The final whistle has blown on all ten Premier League games around the country and for Blackpool and Birmingham, it sounded more like a death knell, as the pair joined West Ham in dropping to the Championship.

Blackburn’s surprise win over Wolves at Molineux meant Steve Kean’s side escape the drop thanks to a stunning first forty five minute performance that saw Rovers storm to a 3-0 half-time lead. Goals from Jamie O’Hara and Stephen Hunt were not enough to earn a draw but results elsewhere saw Mick McCarthy’s side stay in the top-flight next season.

Two goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko proved the undoing of Birmingham at White Hart Lane to condemn Alex McLeish’s side to relegation. Craig Gardner cancelled out the Russian’s early second-half strike but a goal deep into injury time means the Carling Cup winners will be playing both European and Championship football in 2011/12.

Wigan’s two main threats combined when it mattered most to clinch their survival; Charles N’Zogbia crossing for Hugo Rodallega to score his first goal in five games and condemn Stoke to their first home defeat in nine matches, earning the Latics a place in next season’s Premier League.

Goals from Charlie Adam and Gary Taylor-Fletcher afforded Blackpool plenty hope at Old Trafford but in the end, Man United’s class (and an unfortunate Ian Evatt own goal) dumped the Seasiders out the Premier League in Edwin Van der Sar’s final home game for the champions.

This means we wave goodbye to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) favourites such as Charlie Adam and Ben Foster, though the pair will surely be hotly pursued over the next couple of months and will be expected to earn themselves moves back to the top-flight. The likes of DJ Campbell and Roger Johnson could well jump straight back up too, given their displays over the season.

In Fantasy Football Scout related news, Granville has won the all-important race for bragging rights over the summer, beating Mark in a final day shootout. The next podcast should make for interesting listening, then.

This upcoming week we’ll be starting our 2010/11 Season Review, focusing on the players you vote for in our position by position polls.

Fantasy Football Scout would like to say a big thanks for all your support this season. Stay tuned for more to come, folks. There’s plenty up our sleeves.

Who do you think that Man U's 3 transfers will be then?

Looks like Varane will be one

Obviously a GK...I have got a feeling from Fergie's comments (and because it worked with VDS) that it will be someone experienced...I am thinking Buffon (maybe even Schwartzer)

Then a midfielder? Can't see a mega signing, maybe Charlie Adam?

TBF Locarno, the players youve chosen were prospects, cheap and young (Taibi was young enuf for a gk) .

Adams price is infated, and his age means hes not a prospect , we all know exacty what hes capable of

dont think united will be interested.

I'm not saying they are interested - and I'd be stunned if they signed him - but United fans saying "he's not good enough for our club" obviously haven't watched a few of their players very closely this season...

I suppose he would fit in the squad, which has been very important to united , btu he wouldnt make first 11, neither would parker , who is a player i see in the same vein,

but i agree with your point, now i re read 🙂

Thing is, United fans probably said they weren't good enough either, but that's not really got anything to do with Adam not being good enough for them. Are they meant to say Djemba Djemba wasn't good enough for United, neither is Adam but we'll sign him for a laugh?

Fletcher does his job better than adam
Giggs does a FARRRR better job in cm than adam as does scholes

Carrick on his day performs a better role, altho concistency is an issue!

But isn't that what United do? Buy players who have "got something" and make them into better players? They do not usually buy finished products or superstars? The main exceptions to this were Berbatov and Veron, neither of which worked brilliantly

Yes they do but he's not an 18 year old kid, he's 25(?) you want someone with more than just "something" at that age plus what he's got is decent set piece taking and the odd Hollywood ball, think United want more than that.

It wont be Buffon or Schwartzer

Itl be De gea most likely, possible Steklenburg and an outside shot of that young Portuguese guy

I think Fergie will sign modric for midfield, not my first choice, but seems pretty likely

Spurs sell their top players, hsitory has shown that, the fact thay they havent got champions league football means theyre twice as likely to sell! Their past trades with united makes it more likely

The club doesnt show the ambition to hold onto their best assests, modric is available

Harry will huff and puff about huge price tags for all his players but if united show a genuine interest , most of the players would love the step up, and it suits united as thay have shown PL pedigree

modric could be a good fit too!

trying to catch a mini league leader.. knew he had brought berbs in so i want for a differential. it was ironic that it was the 2 city players he had over the last 2 games did me in...

lescott and johnson got him 33 points from the last 2 games

I know what your saying and empathise with your example but I disagree in this case. Wolves werent SAFE until 2 minutes into injury time when spurs finished brum off so they hardly were participating in this for a lengthy period. Whilst Bburn went out and won the game so you really cant criticise that. It was a long and emotional game so you cannot blame them from taking the foot off the pedals at the end. They are human, not robots! The result was all that matters

Wonder if anyone went and smacked Barry Ferguson on the back of the head when he was sat on the pitch at full time. God I hate him.

Nah. I'm actually a Leeds fan.

I'm just referring to the incident in the Carling Cup final when he smacked Koscielny on the back of the head. Really grinded my gears.

Thanks to all of you for your advice from about GW20, about the time I discovered this site.

    Next season I'll:
    1. Set up a league with mates with a bit of money involved
    2. Follow this site
    3. Avoid taking as many hits as this year
    4. Win money 🙂

As it stands N'Zogbia's rescinded assist reduces the league leaders points total by 3 meaning that he and I tie on 2201 points each and hands me the league title by transfer difference!
