Sunday Dugout Discussion

We open the Dugout Discussion for the final four fixtures of the gameweek, and the month, before we take our first International Break breather.

Newcastle versus Fulham kicks us off with the home side calling in Peter Lovenkrands for the now departed Joey Barton and Leon Best filling a Shola Ameobi sized void. The visitors meanwhile welcome Chris Baird and Matthew Briggs at the back with a host of changes made to their midfield and attack…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Coloccini, Ryan Taylor, Lovenkrands, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez, Obertan, Best

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Briggs, Hughes, Hangeland, Baird, Dempsey, Murphy, Sidwell, Duff, Dembele, Kasami.

Half an hour later Spurs are left to pick themselves up from their defeat to Man United to welcome Man City for their first home game of the season.

Despite talk of an impending departure for Peter Crouch he lines up for ‘Arry with Luka Modric also in the mixer. Roberto Mancini rewards Micah Richards with a new contract and a place on the bench as he, Aleksander Kolarov and James Milner drop out for Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and new signing Samir Nasri…

Spurs XI: Friedel; Corluka, Dawson, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Kranjcar, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart, Crouch.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Barry, Yaya, Silva, Nasri, Aguero, Dzeko

The Dugout Discussion will be around for all four games as West Brom vs Stoke and, the big one, Man United vs Arsenal round out the day, week and month.

Dzeko may actually be enough City coverage in this form.

Since Torres needs to go, worth getting rid for Dzeko for the price rise? Don't want to get caught up in all the kneejerking but..

A worthy kneejerk. I'm on board.

He's got good fixtures, obviously in great form, and is a very good price at 8.5. This year's Berbatov hopefully minus the end of year rotation and long dry spells.

He's bound to be rotated and suffer dry spells.

        I'm bringing him in.

Because to get him in i need to WC or spend 8 points. A) He's a rotation threat still with the CL coming up. B) Just like Aguero he won't score 15 points every game. He IS on form though, so that's a big plus.

Well having Silva(C) & Richards stings a little but Dzeko definitely softened the blow! One of those weeks you wish you'd just moved that little (C) a fraction!

Now I just want Rooney to get sent off after missing a penalty in the 1st minute... Fingers crossed! 😉

It's a gamble, but early on in the season value can rise very fast and that then makes a huge difference in the run-in.

Torres will probably drop 0.2 before the 10th and Dzeko will almost certainly go up 0.2.

0.4 is a lot for one transfer.
