The final week of the August transfer window gave new QPR owner Tony Fernandes plenty chance to splash the cash and he didn’t fail to disappoint. There’s no doubt Neil Warnock’s side have strengthened substantially over the last couple of weeks and last season’s Championship winners will approach an upcoming kind run of games with renewed confidence.

Despite the acquisition of Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips, it’s Adel Taarabt who blinks loudest on our Fantasy radars and as a result, the Moroccan ranks high on the Watchlist. He may have returned just 9 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points so far this season, but Taarabt has been a threat throughout and is a little unlucky not to have picked up more substantial hauls. He’s had more goal attempts than any QPR player- his tally is just one shot less than David Silva- and has also hit the woodwork as well as creating the same number of goal scoring opportunities as the likes of Charlie Adam.

The clincher here is his set-piece duties; Barton’s arrival will give Warnock’s side a quality corner kick taker but Taarabt -priced at 6.5 in FPL- still looks nailed-on for direct free-kicks and penalties and looks likely to offer a greater attacking potential than any of his team mates.

QPR may have scored just one goal so far this campaign but the increase in quality arrivals should make them a different proposition altogether. If Warnock’s new-look side are to beat the drop, they will need to replicate the sort of form that saw them make Loftus Road something of a fortress last season. With four home games in the next six-(NEW, wol, AVL, ful, BLA, CHE)- Fernandes will be hoping his August investment is about to prove dividend.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Tchoyi if you are a gambler as he is playing OOP but might only be that way for 1 game maybe 2... Cleverley or Anderson if your equally brave...

If you are playing safe then Etherington/Petrov/Sinclair/Sessegnon

this looks practically identical to my potential wildcard team! esp the front 7. i have two different players in the whole squad. i'm giving up on n'zogbia i think, preferring jarvis with fixtures. i was worrying about no chelsea attacking cover but may think about mata in a couple of weeks.

all in all, i may have found a fantasy soul mate. for better or worse...

You need to utilise your full squad and have rotating keepers and defenders on different match days so you can sub one out in place of another - no use posting your first XI.

Sound your forward planning klaxon NOW!

I'm not wildcarding this international break. For me the two weeks between gw7 and 8 look the best time.

If anyone else thinks the same read on.

HAving a look at the fixtures it looks like...

Bolton- Spurs - Wigan - Arsenal - Villa and Stoke .... have the best of the pick for mid oct right up until the January wildcard.

At the moment that puts G Cahill - Klasnic - Adebayor - VDv if recovered - RVP - Whichever stoke mid or defender looks in form all on my radar.

looking at the final few games ahead of the jan transfer wildcard it also looks like Villa's stiffen a little and Sunderland's and swansea get better.

May be worth having a think about sunderland and stoke around early december for some cheap options.

Also worth noting that Man Utd's fixtures start becoming awesome in early December. Worth having rooney, young at all anyway, but I'll certainly be looking to get 3 man utd boys in by december.

Stoke usually are the classic "December" team to go for, given that

          a) They're a nightmare to play if you're tired.

          and

          b) They don't rotate much.

But the second of these factors may change now that they have more options and more games to play in the season.

VanPers and Dzeko are on official probation... any poor performacnes and im getting Suarez back in.

agree get ferguson out of that team now. And don't dare say "but he's just a bench warmer. If you are wildcarding now then there's no wildcard for you until Jan...soon the injuries mount up and your choice of getting a player who doesn't play will cost you dearly.

One of A Young- silva - Rooney and Van persie has to go.. Young to Mata would be good...gives that little bit extra to upgrade Ferguson. Young to Arteta would give you lots more.

De Laet is playing West Brom at home who have lost 3 out of 3 and have injury worries over Odem & Long, as well as lack of form. I'm giving Holt a chance as I believe he can score vs. Foster, if he and De Laet can't produce then, when will they?

I dont know but in all honesty I hope that he isnt going to be able to play against Wigan. I currently am on my WC and have both Silva and Nasri because I couldnt decide who to go with but an injury to one of them sure makes my decision ALOT easier.

      Nasri out for either Demps/Arteta/Mata

No one else considering the Mignolet/Krul keeper combo? Costs the same as Given Ruddy but rotates perfectly for home games and spreads the likelihood of a clean sheet more evenly.

Not a bad shout, but I prefer Krul/Vorm - a decent if not perfect rotation and I favour Vorm getting more save points than Mignolet.

Arteta or Dempsey?? I can't decide, both have great fixtures but I already have Arsenal coverage with RVP, so I'm leaning towards Demps.

As a Fulham fan I have to say... Arteta.

Fulham really aren't doing it in the Prem at the moment.

Arteta - jury is out, but could be worth some investment. I'm considering this as a way into Arsenal's fixtures

Sturridge - if he can get the right forward position could be worth something.

      Cheers guys:

Was thinking of Arteta as a decent punt for the run of fixtures they have and I fancy Sturridge to be given a chance given Chelsea's lackluster start to the season.

So playing around with some options, what you think of this top heavy setup:

    Schwarzer/Vorm
    Kompany/Bosingwa/de Laet/Olsson/Ward
    Young (or Silva)/Hoolahan/Brunt/Cabaye/Petrov
    RvP/Rooney/Suarez

Downgrade Kompany and Bosingwa and upgrade 2 of your other mids. If Bosingwa hadn't taken a pot-shot and scored, would he still be in everyone's thinking? Chelsea don't look particularly solid at the back, and neither do City. This is the season of the cheap defence.

Which mids would you upgrade? and to what?

The amount required to get them to the heavy hitters is more than decreasing Kompany and Bos would give me.

Bos is staying until he proves himself not to be a starter as he's still a Chelsea defender that gets forward and cost me 5.6. City have some nice fixtures and Kompany gives good access to that from a defence perspective.

weak midfeild for my liking...drop Suarez (difficult fixtures) get in a cheapy decent striker Gabbi....splash the cash on upgrading the midfeild.

Suarez is key to everything Liverpool do. I think that regardless of fixtures he's good for a goal or assist every game (on average).

It does offer the best way to upgrade midfield.

I like it - I'd go with Silva over Young, think you need a City attacker with their fixtures, and Silva is at the heart of most of City's good work. Having all 3 of your strikers as good captaincy options doesn't hurt, either.

Ye, I think City offence is required, and with Nasri injured, Silva could be key.

Silva and Rooney both make more sense than Walcott, they are just as likely to do damage and have much higher ownership. For the same reason I'm considering them above RVP.
