    I've caved in getting Rooney. But I couldn't handle it if this week, when I finally got him, I give him the armband and he gives me nothing. Dzeko captain for the bloody win.

      You might kick yourself if Rooney has a 5 pointer or less game.

      I have a real gut feeling that Rooney's not going to score well so decided against him.

      I've gone Dzeko (c), but I think I would have gone Nasri or Cahill before Rooney too.

        I know, had to play safe though after making left field choices every week (Baines, Carroll and Tevez). I've only once picked the right captain, so I reckon nearly all my rivals will have Rooney (c) so it becomes a battle of the differentials - and I think I have better potential differentials than them.

          Making left-field choices and failing is all the more reason to go left-field this week. You'll feel like a mug if you go 'safe' with Rooney and he fires a blank - the one bloody time he fires he blank! That'll be the frustration.

            But still conceded against Norwich at home and at Sunderland.

            Even if Rooney fails he will be the most captained player this weekend so about 45% of FPL owners will be in the same boat.

              That doesn't sound like the nomar, i know!

              There's other players with form... it just doesn't make much sense to captain Rooney against Chelsea.

        Probs most of Rooney owners will captain him.

        RVP is a differential without (c) him. Even more so with Walcott.

        So for me it was either Silva or Rooney so settled on Rooney. Just playing the percentage game, too early in the season for major differentials needed.

      Had it as Silva and clicked to swap to Rooney in the dying seconds. Now it's changed to updating! Most likely a make or break decision for me.

            Fairly happy with him as captain though, many will have him and in a fairly decent position presently, hopefully he'll manage to wave some magic through the Chelsea defence and score his hatrick of hatricks...

            Ah I'd predicted this to be generally a low-scoring GW either way. Especially in comparison to the crazy scorelines of the previous few weeks.

            If it's Rooney, then most people will have him so if he does bad then I shouldn't lose out too much.

            If it's Silva then I guess he could be more of a risk of not playing the whole time but a weaker opposition so more of a chance of getting more points.

            Will just enjoy the games as you say though, pretty excited to see what this GW offers.

        Dzeko (c). Chelsea are a different prospect. Rooney scored two hat-tricks against an abysmal Arsenal side and a defensively poor Bolton. He may score tomorrow but 6-7 points max...

        Poeple need to think properly. Is Rooney really going to score? Also he wont score more than 2 goals max against a stern Chelsea defence. Double his points for captains and it probably won't be worth it. Silva will get more points tbh.

          Rooney home to Chelsea = 90mins and has scored in last 2 of 3 games vs Chelsea. Chelsea conceded at home to WBA & Norwich...

          Silva away to Fulham = played 90 vs Wigan & Napoli so may be taken off after 70-75mins.

          I'd say Rooney has at lease as good a chance of scoring as Silva has of getting an assist.

          By contrast, Rooney has a much better chance of an assist than Silva has of scoring.

            Sometimes its the gameweeks that you think you'll do well in that you end up stinking up the place.

            And sometimes the weeks you aren't happy with your team is the week you surprise yourself and score big.

            55 sounds like it'll be a much better than average score this week.

            I picked Silva, but I am confident it was the right choice as City are more likely to score easier against Fulham than Manu at Chelsea. And as we all know all City goals come via Silva. Manutd have Hernandez back now and with Young nice and fresh it is impossible to point out who will provide the goods.
