The second gameweek of the Premier League season comes to a close tonight at Old Trafford, as champions Manchester United play host to a Tottenham Hotspur side belatedly starting their league campaign. Injuries force Sir Alex to play an extremely young defence who, along with goalkeeper David De Gea, have an average age of just 22. Unforced however, is the youth in attack for the home side, who also have Javier Hernandez back in their match-day squad.

As for the visitors, Luka Modric didn’t take the trip up the M1 because, according to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, “his head isn’t right” with speculation about his future still rife. Elsewhere, Brad Friedel makes his club debut and Jake Livermore starts after scoring midweek at Tynecastle.

    United were very good in the 2nd half but Spurs looked diabolical in the middle for 30/35 mins.. Jones should be on for BPs. Rooney will probably get 2 though

    F*ck me that was casual, Spurs are goosed if they get outplayed like that on a regular basis. If Manchester City can keep their run of form up the derby could be shaping up to be epic. It was nice to see three young talented English men come off the pitch in Young, Cleverley and Welbeck at the end there, a bright future for United and England.

    Bring back the old FPL site!! everything about it was better than this. everything. even the bonus point system. the BPs were pretty accurate, once in a while there was a strange point but it awarded strong play from a player that didn't score or assist.

    The new site/system is terrible, all the bells and whistles are gone and it runs like a Ford Pinto.

      Instead of ranting about it here - do something about it. I've just emailed the FPL with my comments and feedback. I encourage you to do the same.

      I didn't mention the new bonus point system, and focused more on missing features ans usability.

        mate they even calculated the ppi wrong and gave us the wrong bonus in 4 games which still not sorted

        R.taylor shouldnt have got anything and so on and so on
        i took the ppi of the main website this morning and took off the old ppi from the transfer drop down on the fantasy website and came out with different players
        E-mailed them but nothing they updated to total ppi like the main website and now there is no freaking evidenc of them doing anything wrong

      i counted a good 5 shots on target and 2 off. he had a load of key passes too but judging by dzeko yesterday i don't think they count. would be amazed if the bps don't do to rooney, welbeck (possibly had 4 out of 4 shots on target + a goal and assist) and anderson

    I thought I'd be drunk enough to needlessly play my wc by now seeing as I know players I want are going up in price. It's not the case.

    I think I may just do Torres(c) for the hell of it, and then go and see a psychoanalyst. Fortune favours the brave (I have no idea what it does to the stupid)!

    I know United looked good tonight but I would be worried about Cleverly and Anderson in the middle they looked ordinary at times and got a lot of space from a lazy Kranjcar.
