I can already tell that AVB is going to annoy me. Every season there is one manager that screws me over, it'll be him this season. I can't hate him though becasue he is from the land that created Nandos.
haha. yeh true... he has alluded to the flexibility of his squad and i think his exoeriments will extend into the season. The only Chelsea players i would possibly include are cech, cole, terry, lamps and malouda.
I wouldn't even include Malouda in that. He faces competition too. Benayoun/Anelka/Kalou/Sturridge.
Benayoun is gold in my opinion, AVB will be easier to read than the bill Belichek of footy SAF. He values players that can be versatile, minimize mistakes and be aggressive. Malouda will be rotated heavily,, and maybe niche in there if they play 4-3-3 a LOT. But they won't. Kalou has no IQ, Sturridge seems bracketed left or right never centrally; and there's no way McEachran gets the hot urine treatment. Torres seems too aggressive to be left out and AVB only seems to be letting the 'single striker' talk continue to force competition internally. Benayoun plays with too much energy to keep out, not to mention the chemistry between he and Torres is undeniable. Fat Frank at this point seems to be in the way...as usual, but he definitely knows how to assimilate better than an unpredictable and erratic Anelka. This team really needs Anelka and Kalou out of the picture. I do love the order The Rock placed them in.
Mine was that douche-bag Hughes at Fulham....especially the double game weeks when he screwed Simon Davies...hard.
Fighting for the spot with Torres if they play one striker like they've done occasionally in friendlies

Yossi. Don't screw around with 'an abductor strain waiting to happen'...or 'Mr. might as well cut his right leg off'. That's all you need is another suspect captain choice when you have 3 and a possible 5 other captain choices. With the new changes in bonus points, Frank is not my choice. He doesn't control the rock enough. He might be using stoolies like McEachran now to do the work it takes to really be in the hole. He hasn't shown me that he can transition into that player that can adapt to his diminished athleticism. He will easily become opposing team's scouting report victim.
Go with Yossi and monitor for favor/bumps/bruises/formations. Otherwise you'll be like half his owners and spend the final 1/3 of the game hoping someone gets brought-down in the box.
I think chelsea attackers are to risky for now, adam is my main concern. 9 mil quite alot

Like it. Only possible question I have is Gibbs. Arsenal are not the most solid at back, and there'll be a lot of shifting around there.
If you're a believer, stick with it. Otherwise I'd look around for a 5.5 defender, or 6.0 if you swap out Kenny for Ruddy.

Not too bad, I'm not sure about Downing tbh. Bit of a risk to have him in straight away, theres a lot of other options for that price that you could even save money on. I think RVP is essential... but thats just me. Remember he scored 2 vs Newcastle away last season. 😉
Ohh and I'm after getting in Carroll for Suarez because I read a few articles saying suarez wouldnt feature vs Sunderland. Not sure though.

Cheers for the comment, Yeah I've changed my team about 50 times and Silva has been in and out. I think It would be better to have lamps. On pens and some FK's and maloudas not even a nailed on started with AVB. Yaya has some good potential as well anyway 🙂

I think I might be going RVP captain gmwk 1. Scored 2 away to newcastle last year and hes always in and around the goals. Might be a bit of a differential as well for gmwk 1 as captain. I'd have silva over yaya if i had the money though. I think he will be worth it, Chelsea have a good start, might get a pen or two and Lamps will be going all out to impress the new boss 🙂 he scored in their friendly the other day too.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much from him, but if I can't find an extra 0.5m then the 4.5m midfielders are pretty sparse... There doesn't seem to be too much in the bargain bin this season, from what I can see.
I'm not really in the loop as far as the promoted teams go, which is hindering me in my search for cheap squad fillers.
Tell me your defenders mate, might be able to reccomend a cheap one from the promoted teams that has some potential. all my defenders are relatively cheap.
I've only started properly playing around with it today- been on holiday. I'm thinking Baines-Kompany-W.Brown, and then I'm weighing up getting an expensive keeper, in which case I'll want 2 more bargain defenders (4m or 4.5m) .... if I go the usual route and get Given instead then I'll probably get another 5-6m defender and one 4m.
I'm looking at Malouda, VDV, N'Zogbia and two cheap mids, and then Suarez, RVP/Rooney, and either Graham or Beattie. OR getting Zamora/Beckford instead of the 12m striker and upgrading my midfield.

Hernandez has a good goal scoring record...but Suarez does everything.
Just to make it clear, I think Suarez seems like a really good player. And I'm not trying to convince anyone to get Hernandez.
Hernandez scored a goal every 114 minutes. If we count assists, he scored points every 106 minutes. Suarez scored a goal every 275 minutes and if we count assists he scored points every 157 minutes. Goals will of course scored more points than assists for a striker. No idea how the bonus points will play out.
Hernandez has better service. Rooney, Young and Nani all had 10 plus assists. While Giggs and Fletcher had 6 and 7 respectively. No one from Liverpool had more than 7(Downing.)
As for the whole Hernandez won't play big games. I don't know what SAF will do. I'm guessing people think he'll play 5 in midfield, but with Scholes retired I'm not sure which 5 he'll play and maybe he might just go with Hernandez up top and Rooney wide left like he used to.

Probably because they are playing Man U and Chelsea for the first two fixtures. Most people don't like cutting their own throat as they may have a good deal of players from those teams. No one likes to have Rafael and be rooting for Peter to score a goal too...

Stoke look like they might have some bargains- Wilkinson in particular- but their first few fixtures are pretty dire. Might have to look at Wigan after all at this rate.
