Second one is better I think. 3 cheap forwards doesn't give you much wriggle room should RVP, Rooney or Tevez start the season on fire. Nani is a rotation risk nowadays, Kuyt's role is likely to be back on the wing. Walcott and VDV could be nice differentials though, don't see them in too many teams.

morning max, ya its pretty addictive! i thought ur defence looked too expensive but checked & mine costs d same i just gave myself a rotating option instead of 3 very strong starters. just a thought but maybe have a look @ changing wilshere (unless nasri & fabs leave, actually if they both leave i'll have a look @ ramsey). ya its hard to look past chelsea & city with there opening fixtures but no1 knows who'll start from their forwards, alot of ppl seem to be getting in midfielders yaya/silva/malouda to cover attacking options from those clubs. ppl are also saying suarez mayb rested for the start of the season?

Definitely picking up a Sunderland back, though as of now, really couldn't tell you who, hoping there is more light shed on their lineup over the coming weeks. Once their cards are all on the table, so long as they don't rotate their squad, they'll definitely be the best cheap 4.5 options IMO

I agree of course that you can't get much dodgier in the back than Wigan...but as I'm struggling to cut the budget, I am going to still pick up Alcarez for their first 3 Gameweeks. Three straight games against promoted squads, 2 of those at home....you really can't ask for a much easier path for defense to get their footing, even if those teams are coming out with "promotion-squad-zeal", it's then or NEVER for a punt on Wigan's D.

By Gameweek 4, will likely be looking at shifting things around and depending on how everyone opens the season, will go from there. Will be trying to watch alot of the bottom dwellers right out the gate and determine which squad looks the best option for CS's.

Bramble scored fairly well in the 1st half of last season, picking up some bp's as well. That said turner would be their number 1 cb if fit. Big wraps on him before his injuries last year. O'shea if not injured woul be your best bet @ 5.0, named club captain. Wes brown may be a good pick up if he cements a place. But with bardsley and onuoha both contending for the last spot at LB, and bramble, turner fighting for CB, could be risky.

Personally: 1, O'Shea, 2, Bramble/turner

Because he is playing the final of the Copa America tonight, so he won't be back in Liverpool for another couple of days. With a hectic schedule and no training with the rest of the team I think he will have trouble at the start of the season.....! But I might be wrong...

Yeah he will start regularly, but it will be out wide so hes almost a reverse OOP player. Not going to be near my team unless he starts to light up the league, which i doubt.
