Having been stalled by the international break and a glamorous trip back to Manchester, I take my seat alongside Mark in the studio once again, desperately wrestling for air time against the prolific gabber spewed from the ScoutCast host. Mark tries to be on his best behaviour in this episode, knuckles wrapped by a frustrated listener deprived of my pearls of wisdom by his constant interruptions, you can sense the intense effort as Mark holds his silence.

It’s not easy; once again we’ve a contentious issue to discuss – Rooney’s dubious assist back in Gameweek three still nags away at those without the folically challenged hot-shot. The new assist ruling gets the ScoutCast treatment then, accompanied by the usual half-arsed analysis of the Gameweek fixture list and the likely protagonists involved.

Click here to see if Mark holds his tongue.

    Valuable observation:

Although Nasri and Silva got similar points per game last year, Nasri got 10 goals to Silva's 4. This year goals pretty much = BPs. So...

was set on bringing Dzeko in for Bent but looking at the fixtures from next week on i want to keep bent again, is Yaya out Taarabt in a good move? surely with all the players city have now yaya wont be getting many points? also means my frond 7 are all on pens 😀

YES to Bent. I'm keeping faith; his next 4 home games involve Newcastle, Wigan, Norwich and maybe Wolves? (I think). Potentially worthy of the armband in some of those if Villa can find some consistency!

How does this look for a WC team?

        Krul Vorm
Enrique Kompany Bosingwa Ward De Laet
        Silva Arteta Jarvis Brunt Dyer
        Rooney RVP Dzeko

Thining about Enrique for Warnock for some Villa cover at the back. Want to have Enrique in my team, but want some Villa cover in defence too.

Yeh im not including Enrique simply because Liverpools fixtures dont look friendly for clean sheets. Warnock looks a good fit to me. Another option is mayb Brown from Sunderland?( altho im not sure on their fixtures)
I wouldnt double on Arsenal but at that 8m price tag its kinda hard to go past Arteta. Your call.
Jarvis may be injured for the weekend so keep an eye on that.
          Solid team tho.

Very like my quandry - I shipped Suarez out last night to get Arteta in, now I'm thinking to get RVP in - Petrov is good for the price. Over the season I see Suarez as being a consistent source of points, and RVP being a boom/bust, so it'll all be down to timing & fixtures. With Arsenals run I'm tempted to go RVP as Arteta hasn't had a game yet so not sure how he fits...
      so A.

I got Ruiz in as a tempting differential, but worried about not having RVP for the next few weeks. It this madness?

Thinking of Ruiz, Arteta & Nasri ----> RVP, Jarvis & Brunt

Reckon RVP will be worth it, or stick with the plan?

    Rest of team is:

    Krul (Vorm)
    Berra/DeLaet/Bosingwa (Simpson/ Brown)
    Arteta/Nasri/Silva/Young (NDyer)
    Dzeko/Rooney/Ruiz

I doubt think there is any doubt that Arsenal are in terrible form. In saying that tho RVP has still managed to find the net. I would normally like to wait until Arsenal hit some form (which they easily could this weekend with SWA) but not having RVP could cost u double digits this week. Personally im goin with RVP. Be careful with Jarvis' fitness but you could always go with Cabaye.
In summary i would make those transfers imho.

Anybody know much about Norwich? This is the current lineup on the Team News page.

Predicted Lineup: Rudd, Naughton, Barnett, De Laet, Tierney; Fox, Crofts, Surman, Hoolahan; Morison, Holt.

I noticed that Bradley Johnson is not included, despite playing the last 2 games and getting an assist. Is that because it's out of date information or is this really the likely lineup? I had been considering Johnson as my 2nd or 3rd sub.

    RMFWCT

    Given (Vorm)
Bosingwa, Warnock, De Laet (Ward, N.Taylor)
    Silva, Dempsey, Taarabt, Hoolahan (M.Petrov)
    Dzeko, Rooney, Van Persie (C)

Taking a punt on Dempsey and Hoolahan. Dempseys fixtures look good. Haven't given up on Hoolahan just yet. I know he got rotated against Stoke and subbed off against Chelsea but I think he's their best player and he rotates nicely with Bolton's Petrov.

Defense looks kinda weak but I think I can field a decent backline for weeks to go. Not quite sure about doubling up on Villa defense but it might work out.

Given and Vorm dont rotate that well.
Doubling on Villa is a gamble that i dont think will pay off. Doubling on Swansea I think is suicide.
I like your midfield as long as you are happy paying 8.5 for Dempsey. I think he is a great pick but is just out of my price range.

Don't fancy a Villa cleansheet even with Everton toothless upfront, but will probalbly have to field Given & Warnock myself.

Dempsey punt is a good one - fancy him to do well this week, although be interesting to see how Ruiz gets on and impacts upon Dempsey's goal-scoring impetus.

Pretty solid team all round in fairness.

    Vorm, Kenny
Baines, Bosingwa, Kompany, De Laet, Simpson
    Silva, Adam, Petrov, Dyer, Cabaye
    RVP, Rooney, Holt

Realise there is a bit of money in the defense but the plan is to ship out Baines in GW6 (unless he goes mental the next few gameweeks) for 4.5 def giving me money to upgrade either Holt or one of my lesser mids.

Quite a light midfield given that you have 1 cheapie up front, although very much tempted by Holt myself this week (for Torres)to free up a bundle of cash to improve my midfield.

Is Adam worth the price, particularly when Gerrard comes back?

Want to wait on Adebayor to see how he goes first. Enriques fixtures arent promising the next few weeks so clean sheets will be few and far between.

Rvp or he of the newly "acquired" barnet????

Didn't have Rooney for 1st 3weeks, have played WC but am seriously thinking rvp, principally most in my mini league have Rooney and rvp is a mini differential ATM

Rooney over RVP for me but I do have both. RVP can easily get double digits tho so if you want that differential then go for it.

It's a very tricky choice me thinks, Finished top 50k last year at first attempt and playing h2h only, but it seems more difficult this year

best mid for 4.5 other than dyer?

is it worth 2 4.5 mids to rotate if the forwards and defense is very strong?

Bradley Johnson from Norwich if he continues to get picked. He's played the last two and got an assist from freekick. Also takes corners.

If you want nailed on starters consider Karl Henry or Cheik Tiote but they will rarely get more than a couple of points.

nice. I like it. its got some sneaky differentials in there.
The only thing is doubling up on Arsenal in such bad form isnt a good idea imo. RVP probably all the cover u need but then again Walcott can score good points.

Off to bed so I won't see you copying my awesome WC team (Jarvis permitting).

    Given - Vorm
Baines - Bosingwa - (Ward) - De Laet - (Simpson)
    Mata - Arteta - Jarvis - (Petrov) - Brunt
    Rooney (C) - Dzeko - Suarez
    £0.2m

Just do me the honour of crediting me when on here boasting on Sunday night 🙂

N'Zog > Arteta.... Worth a four point hit?

N'zogbia has really shown nothing for Villa yet, but they do have somewhat favourable fixtures coming. Arsenal have better figures, but I consider them something of an unknown commodity, given their recent form and new transfers.

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

not worth a 4 pointer imo as the likelyhood of arteta outscoring nzog by 4 isnt high. The unknown factor of Arteta (and Arsenal for that matter) is too big a risk imo. The only Arsenal player i would take a hit for is RVP.

Totally agree with that. Unfortunately, I made an early transfer to get Dzecko before his price rose. I'd love to downgrade and grab Mata, but that would mean an 8 point hit, unless I swap him for Silva, which I am not ready to do yet.
