With team news for Sunday’s games still rolling in and the Fantasy deadline pushed back by 24-hours, this week’s Scout Picks will follow on Saturday afternoon. In the meantime voting for our end of season awards goes on.

We’ve added the third of our polls today, collecting your votes on the midfielders who have lit up your Fantasy season. Once again you have four votes available to you, allowing the love to spread around an array of nominations.

    I'm vexed again......

    Foster (Beg)
    Terry, Luiz, Walker, Baines
    Kuyt, Maxi, Barton, N'Zog
    RVP, Drogs

    (VDV, Huth, Odem)

    I have a 5 point lead over arch mini-league rival who has already taken an 8 point hit, but unsure whether to do:

    a) VDV to Modric or Adam with no hit
    b) Luiz to Ward and Odem to Berbs (4 pointer)
    c) VDV to Modric and Odem to Berbs (4 pointer)

    (and bench Barton in every case)

    Biggest problem is that if Luiz doesn't play then I can only field ten men.

    What would you do in my position? I'm pretty stumped.

        I don't know what he did but he has a hell of a lot more money in the bank now, so maybe Drogba or RVP to Fletcher and Lampard and Luiz to Adam and a sun5M defender.

        I don't want to dwell on his team to much, but last week it was:

        Al Habsi (Begovic)
        Baines, Hangeland, Parnaby
        Hitz, N'Zog, Lamps, Yaya
        Ba, Drogba, RVP

        (Huth, A Johnson, Luiz)

        I could have done without his Hangeland score, but he seems to be keen on getting the cheaper players in, judging by his transfers.

      I'd do C. He probably dropped the 2 West Hams and Drogba and brought in Berbatov and Tevez plus Modric or Adams.

        Isn't the team value and money in the bank what he has after he's made his transfers though? Sounds like a noob question but I thought that it was, in which case he's bought in some cheapies rather than Tevez and Berbs. Pretty sure he only had about 3M in the bank last week.

        Or is there a simple way to check what he had in the bank last week?

          Net of GW36 and GW37 was about +5.5 in bank. He may have gotten either Berbatov or Tevez with Fletcher.

      C looks good. Don't worry about your rival. Your the one ahead, play the safe picks and make him scrounge around for risky differentials.

      Would probably prefer Tevez, but you probably don't have the money unless you ditch Drogba.

        Thanks all. Not over-worried about what my rival has done since it's too close to call, so in this case I'll go for C since I reckon it will maximise my points.

        Berba is probably a disaster waiting to happen, but at least he can score big at home, whereas Tevez away....

    I am 2 points behind my league leader and have a number of players out. Am not a fan of taking a trading hit but possibly needs must at this time. Can anyone offer any suggestion on my best options. Am thinking VDV>N'Zogbia and Odem>Berbatov and hoping Berba pulls in another boat load of points against B'Pool. Suggestions please.

    love it. my rival had 2 freebies and made 4 transfers already for an 8 pt hit. I have a ~50 pt lead, so it gives me more room to make changes. Other alternative is to only do 2 transfers and start the week with a 4pt lead, but that's no fun!

    SAF didn't mention Nani in his press interview, but said that Berbs would be playing.

    So Berbs would be the safer bet to me.

        isnt walters listed as a midfielder? dont think he can shift out two forwards and a defender for two midfielders and a forward. Hernandez to berbs is the obvious one but stumped on the others. Cant believe he would lose rvp.....

    My rival is 15 points behind plus his 4 point hit. He did 2 transfers before the city game (so think its unlikely he bought tevez)

    Not sure who he bought but he has 0 in bank so pretty sure he didn't sell rvp

    My 1 transfer will bring in berbatov... not sure whether to captain him or rvp (since I'm not 100% sure if he has berbatov and don't want to add differentials!)

    So... rvp is the safe bet, right?

          I always found it difficult to explain the uncertainty principle to anyone until I developed the cyclist/camera analogy which makes it simple.

              Take a still picture of a cyclist and you can see where he is, but not know how fast he's going.

              Take a time-lapse picture of him, and you can judge how fast he's going, but not where exactly he is.

    Hi guys, I've been trying to get some sound advice on what transfers to make/not to make this week. Chasing down my brother in my mini league and have gotten to 2nd (from a low of 23rd in Nov), 15 points behind him, and was very unsure what to do as didn't want to take hit and in process match up with what he was gonna do. Anyway, got thrown a bit of a bone last night, as my bro is in Spain and needs me to do his transfers for him, which are Roonpig to Tevez and VDV to Nani (no hit as he has 2 transfers this week)....

    Now, do I do.....
    a) Sturridge to Berb
    b) Hoillett and Nani to Berb and ManU midfielder, maybe Fletcher (4 point hit)
    c) get one decent defender in for Luiz to be sure I have 3 to play

    I'd really appreciate some advice, haven't asked too much before but it's the last week and really want to catch him.

            depending on your league position if you're chasing a bit of a lead i'd do Ode to Berb and Barton to another ManU midfielder (Fletcher, Scoles, Gibbo maybe). I'm pretty much in same boat (see post above), but think Berb has become a must now as he'll be a big differential to my brother...

          well, fantasy baseball is a bit much, 162 games a year. you have to keep track of everything. injuries/rotation and most importantly slumps.

          if a player slumps there aren't any points there. i did it one season and it's almost impossible unless you watch every game, anyway its a month and a half into the season already 🙂

      Vidic - Dawson....maybe
      Lamps - Modric....not for me

                I have done 77 transfers and I thought that was a lot, although you have not taken 96 hits Jayzico, as you do get a freebie every week.

                This is my first year and I will certainly be taking less hits next year, although will still be making plenty. I have learnt that hits are fine in the right situation and many of mine have been very successful, bringing in Nzogbia and Adam last week, for example. However, I have definitely wasted at least 40 points. I sort of knew it at the time but having seen a whole season play out I have realised the 40 points equates to quite a big difference in ranking.

    I need to drop VDV and was considering dropping rooney too (since it seems unlikely he'll play. If I do that I'll have 20.7mil to spend. I was thinking bringing in Berba and Maxi Rodriguez, but am unsure. Should I instead go for adams, or is there are better alternative to both that i haven't considered....thoughts?

      Mornin. I have the same choices; VdV and Ronney doubts. I have Maxi - last week he scored poor for first time for months. I reckon he'll do well today and I may captn him. And I reckon Tevez for Rooney. Adam will be up for it and when he's motivated he's on fire, already in my team and probably second choice for captn.

          Good point...hate to see quality & money on the bench is all. I'm leading my mini league by a lot after 70+ tfrs so i'm a fan of hits in the right places. That said...i'm struggling to break 50k so ignore me.

            I'd ordinarily agree with you but all the cheapies shouls score well this week? adam, nzog, yaya, fletcher, ohara etc.

            I'm v v tempted with ohara tbh. I now everyone is banking on nzogbia but chuff me stoke aren't going to be letting goals in left right n centre at home and after the other night pulis will be demanding a cleanie.

              Only trouble with O'Hara is he's done very little lately, despite favourable fixtures. I've had him all that time and he's disappointed me. Having said that, I'm definitely playing him this week, and hoping he gets a good haul at last.
