Neil Warnock needs a leader and makes Joey Barton the new QPR captain. Kevin Davies apologises to Tom Cleverley after a wayward tackle at the Reebok sidelined the Man United youngster. Andre Villas-Boas looks to ring the changes in Europe tonight, while an annoyed Rafael Van der Vaart expects to be ready for the weekend game with Liverpool. Here’s a few Scribbles this morning, folks:

QPR’s goalless draw at home to Newcastle last night saw Neil Warnock surprisingly hand the captain’s armband to Joey Barton, with previous skipper Adel Taarabt relinquishing duties. Warnock explained the reasoning behind the move:

“It was just a logical thing really. I had a chat with Adel last week. Adel was straight away right about it. He appreciates how far we have come now and that we need to drive on now. We need somebody as our leader.

Kevin Davies has apologised to Tom Cleverley for the tackle that has sidelined the Man United youngster for the next few weeks. Rumours circulated the internet that Cleverley had criticised the Trotters forward via Facebook after the challenge but Davies clarified the matter, revealing the pair have already spoken:

I didn’t realise after the game, so I put a call in to him and he was fine. I am pleased that there is no serious damage for him. By all accounts he had a fake [profile] saying I didn’t offer an apology. That’s why I got his number and put the call in. I actually texted him and he rang me back and said he had seen the tackle and didn’t think it was that bad.

Andre Villas-Boas admits he will have Sunday’s game at Man United when considering his Chelsea starting XI this evening. The Blues face Bayern Leverkusen and Ramires is suspended and while Didier Drogba continues to recover from concussion, Villas-Boas needs to decide whether to recall Fernando Torres or leave the out-of-sorts Spaniard on the bench:

You’ll see some changes. Then we’ll make wise decisions for Sunday.

Rafael Van der Vaart is not too happy with Harry Redknapp. The Dutchman has been left out of Spurs’ squad for the Europa League group stages and insists Redknapp’s decision came without any sort of warning . In a section under the headline “annoying” on his personal website Van der Vaart wrote:

I still think it’s a peculiar situation. Spurs could at least have consulted me. Anyway it’s up to the point of no return.

Van der Vaart also confirmed he expects to be available for this weekend’s match with Liverpool after intensive treatment on his problem hamstring.

Redknapp was dealt a bitter blow yesterday with the news that Michael Dawson is expected to be sidelined for two months with an Achilles injury picked up in training. Having released Jonathan Woodgate in the summer, the Spurs boss will be more reliant than ever on Ledley King right now; with William Gallas also injured, King and Younes Kaboul struck up a solid partnership in central defence last weekend in the 2-0 win at Wolves.

Liverpool look to be without Glen Johnson for at least another month. The right-back appeared late on in the game at Stoke but suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury that has already plagued his start to the season. Kenny Dalglish faces a selection dilemma ahead of his side’s trip to Tottenham- Martin Kelly is also injured, leaving John Flanagan or Martin Skrtel as an option.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Jaysus Christo. now i've seen bitchin and moanin on here over the years but sheeet's gettin outta hand. Like (i presume) most on here i have money on this game and so can get quite nonplussed when things don't go my way for whatever reason, but please, get a grip. These are only imaginary points on a fantasy game. who gives a $hit if now and again things go against ya, next week it'l probably balance out. i do wonder tho how spoiled people on here are. Do y'alls have any idea what's goin on in the rest of the world and how fortunate you are to even be able to play this game, let alone have it be the thing that bothers you the most? LIFE ISN'T FAIR. so please quit bein such whiney little bitches and have some perspective. y'alls is bringin the tone of the site down with your selfish, childish tantrums. End of rant i spose.

every moaning post on here is a clone of countless others that've gone before. peeps don't read back to see whether their own personal grievance has been given an airing. sign of the times maybe. everyone's special. i dunno how many peeps like to read back on the previous pages of posts to catch up on what's been goin down but if ya do ya'll see the exact same issues bein moaned about with such regularity it's actually worse than the RMT flood. Bring back RBJ. at least his moans were entertaining, not simply the ramblings of smug self-important little brats whose bigggest problem in this world is that their rival has simpson comin offf the bench.

I've been waiting for the opportunity to regale someone with my little success story of last week.

