Our next Members article looking at the idea of “value” sees Forwards come under the microscope. With a fresh revision of players last weekend in light of factors such as transfers and pre-season tactics, we’ve tweaked the Projected totals to give you an up-to-date reflection on our thinking. While many of our top ten value forwards are lower-priced options that perhaps may be more suited to rotation, the kind opening prices afforded to the likes of Luis Suarez and Peter Odemwingie propels a couple of FPL big-hitters firmly into our thoughts.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

      Downey is fine. 🙂

I will personally have them both for the first GW and switch to Chealea MF in GW2 meaning that I will probably get rid of Downey in GW2.

Ya I already have Malouda, so I'm just looking to fill me 2nd spot. I'm leaning towards Downing just because he is 1.0 less than Silva but it'll probably come down to whether Teves is staying at Man City or whether Suarez is ready to go for GW1.

    Given (De Vries)
    Baines Vidic Cole (O'Shea Gabbidon)
Bale Moses Sinclair De Silva (Tchoyi)
    RVP Zamora Holt

I've stuck a ton of value into defence, I may down grade O'Shea for another 4m defender to give a bit of breathing room to transfer in Odemwinge or upgrade a midfielder...

      Vidic- A 5.0 defender
      Oshea- Simpson (4.0)
Cole or Baines to Kompany (6.0)
Holt- Aguero, Rooney, Carrol or Suarez.

The lack of a big mid, and captaincy options would worry me. Say an expensive Mid starts going points crazy, I always like the option of easily getting anybody in, in any position if I want to without taking a 4 points hit in any week.

I do not think he will feature much. Ramires seems to get the nod and also Kalou over Benayoun. Mikel plays a lot and won't be dropped as a holding midfielder with other 'flair' players placed around him with Essien being injured. Chelsea midfield will be:

Lamps | Malouda | Mikel | Ramires/Kalou with either Drogba/Anelka playing the attaching supporting role to Torres (if he performs)

Benayoun will be an 80th min sub most games.

      Just my opinion

    Anyway what do you think?
GK- Given, Ruddy - Rotate nearly all season
Def- Ivanovic, Kompany, Hughes, Orr and Taylor (swa)
Ivanoivic/Hughes rotate and Orr/Taylor rotate all eeason and i have 2 strong points scorers in Kompany and Ivanovic too.
Mid- Malouda, Silva, Moses, Taarabt, Sessegnon
    Str- Suarez, RVP, Holt

Anyone concidering Briggs(Fulham)? He is listed as a defender, but has played on the left wing in several pre-season games and even scoring his first goal for the club. Valued at 4.0. Probably want get to play as much in midfield as soon as Dempsey is back, but he seems like a versatile player and might get to play another position. Anyone with a little more knowledge on the guy?

    The sneaky buggers at FPL!
Had Bent, Given and Collins already. Put in N'Zogbia before the club move.
Fine as is, got all four in, but if I go to do a transfer now (not touching any of the Villa players) it tells me I have too many Villa players and probably won't go through.

Will this sting me when the season starts, forcing me to transfer one of my Villa players out if I go to do a sub? Don't want to waste a transfer on this early on

Yep. Get rid of one of them before the season starts or your first trade will have to be a Villa player out. Or, you could go through the whole season with so transfers and 4 Villa players.

      I vote option A.

Not that sneaky to be honest, as that's the way they've handled this particular scenario in forever.

You won't be able to make any other transfers until you redress the number of Villa players in your team, but substitutions won't affect it.

For what it's worth, I'd personally feel quite uneasy with 3 Villa players, let alone 4... despite their good fixtures.

i see almost everyone avoids picking gervinho. why? wont he be starting for arsenal? isnt a much better option than RVP at 12?

also i noticed many have both sinclair and taarbart, they do rotate nicely but isnt too much spent (12.5) on newly promoted teams? unless they are really that good! isnt better to pick players that would be able to score points every week rather than rotate? (especially midfielders and forwards i mean)

Cause its Arsenal.LOL.But ya he was good in France but is unproven in England.People are not going to risk losing points on a player who might be a bust.He had a very average pre-season.He scored I think twice but he also missed some good chances.Yes its probably better to pick proven point earners than constantly rotating.Hope this helped

Would like some reply to this.I've been changing this alot but I'm happy now with who I have.
    GK--Given (Ruddy)

D--Vidic,Luiz,Cole,Kompany(I will most likely change one of the chelsea defenders after GW3 for probably clichy)
    (Simpson)

MF--VDV,Moses,N'Zogbia,Wilshere(Ferguson).It looks like there could be some better players but I think moses and Wilshere will have a good season

F--Rooney,Rodallega (Obemwingie).I can rotate these around

My first and only RMT till the 12th:

    Hart (Ruddy-unused sub)
    A Cole, Baines, Kompany,(Enrique, D Simpson)
    Silva, NZogbia, Albrighton, Taarabt, Moses
    Bent, Zamora, Rodagella

I Realise I am missing the usual suspects Rooney, RVP etc but feel that Zamora and rodagella will score much better points per pounds. Same reason I believe investment in A cole and baines is worth my fantasy pounds. Not entirely happy with midfield as I am not sure on Silva, possibly thinking Silva > YToure and Albrighton>Modric for a bit of a differential and to reduce villa coverage.

Any thoughts? More than happy to discuss points raised

Alot of people have Enriquue but he is not going to be playing for newcastle at the start of the season. He has made it clear he wants out.Zamora could be good be thats a could. He is very injury prone and fulham are not known for goal scoring.I was going to put Baines in but just remember how bad Everton are at the start of every season. They are so slow to get of the mark I am not sure how much points they can pick up.Silva,Cole,N'Zogbia,Bent,Rodagella are good and I think Moses could have a good season.Taarabt I am staying far away from.To moody wanted to leave looks like he is staying now tho.And was a bust at spurs.Maybe you should try to get some proven players.Hope this helped
