Yes folks, it’s the day (night) we’ve all been waiting for. It’s here. Finally.

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has opened its doors for season 2011/12.

After a few false starts last week, with the new look needing one or two final tweaks, everything is now in order and we can begin to pick our squads ahead of the big kick-off on the 13th of next month.

So waste no more time and head on over to the Premier League official site to begin picking your fifteen.

We’ll have a further round-up of some of the prices in a little while but in the meantime, put off your bedtime for just a while. FPL is back.

Oh, and in case you are all wondering: Aleksander Kolarov is priced at 6.5. Don’t all rush at once, now.

No more rotating players it seems with the shocking prices. Your first 11 is more important than your 15 now. I can see myself spending less time at it this year. Whyyyyyyyyy change it? It was perfect!

    Won't be going anywhere near Cesc and Lampard at the start. United players I'd find it hard to invest. Maybe Valencia as he's only 8 but there's bound to be rotation. Fabio is a bargain if he's a regular starter

Hm, I get this error when I try to make transfers:

I like that My Team lets you know whether a player has a home or away game - nice touch.

Dirk Kuyt could be a valid fantasy option with this EA Index malarky. They may have found a way to reward investment in players that are key to teams but not in a typical goals and assist way.

Hell, we may even buy defensive mids with this new bonus point system!

The three best performing players in each match according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index will receive additional bonus points. 3 points will be awarded to the highest scoring player, 2 to the second best and 1 to the third.