Last Friday night circa 11pm I faced the dilemma of my season so far, stick with Aguero or ship him for Dzeko, and incur a four point hit? Earlier in the week I had abandoned the floundering Torres for Rooney. In my time of need I resorted to asking the advice of the FFS community. Considering the Zeitgeist of instant gratification that prevails in these parts, its hardly surprising that I was urged to take the hit and adopt the explosive Bosnian. I stuck with my instinct and kept Aguero.

Well you can tell where this story's going. I jumped seven places in my mini league and now have my sights set on the top spot.

Imagine the smuggest head you possibly can, multiply it by ten and it still doesn't even come close to my expression right now.

No bonus points for SWP - really?! Don't think we need any more proof that the new system doesnt work as it should. I like the fact defenders seem to be getting more recognition for their hard work rather than the flair players hogging the points, but SWP was the best player on the park.

They're only going to pull further away if you don't have him. He looks like the only essential player at the moment. You should look for a differential else where.

Really dont know, I fully expect Swansea to get their first premier league goal at WBA and Dyer seems to be involved in alot of their attacking play and they are at home.

However Brunt will be back fresh after his rest and is on the majority of set peices and I also think WBA to score.

Ideally id like both but my other options arent benchable?

I wouldn't WC yet. RVP and Suarez could still perform. Midfield needs a bit of work. I'd go for

          Torres > Rooney
          Midfielder > Better midfielder

Take the 4 point hit and see how this weekend pans out

The problem is if I get Rooney in for Torres I have to downgrade a midfielder, not get a better one 🙁 Also, if I do wildcard, is it worth making some adjustments and getting in Mata for Arteta? He looks like a likely starter for the next month at least.

Surley if your keeping Sess you have to play him at home to Stoke.

I don't know if you've watched much of Sunderlands play but although he is not performing FPL wise he is still playing very well and is unlucky not to have got any more points yet.

Belive it or not I am bringing him in this week for Cabaye after his invisible performance last night.

I currently have Sess/Brunt, although I do feel Swans will finally break the scoring drought so I would like to play Sinclair over Brunt for your team I think as he should definatley be involved in any goals. Hard decision though I admit...

For me there's a better option for a 4.5 keeper, Vermeer should get his game for Ajax so worth a shot. Any other 4.0 keeper will do.

6 and 2 3s really but I'd sooner have Ozil than Sneijder. I agree some Inter cover is probably needed but at the expense of RM cover?

Are you not planning on going 2,5,3? If not maybe upgrade Cabral to Shaqiri. Cabral wont play anyway so you aren't losing much + I reckon you can find the extra 0.5 from somewhere - maybe Zanetti to Sagna or even Nagatomo.

I'd personally switch RVP to someone who will get you goals too, Muller (8.0), Anelka (8.0), Rossi (8.0) or Pazzini (9.5) if you prefer Sneijder to Ozil for your Real cover.

So what are us Djeko owners hoping for? That he plays a blinder in in CL and gets rested in this weekends FPL?

Hold on. He's made most people a bit of money and I reckon he'll play this weekend. I'm keeping for a few weeks then maybe downgarding to Ade/ Odem when the situation's clearer.

I hope he doesnt play again meaning he should do at the weekend!

Realsitcally he and Aguero will play, possibly Tevez in for Aguero at the weekend.

I am seriously tempted to captain him - would be a good differential if it comes off, as most of my league will be captaining Aguero or Rooney. Then again I could just fall further behind!

    Random poll: Favorite aftershave?

Donna really doesn't like Polo Sport or Tommy, but now that it doesn't matter, I'm going to buy some. I really like those. The other favorite is Davidoff Cool Water, which is similar.

Whether or not it is, I need to start acting like it is. I am a bit over-tenacious though. So if you'd ask Donna, the answer would be yes, I'd say "It seems that way at the moment".

it appears the new bonus point system will award you for either being brilliant and very accurate or just doing nothing and not making mistakes. I have Obertan so kept my eye on his performance last night - my eye barely moved.

hernandes instead of fletcher is not a gamble

neither is walters who is playing as a forward and listed as a midfielder and is on spot kicks whilst toure is now playing a DM role at Man City

I am tempted to ship out jose enrique for now and bring in a villa defender. Good decision?

I know lpool have wolves at home next week but their fixtures are rather tough apart from that whilst villa's are in comparison easier and also mcleish will keep it tight.

I made the huge mistake of playing fixtures earlier in the season

        Torres (c)
        RVP (c)
Picking RVP instead of Rooney this wknd.

I think I may just stick with enrique as if I go towards a villa defender surely that's playing to fixtures again?
