This is it then. The last 90 minutes of action is upon us. 5400 seconds (plus Fergie time) of pure unadulterated final day angst-ridden and panic laden fare. Two more halves of football and then we’re done for another season – in terms of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) endeavours anyway, we here at Fantasy Football Scout will have plenty of goings on over the summer break to keep you coming back we hope.
So we open the Dugout Discussion one last time as we pour over a full calendar of ten sets of team sheets…
Wolves XI: Hennessey; Foley, Craddock, Mancienne, Elokobi; Jarvis, Henry, O’Hara, Hunt; Ward; Fletcher.
Blackburn XI: Robinson; Salgado, Samba, P. Jones, Givet; Emerton, N’Zonzi, J. Jones, Olsson; Hoilett, Roberts.
Chris Samba passes a late fitness to see Blackburn make no changes in this relegation clash while Matt Jarvis is recalled for Mick McCarthy’s men.
Man United XI: Van der Sar, Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson, Park, Berbatov
Blackpool XI: Gilks; Eardley, Evatt, Baptiste, Crainey; Southern, Adam, Vaughan; Taylor-Fletcher, Campbell, Puncheon.
Sir Alex Ferguson sets his stall out with a strong side all the same. The Likes of Wayne Rooney may only be on the bench but with Vidic, Evra, Nani, Berbatov (and more) Blackpool will have a hard task in their fight for survival. The Tangers make no changes from their win over Bolton.
Spurs XI: Cudicini; Kaboul, Dawson, King, Rose; Lennon, Huddlestone, Sandro, Modric; Crouch, Defoe
Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Davies, Ridgewell; Larsson, Gardner, Ferguson, Fahey; Beausejour; Jerome
Rafael Van Der Vaart’s tweeting activing wasn’t a sneaky fib this time round as he fails to make the squad for Spurs. The visitors make an abundance of changes as Craig Gardner, Curtis Davies, Liam Ridgwell, Keith Fahey, Jean Beausejour and Cameron Jerome come in.
Stoke XI: Begovic; Wilkinson, Shawcross, Collins, Wilson; Pennant, Whelan, Delap, Etherington; Walters, Jones
Wigan XI: Al Habsi; Boyce, G. Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa; Watson, McCarthy, Diame; N’Zogbia, Rodallega, Sammo
Wigan’s most vital game of the season sees Roberto Martinez grant Connor Sammon his first start for the Latics in their only change. The home side make a whole host of changes from that which were resolutely beaten by Man City in midweek.
Aston Villa XI: Friedel; Walker, Dunne, Collins, L Young; Petrov, Reo-Coker, Delph; Downing, A Young, Bent
Liverpool XI: Reina; Flanagan, Aurelio, Skrtel, Carragher; Spearing, Lucas; Cole, Meireles, Suarez; Kuyt.
Aston Villa are unchanged from the side that won at the Emirates last week while Kenny Dalglish brings in Fabio Aurelio, Joe Cole and Raul Meireles for Glen Johnson, Andy Carroll and Maxi Rodriguez.
Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, Coloccini, S Taylor, Enrique; Barton, Guthrie, R Taylor, Ferguson; Lovenkrands, Ameobi.
West Brom XI: Carson; Reid, Meite, Olsson, Shorey; Scharner, Mulumbu; Brunt, Tchoyi, Morrison, Fortune.
With thier squad thinning we see Newcastle line up exactly as we predicted while the away team draft in Somen Tchoyi, James Morrison and Marc-Antoine Fortune.
Fulham XI: Schwarzer; Briggs, Hangeland, Hughes, Senderos; Sidwell, Greening, Murphy, Dempsey; A. Johnson, Zamora.
Arsenal XI: Szczesney; Sagna, Vermaelen, Djourou, Gibbs; Diaby, Wilshere, Ramsey; Chamakh, Nasri, RVP
Just a single change for the home side as Carlos Salcido gets ousted by youngster Matthew Briggs. Arsene Wenger bring Johan Djourou back into the fold as well as Marouanne Chamakh – Scout Pick Theo Walcott is left twidding his thumbs on the bench.
Everton XI: Howard; Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines; Heitinga, Coleman, Arteta, Osman, Rodwell; Beckford.
Chelsea XI: Cech; Ivanovic, Alex, Terry, Cole; Mikel, Essien, Lampard; Malouda, Torres, Anelka.
This game with nothing to play for sees Carlo Ancelotti stick to his word and start the players he intimated he would while Jack Rodwell and Jermain Beckford come in for the home side. Didier Drogba isn’t even on the Chelsea bench.
West Ham XI: Green; Spence, Gabbidon, Tomkins, Bridge; Collison, Hitzlsperger, Boa Morte; Sears, Hines, Piquionne
Sunderland XI: Mignolet; Elmohamady, Bardsley, Onuoha, Ferdinand; Colback, Zenden, Henderson, Malbranque, Sessegnon, Gyan.
Kevin Keen follows through by starting a side that looks predominantly like that which West Ham may field in the Championship next season. On the other end of this dead rubber Asamoah Gyan does recover to start the Wearsiders final game of the season.
Bolton XI: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Robinson, Lee, Elmander, Gardner, Taylor, Davies, Sturridge
Man City XI: Hart; Richards, Boyata, Kompany, Lescott; Barry, De Jong, Yaya: A. Johnson, Silva, Tevez.
Johan Elmander returns to the Bolton starting line-up to make what will be his swansong appearance before a likely move to Galatasary while the away side make two changes by bringing in Dedryk Boyata and Gareth Barry. The oft talked about (and applebonkers video tribute victim) Aleksander Kolarov isn’t even in the squad.
The Dugout Discussion will be open right until the bonus points get your riled for one last time this season. Let the games begin.
