The second gameweek of the Premier League season comes to a close tonight at Old Trafford, as champions Manchester United play host to a Tottenham Hotspur side belatedly starting their league campaign. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for business, so come in and take a seat whilst we mull over the all-important team news…

Injuries force Sir Alex to play an extremely young defence who, along with goalkeeper David De Gea, have an average age of just 22. Unforced however, is the youth in attack for the home side, who also have Javier Hernandez back in their match-day squad.

Man United XI: De Gea, Smalling, Jones, Evans, Evra, Anderson, Cleverley, Nani, Young, Rooney, Welbeck

As for the visitors, Luka Modric didn’t take the trip up the M1 because, according to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, “his head isn’t right” with speculation about his future still rife. Elsewhere, Brad Friedel makes his club debut and Jake Livermore starts after scoring midweek at Tynecastle.

Spurs XI: Friedel; Walker, Dawson, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Kranjcar, Livermore, Bale; Van der Vaart; Defoe

Take a pew in the Dugout Discussion chatroom, where you can follow all the action from tonight’s game.

i never understood the De Gea bashing. he is 20 years old and needs to make mistakes to progress. Schmeichel, Seaman, Given made big mistakes when starting out. English fans should worry more about their national keeper.

Better to make mistakes now than costly ones in April/May

He's a new keeper, of course I wince. But he's done a good job, so far.

United haven't played two halves with the same starting back four, let alone two games ... so Gea should be given a little breathing room.

That dawdling is something I love ... keepers should be players and clearly he wants to move the ball & look for distribution - rather than just lumping it forward.

Not a bad first half, but no real clear cut chances for either side. Cleverley and Anderson as a partnership is a worry without someone who can sit deep. Spurs have walked through the midfield too many times. Don't be surprised to see Carrick on for one of them. Impressed with the back four so far. Hope to see Berba or Hernandez on soon.

        a) he has, and b) that's not all a keeper has to do.

He's been good today. I don't know why I'm even writing this out to you. Brick Walls.

Shay Given is not world class. Hence why he plays for Aston Villa. And didn't play for Man City.

Might be a mistake getting rid of torres. Personally, I can't wait to get rid, but he has easy fixtures coming up. And it was just one game, remember he looked good in the first one!
