s season finale. When Sunday rolls around and the hardcore (I include myself in this) are watching the season finale in glorious HD, Mark is set to be consigned to follow the action via a mobile phone. An old boy is 99 not out and our host is booked in to party along with the Werthers originals and rich tea biscuit dunking. Not the season climax our Mark had in mind.

Even so, Mark could still be smiling. It’s the last gameweek of the season and our rivalry comes down to a precarious 7-point gap in my favour. I’ve been ahead since gameweek 21, surely it would be ridiculous to lose it in this final week? I trust you’ll all be routing for #teamgranville come Sunday.

Listen in and sense my discomfort as we start the build up Sunday’s games, complete with the usual sprinkling of regulars and meaningless banter.

I have to do my transfers before 7.30am, after that I will be going to work until 12 and then off to the middle of nowhere with no internet access until Sunday evening..... 🙁
    I am thinking of:
    1. Zamora to Ba or Fletcher (no hit)
    2. Coleman/Luiz to Lescott/Ward (no hit)
    3. Silva to Modric/N'Zogbia (no hit)
    4. Zamora to Tevez and Lampard to Modric (4 point hit)
    5. Zamora to Tevez and Lampard to N’Zog (4 point hit)
    6. Zamora to Berbatov and Lampard to Modric/N’Zog (4 point hit)
    ????

This may help you advise me:
      My team:
      Foster
      Luiz, Djourou, Walker
      Lampard, Kuyt, Silva, Adam, VDV
      RVP(C), DJ
      Subs: Mignolet, Zamora, R.Johnson, Coleman
      0.4M in the bank

      Rival's team (last week's formation):
      Foster
      Evatt, Hangeland, Luiz
      Lampard(C), N'Zogbia, Nani, Adam
      Sturridge, RVP, Suarez
      Subs: Begovic, Meireles, Kolarov, Smalling

My first suggestion is don't take a hit in gw38, especially to get rid of a fit starter like lampard. If you want me to explain why I think this... ask!

      So that rules out 4,5,6.

Of those, I think I like number 1 best since zamora is a bit of a doubt. I'd favour fletcher, since wolves are really going for the win and he's on form (There is the risk of whatsizname cmonig back for wolves up front though). But Ba is the better player - depends if you think west ham will perform or lie down.

oh and given your rival's team - if you are protecting a lead - what about sturridge? Seemingly fixture proof, and at home.

Who wins - I have 9pt lead...700 quid or so at stake...
    Team a
    Foster(Begovic)
    Luiz/R Johnson/Cahill
    Lamps/Adam/Nzog/VDV (Yaya)
    Suarez/Berbatov(c)/RVP

    Him:
    Gomes(Foster)
    Luiz/Hangeland/Elmo(Huth) (Clichy)
    Yaya/Silva/Nani/Adam/Kuyt
    Rodellaga/RVP (Hernandez)

Think he will do Hernandez to Berbs, he cant afford Tevez without hit..

I'd captain RVP - safe bet and youre not even 100% sure he'll sign berbatov so you might be captaining a differential if you captain him.

Scored - I've been reading posts on the previous page...what's this about you telling people you prefer the advice you get late at night rather than early in the morning on FFS?

Quite nervous, he has had dempsey(c) and hangland recently so as Inalize says below, anything can happen. Gonna leave the mess of a defence as I dont want to take a hit. Trouble is I suppose if VDV is out, I have no bench whatsoever!!

I've been saying it on here for the last few days, but not getting much response.....It's a toss up between him and RVP for me, but still leaning towards Adam.

Really have a feeling there may have been a deal done for Fat Charlie to MU by SAF on the last night of the transfer window, so think he'll be out to impress massively.

I'm chasing a 15 point lead but there are 5 within 30 points, so could be the differential needed....

      .....here's hoping

Same here...chasing a 10 point lead. The guy I'm chasing has Adam but will never ever (c) him.

He is a massive ManU fan and has Nani + Roonpig. He has 2 free trades and will surely bring Berba as well. Here is hoping Fergie throws a spanner in the works and rests players...

My brother (leader) has the pig too but pretty sure he's gonna drop him for Grrrbatov and he talked about getting Tevez in last w/e even before his game at Stoke so pretty sure he'll make those 2 changes (he's 2 frees this week).

I'm not totally sold on Berbatov/Tevez bandwagon this week but think i should get one of the 2 but no way selling RVP and only 1 freebie.

I'm just shy of doing Hoilett to Berb straight and would rather keep Sturridge. Don't really want to take a hit, but as you can see from my history I'm not shy of doing it. TBH if there was a game next week I'd save the transfer.

          Any suggestions, maybe a defender?

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the game was a 2-2 draw and Blackpool got the point they needed to stay up, relegating Blackburn in the process. Followed by Charlie Adam to United in the summer for a unexpectedly low transfer fee...

