We’re trying a new approach to the ICT articles, focussing on individual teams and tactical decisions in the Gameweek gone by. Saturday’s game at the Stadium of Light saw three players -Raul Meireles, Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge- all make their first league starts of the season for Chelsea and Nicolas Anelka also played the central role of the front three for the first time this campaign.

The 2-1 win means Chelsea maintain their chase of both Manchester clubs at the top of the table and all four played a significant part in the victory. Here’s some analysis on their ICT ratings and how each of the quartet fared overall:

          Horses for courses: Bosingwa has not been defending well recently and I'm not sure they'll risk him against Young, I think he might bottle it on Sturridge and play one of the more experienced options (SAF would play Sturridge if he was AVB tho), Meireles - I forgot about him to be honest!

              Not being able to spot talent in youth players has always been your short coming. Osman is also an effective player, but with a striker Cahill would play there, not him.

      I'm captaining Baines over Rooney.

      I remember blindly captaining Drogba after his amazing start last season and getting burned. Rooney will be a great captain most weeks but I don't expect more than a goal or assist vs Chelsea. He can't keep scoring hat tricks every week.

    C. save the transfer.

    i should really be saving the transfer but do you guys think that i should look to get dzeko out of the team cause he is never going to be 100% starting. isnt it better to have someone who is 100% starting so that i can have the peace of mind.. he may score more goals than odem but will also have a lot less opportunity so it may balance out

    Anyone at all thinking about Dirk Kuyt long term? Looks to be first choice alongside Suarez up front and though Carroll will come into the side eventually, Suarez will likely be rested a lot as well as his summer catches up with him.

        hmm have trouble believing that. Henderson has been chosen ahead of him there so far, sometimes leaving Kuyt on the bench, plus there's gerrard to come back

    Right I have really struggled so far in FF and only did ok last week because Rooney was my backup captain behind Dzecko...

    I am trying to figure out what to do. Please RMT:

    Vorm (Hilario)
    Richards Warnock Baines (Caulker, Simpson)
    Dempsey sessegnon Moses Hoolahan (Sinclair)
    Bent Rooney Dzecko

    Thinking one sub would be enough to swap out Dempsey for Silva but thats about it...

    Wildcard sounds nice but I reckon I will regret it...

      I have Dzecko but not sure he will play.

      I would do the Dempsey - Silva Transfer but all of your players could come good perhaps give them another week then wildcard that way you could gain a bit of value through transfers during the week.

      You have four problems imo - Sessegnon, Moses, Hoolahan & Sinclair.

      Sessegnon to Kranjcar
      Bent to Agbonlahor/Sturridge
      Caulker to Ward.

      Play:
      Vorm
      Baines, Warnock, Ward
      Dempsey, Sinclair, Kranjcar, Hoolahan
      Agbonlahor, Rooney, Dzeko

      May get you enough points to afford another 8 next week ... imo. 🙂

        -8 to get them in seems like a bit of a waste..

        Kranjcar is not a guarenteed starter and spurs have liverpool this weekend.

        I think Bent will start scoring soon and I am willing to give him another chance. I think Adebayor in for him next week is most likely...

        Caulker to ward seems a bit of a waste as well seeing as I have Richards..

      Keep Sinclair. But yeah, your midfield and bench are horrible.

      I'd get rid of Moses, Sessegnon & Hoolahan - a see a lot of 2pts from them this season.
