Back in the routine yet? Maybe another familiar regular is what you need to reacquaint yourself with the route to the weekend Fantasy deadline.

We’ve duly published our first Captain poll of the season, canvassing your views on the destination of the Fantasy armband ahead of the season kick-off.

Straight way, we’ve got an interesting one.

Doubts surrounding the fitness of Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez level the playing field a little, while Nani and Wayne Rooney will catch the eye, though both may look a risk against a West Brom side who will surely be well-drilled by the crafty Roy Hodgson. Perhaps a gamble on Fernando Torres at Stoke is in order? But then Didier Drogba could easily start at the Britannia, such is the uncertainty surrounding the Andre Villas-Boas teamsheet.

Votes are already streaming in. You can cast yours now via the homepage middle column and use this article to discuss the options.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The Captain Poll – Gameweek One.

Why are people not debating this?

After every article comes a stream of RTM's and is this player better than this player?

Is there no way of separating all this nonsense?

Sadly not. but you raise a good point. I was for sure picking RVP but Mr Glass showed us again how unreliable he is in injury terms. Now I wonder if he'll get the full 90 minutes. I realise before you say it, that it was an international-friendly-injury but just wonder if Mr Wenger will try to protect him with the rest of the season in mind.

Also, bearing in mind the possible postponements due to the riots, RMTs don't seem particularly useful till Friday really.

Luiz is a certain starter when fit imo. The only only gamble is if he is 100% at a time when Alex clearly is

I think what you can take from this is - nobody is any the wiser as to who will play at the moment. Perhaps injury will make it clearer for GW1 but we will never know what AVB is thinking unless he comes out and tells us. I would say that if you can't afford 7.5m, don't get Chelsea cover in

The country's debt gets bigger by the year. Imagine a company running at a massive loss - do they make redundancies, or hike prices? The cuts were necessary, the alternative being tax hikes. Either way, you can't please everyone. Cuts would have happened whoever won the last election.

I agree fully.. it's looting for the sake of thuggery and getting a freebie. My guess is that the vast majority of the 'rioters' aren't affected by 'cuts' anyway, since they probably have no intention of ever working etc. I just disagree with the notion that cuts are a 'Tory' initiative and could have been avoided. Anyway.. back to my team. Need to get it nailed by Thursday as I'm going away!

Nice starting midfield, but I can't quite work out where you are actually spending so much money to have such a bad bench, so that's a concern. Money in the bank?

Strongly recommend a Zamora > AJ or similar to give a bit of depth. Alcaraz starting in a back-3 suggests you'll be trading from very early rounds

NANI or ROONEY for captain. They are definite point scorers with the added possibility of mega points.

btw has anyone got any suggestions?

    Al-habsi
    Hangeland Kompany Riise
    Malouda(v) N'Zogbia Moses Nani(c)

    Hello again everyone.

All of those that entered the Sledgehammer H2H leagues last season would of received an e-mail with the code for this seasons league that they are now in.

But as ever, it is open to new entrants and there are still places without entrants in leagues 3 and 4. And if any entrants from leagues 1 and 2 dont fill there place by Tomorrow Midnight, then there places will open up to everyone else.

Drop me an e-mail with a link to your team history page if you are interested.

Cheers. Oh, and beating your rivals in football, is the sweetest thing.

    Gabbidon or Orr?
    Taarabt or Sessegnon?
    Silva or Yaya?
    Rooney or Nani?

So many questions, so few answers...

Orr, Sess Silva & Nani would be my picks from that motley crew 😉

Orr because I have him amd he's just bench fodder.
Sess as he's OOP and kinda proven in the prem.
Silva coz he's better... the Fabs of Man C, if he can score a few more.
Nani as Rooney seems to be playing an advanced mid role these days and Nani is opn fire, although not in my team right now.

Leaning towards Sess myself. Silva seems to be the Modric type, assisting the assist and Yaya more guaranteed to start?

Nani is tempting, but Rooney guaranteed to start more games.

I can't disagree with any of that. Go with your heart 🙂 Having said that, we have to wait until we know what ganes are going to be on, if any!
