ENTRY HAS NOW CLOSED AND THE DRAW HAS BEEN MADE
On Wednesday night the doors were kicked open. After days of speculation, frustration and some unlikely conspiracies, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) launched a new site, new rules and a new start to our Fantasy seasons.
The player list tinkering is now taking place in earnest as the ardent Fantasy Managers look to steal a march on the casual brigade. Leagues are already in place – sign-up’s underway.
The “classic” Fantasy Football Scout League is already available via this code (code: 490-626). Now, though it’s time to take on the behemoth that is now our ten (the impending Reserve League included) Head to Head leagues…
Those of you that were involved in our Head to Head leagues last year should, all being well, have already received the code to your new division for next season (if not, details follow later on how to rectify this – there are deadlines so don’t delay) not long after the game went live, so now it’s down to enticing new entrants.
Last year we ran seven (twenty man) Head to Head leagues. This season we are going to add another two onto the pile leaving us with nine of these in total as we continue to grow and grow – this opens up 38 more places (alongside 6 spaces already confirmed to be filled in Head to Head 7) for our community to snap up. If you want to try and squeeze into FFS H2H 8 (with Fantasy Football Scout business brain Chris, or “elfozzie” to you) or FFS H2H 9 (with myself, sorry folks!) be sure to follow the upcoming instructions…
Please email me at andy@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with the heading “FFS Head to Head: New Entry” with these very specific details as entry:
- Fantasy Football Scout User Name (nickname used to post comments with)
- Full name
- Link to your Fantasy Premier League team or ID number
Make sure you provide the correct link. This can be found by clicking ‘History’ under your kit on your team page. It should be of the form ‘http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/X/history/’ (where X is your unique 1 to 7 digit team ID number – for example, mine is 89). N.b. links are represented differently than in past years so don’t get caught out.
If you fail to provide all of these details or enter by the closing date below, then your entry will become invalid so make sure to check everything is correct.
Deadlines are going to be tighter this year, so you’ll need to be quick as entry for these closes just a couple of weeks away at midnight (GMT) on Friday July 29 – a week today. All valid entries will then be put into a (hypothetical) pot, with 44 drawn at random and assigned to a league based on their final ranking from last season.
If, by the time deadline for entry closes, there are also any unclaimed spots in the pre-determined seven Head to Head leagues above, then places will also be up for grabs and added into the mix for new applicants to potentially sneak their way in; a “golden ticket” up the newly formed league structure all the way to FFS H2H 1 could also be on the cards if you’re lucky and did well enough last season.
This is where the qualifiers for the aforementioned seven leagues get their instructions if they need them. If you haven’t yet received an email with your new league code then please get in touch with me using exactly the same instructions as for new applicants but header your email with “FFS Head to Head: League Code” instead, and ask for your code. All of those who qualified by finishing in the top 28 places in the Reserve League last year, for example, will need to email me as I don’t have any of your contact details on record – the onus is upon you to claim what is yours in the next week. Be fast to make sure you don’t miss out on what you earned last year.
Finally, for those already qualified, you’ll also need to make sure your team is registered under the same email as last season as I will be checking the 2010/11 scores to verify your entries.
The process of promotion and relegation from these leagues are perhaps best left to be show in image form one more time so as my garble doesn’t confuse anyone. If you have any queries then don’t hesitate to comment (I’ll do my best to respond quickly), email (be aware I expect to be inundated with these) or tweet (perhaps most likely for me to see) in my direction and I’ll do my best to get back to you. The picture representation once again is…
There you go – that’s more than enough to take in for now. Don’t forget to get your emails in before the H2H league deadline – next Friday.

Just wondering are players like Ben Arfa(5.5m) Barton(6m) Guttierrez(6m) worth a punt even though Newcastle without a decent forward?
Is Rio Ferdinand worth 6.5m even if he stays fit?
