The second gameweek of the Premier League season comes to a close tonight at Old Trafford, as champions Manchester United play host to a Tottenham Hotspur side belatedly starting their league campaign. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for business, so come in and take a seat whilst we mull over the all-important team news…

Injuries force Sir Alex to play an extremely young defence who, along with goalkeeper David De Gea, have an average age of just 22. Unforced however, is the youth in attack for the home side, who also have Javier Hernandez back in their match-day squad.

Man United XI: De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Evans, Evra, Anderson, Cleverley, Nani, Young, Rooney, Welbeck

As for the visitors, Luka Modric didn’t take the trip up the M1 because, according to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, “his head isn’t right” with speculation about his future still rife. Elsewhere, Brad Friedel makes his club debut and Jake Livermore starts after scoring midweek at Tynecastle.

Spurs XI: Friedel; Walker, Dawson, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Kranjcar, Livermore, Bale; Van der Vaart; Defoe

Take a pew in the Dugout Discussion chatroom, where you can follow all the action from tonight’s game.

          +1 Bunch of bruisers and nowt else. On a serious note, this England squad bodes well for us Scots. When the group draw was made a couple of years ago, I feared we'd almost certainly finish third. Now I feel as though we're almost certs to finish at least second over the Argies, with a decent chance of beating you guys to first place.

          2.5 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

              The 2003 squad????? I'll give you, maybe, Jason Robinson.

              2007? They famously did well despite having no flair.

              Unless you think Mark Cueto has flair, then I'm ending this debate in a funk.

                Agreed. More tries in the knock out stages for Wales in one game against England than England who won it. 2003 was a functional team, not a flair one

                  Speaking of England in 2003...I think it's time to get rid of drop goals. There used to be a skill in hoofing a heavy ball over in miner's boots on a boggy pitch, but not now. Watching forwards setting up the ball for a guy in the pocket to knock over an easy 3 points- not my idea of good rugby.

                SA aren't in great form,despite their win against (second string) All Blacks. Unfortunately, they'll still be too strong for Wales. All about the games against Samoa and Fiji- that's what's worrying me.

                    Yeah he didn't kick well. The halftime score was a ridiculous reflection of the first half, but not complaining. It's Argentina's fault for only knowing one way of scoring a try, which is 13 men wrestling the ball over the line.

                    Bit of a collapse for Ireland after a decent start?

                    You had an idiot coach when you lost to Fiji. It won't happen again.

                    Just need to make sure Hook is at the centre of everything, and you don't lose key players like A Jones, Warburton and Roberts.

                    Speaking of idiot coaches...obviously Gatland is better, but he'll still want S Jones at 10 and shove Hook to FB for 30 mins then shift him to centre. But yeah, everyone knows Hook needs to be 10!

        Good job you added that qualifier.

        I dunno what I want to happen, I have Rooney but most rivals have him (c)'d.

    I don't see these unlimited transfers, so I'm thinking i should take a 4-point hit to do this:

    Toure -> Silva
    Torres -> Suarez
