Having been stalled by the international break and a glamorous trip back to Manchester, I take my seat alongside Mark in the studio once again, desperately wrestling for air time against the prolific gabber spewed from the ScoutCast host. Mark tries to be on his best behaviour in this episode, knuckles wrapped by a frustrated listener deprived of my pearls of wisdom by his constant interruptions, you can sense the intense effort as Mark holds his silence.

It’s not easy; once again we’ve a contentious issue to discuss – Rooney’s dubious assist back in Gameweek three still nags away at those without the folically challenged hot-shot. The new assist ruling gets the ScoutCast treatment then, accompanied by the usual half-arsed analysis of the Gameweek fixture list and the likely protagonists involved.

Click here to see if Mark holds his tongue.

Agreed. Thanks for the entertainment. Do ya'll really think so highly of Walcott. He's just as much of an injury punt as RVP dont you think. Speaking from past experience.

Have you missed a beat on the prices? Sure.

Do you think you need to play a wildcard now, for whatever reason? If so, then play it.

No United coverage killed me last gameweek. I already brought in Van Persie for Torres but would also like Dzeko in for Bent. Do you think he is worth a 4 point hit?

Is anyone tempted to go with both Nasri and Silva instead of Nasri/Silva and Dzeko?

I’m going to keep Silva, but I’m a bit torn between

    Brunt & Dzeko
    OR
    Nasri & Holt

    Hmmm.

Nah. I thought about it, but nah. It just isn't worth it when Dzek's a mil cheaper and Nasri has as much risk of rotation as him. More 6.0 mids than 5.5 forwards as well.

      For me your priorities are:

Senderos, Young, Surman - followed by Saha when he gets injured, overpaying for Lampard and then Ramsey/Sinclair's form.

      So on that basis:

Senderos/Young out - Warnock/Simpson in - Warnock to restore your AVL cover and Simpson to rotate with Brown.

Sound good, but a touch sideways and when you consider you still have Saha, Senderos and Luke Young on the books still, so I wouldn't say they're a priority. We're not sure how this new-look Arsenal are going to fair and Sinclair may nab a penalty etc.

Surman as well; cripes. It's too late to WC for the time being. Young will play and has a good fixture plus Senderos may come good. As Ilamza said it's all about priorities and I suppose you need to focus on your attacking potential before focusing on the defence.

Ward De Laet Bosingwa (Brown Taylor)

    Young Brunt Cabaye Silva (Dyer)

Hmmm - interesting one... I'd go for A myself I think. Don't think much of Brunt myself, and while RVP is likely to do well over the next few weeks, I reckon Suarez is good for the long run and Arteta could do well at Arsenal.

Basically, I'd prefer 2 big time mids rather than 1 top notch forward and a middling mid...

Hi, I was wondering how much of a rotation risk bosingwa is now that Luiz is fit and Ivanovic can play right back? Also is Micah Richards worth having long term with Zableta?

    Open Controls

I would have thought Bosingwa is safe because he's the only right back we have that fits into AvB's style of play, plus he's in great form at the moment. He may be benched for the really tough games, like United away, but a) he's still great value and b) you probably wouldn't start him anyway.

      Wouldn't touch Micah Richards.

Yeah he was excellent that night, still should have given a penalty away mind. But in general he's pretty hopeless defensively, that one game wasn't a good representation of his [lack of] defensive talents.

Preened, posed, sort publicity at every turn, been vain, egotistical, posturing & nasty. But you're right, I don't know him so can't possibly interpret these traits as making him loathsome... Come on Tom, he's a prize-winning nob & being a wonderful athlete excuses none of it.

Messi is SO good at what he is good at, that it makes him great, but Ronaldo has almost everything. Its actually hard to say who the better player is, I suppose you have to think who you would rather have in your team, and I can't decide. I like Ronaldo more and more and Messi less and less recently.

Everyone has their opinion but Messi wins it everytime for me. I do think Ronaldo can be taken out of a game and he has in the past gone missing in games. Just doesnt happen with Messi. I am in awe of ROnaldo's abilities as well but think Messi is just off the planet

I suppose, there's nothing I hate more than the pathetic YouTube comment arguements about the two so I don't want to go on about it, but they're both fantastic, I feel Messi is more dangerous consitently yes, but its just great we're able to have the debate. Also, I have seen Messi do some deplorable things in games, so he's no angel. But no footballer is.

I've managed to erase that from my memory, worst night ever. Although, in a way I'm glad we didn't win it, because now thats what we are striving for and the longer it takes for it to happen, the better it will feel when it does. F*cking Anelka though, awful pen.

Ballack is now third choice DM for Bayer Leverkusen behind Bender and Rolfes. Bayer took the unusual step in the last transfer window of telling the press that they would listen to offers for Ballack, due (one assumes) to a combination of high salary, poor performance and unpopularity in the dressing room caused by unmerited arrogance.

There were two transfer bids from overseas clubs, I believe, but Ballack rejected them both. One very good reason for this is that his wife has suddenly bought a house in Bavaria and moved out there taking the kids with her. Difficult times for Herr Ballack.

Matt Le Tiss was the penalty king (amongst many other regal attributes). Scored 50 odd, only ever had one saved. Shoulda been in every England squad for that reason for starters!

Sticking with French news, Steed Malbranque has finally revealed this evening his "serious personal reasons" for quitting Saint-Etienne:

I terminated my contract with AS Saint Etienne because I wasn't enjoying training any more. And if there isn't any more pleasure, then there's no point going on. I could have stayed in my corner and cashed my cheque but that's not the way I work. [...] All the lights were green. I thought I'd made the right choice but after three weeks I realised that I'd made a mistake. I thought I was going to express myself fully, enjoy myself. That wasn't the case.

    Which 2 from:

    Silva, Nasri, Young?

Or have all 3 of them by dropping Rooney for Suarez and upgrading Brunt?

    Currently:

    Krul - Vorm
    Bos - Enrique - De Laet - Simpson - N.Taylor
    [2 of Nasri/Silva/Young] - Brunt - Petrov - Dyer
    RVP - Rooney - Dzeko

    Thanks!

I like the Krul-Vorm combo, I'm toying with that or Given/Ruddy. The first means I can upgrade simpson to S.Taylor.