Got ti think that Blackpool have to score st least 2 to beat or even get a point at the Theatre of Dreams so Adam is going to be involved in that.

Won't even be Utd's best defence he'll be up against either.

      Your defence is a problem.
      Injury doubt: Huth, Djourou
      Rotation risks: Luiz, Kolarov

      I would do:
      Odem (injured?)> Fletcher
      Huth or Djourou> Dawson

Yes Yaya was my first thought. However, Citeh/Bolton is likely to be a very open game so there may be some value in keeping him.

Then again, what are the other midpark options? UTD are a guessing game, Nzog is away, CHS away at EVR.

      Possibly O Hara or Hitz.

Yeah i just thought that Yaya may sit further back now with Tevez back! Have i missed something, is Rooney out? Why everyone on the Berbawagon? Will play 3-4-3 and bench Barton

We have to presume Rooney is being rested although SAF has said that the team he puts out will be a mix of 1st teamers and reserves. Bit of a guessing game tbh.

Positioned at £6.5K currently Jafalad. I had a head wrecking misses for 3 months during mid-season which set me back. Been trying to recover since!

What would your order of preference be this week for Kolarov, RJ, Simpson?

    I'm thinking:
    1. Kolarov
    2. Simpson
    3. RJ

    Thoughts?

                Hey Jaf.

To get berba in i either do this...

Kolarov (or Luiz) out - Dawson in

                OR

VDV (or Silva) our - mid less than 8.4m IN

If vdv is fit, I may do option 1.

                What do you think???

My first thought was: is Berba worth the expense of a hit? He is such an unreliable so and so.

Probably best to keep VDV just in case he scores large.

Option 1 would be my preference.

I recommend van persie - sounds unoriginal but...

Fulham are playing for a clean referee's book more than a clean sheet - For that europa place and the extra cash it brings.

Arsenal are playing for third with a must win mentality.

        Van persie is van persie.

Only ManU striker(ignoring Roonpig) I can get without a hit is Owen. Not keen on selling rvp-->berba.

Easy to fit Nani in though. Do I get him as my rival has him and then be "creative" with El Capitino?

I agree it is NOT worth

          a) selling van persie or
          b) losing 4 points

to get berbatov... Unless you are protecting a big lead and KNOW the rival will captain him... that's the only justification I can think of.

Owen might be a good shout... Nani might be too (I've got nani but not sure if i'm happy with that)

So lots of talk that Tevez will leave this summer.

However, i think that he will still play in the last game. Mancini would be foolish to drop him as that would be the final nail in the coffin and goodbye Carlos.

I worried about Tevez after he's stated (yes I know, yet again) that he's leaving.

    Team from last GW is:

    Szczesny

    Carr / Luiz / Cahill

    Lampard / Dempsey / N'Zogbia / VdV / Young A

    RVP / Odem

Bench: Carroll, Coleman, Clark (don't ask!)

I was planning on doing carroll -> berbatov(c)

Then thinking of dropping one of:

    1. odem (injury doubt but great form)
    2. dempsey (tough home fixture)
    3. vdv (injury doubt and fixture against team in relegation battle)

Seem sensible? any dieas on who to bench? don't want to take a 4pt hit, trying to make top 1k...

Im unsure if nani will play, i think its about a 50/50 chance, Owen is a bit of a gamble, but you'd fancy him or berba to score big. If it was me i's spread my bets and only get 2 from man u.

Also I got a text last night unibet are offering 18/1 on hang AGS vs Arsenal (the worst team in the PL at defending set plays) and its 41/1 for him to be first scorer or last scorer.

Oh, not sure about that, Nani - who knows if he will start, and I don't see more than 3 goals in that game for United, you have two strikers sharing the spoils, both of whom haven't played a whole lot of late, and not at all together really, and if Odemwingie plays, and Suarez most likely will, and they both score, Owen and Berbatov have to score 10+ to make the move worth it, I don't see that happening to be honest, if Odem is out, it's a no-brainer to get one of them, but I see goals in the Villa/Pool game.

I don't know anything about who to believe but Tevez seems to be totally clueless to me. I don't think he knows what he's doing.

If it turns out it is indeed true that his #1 goal is to spend more time with his daughters I will take this back, but at the moment it looks to me as if he listens to some advisers who have their own interests in mind rather than his.

However, in more important news - Carlton Cole is being linked with a £9m move to Stoke. With Carew also seemingly very likely to join us, is it possible we will we have the biggest, baddest, b***est strikeforce in Premiership history?

I think Cole could be a good signing for Stoke. One of his weaknesses is he doesn't link up play well and as Stoke go much for wide attacks or knock downs he should be fine. He's strong and can score. Think Pulis might resurrect his career.

Unsure on Modric myself. Spurs have flattered to decieve at home before and McLeish will get that B'ham side motivated if nothing else. How much cash would the above leave you with?
