Anybody know who serious the Smalling injury is? Looked fine to me but seemed to go straight in to get checked.

Looks like Jones is rising tonight so is it best to get him in now rather than Smalling for .1 less (or .2 if I leave it)?

I think Young probably gets the edge FPL wise because of the set pieces.

But Nani is .4 cheaper and is playing just as well.

So yeah, either one really 😆

I'd say Nani because he's cheaper and well, he's the much better footballer.. though that doesn't always reflect in Fantasy football.

Actually on the topic of setpieces... the fact that Young always seems to tee up Rooney's freekicks at goal, and ludicrously you get an assist for that, might be worth considering.

Got exactly the same problem. I transferred Nani out for Young after Young's display v Arsenal. I think I might have made a mistake though. Young is an out-and-out winger. Nani cuts inside so much and makes runs from deep, he plays and scores like a striker. Chelsea match is a good example. I think you'll get more goals and as many assists from Nani. Now I just need to turn time back so I kept him.

had nani in week 1 swaped to young in week 2

        debate is still ongoing!

cleverly's injury helps him a bit, interesting to see val/nani and young playing

i see nani and val possible sharing the rw with CL coming... but who knows its either or atm, nani looked better today, young looked better few weeks ago

Yeah Val throws a bit of a spanner in the works, can Val/Nani/Young play every game together?

Bear in mind goals are 5pts for mids so take on greater importance relative to assists. 1 goal = 2.5 assists for mids. I think it's fair to say Nani scores more with his dribbling and mentality so try him.

-12? Bloody hell. I keep having to resist the urge to take hits but the back of my brain is always saying "you'll lose more in the long run if you don't fix your team now"... Personally I'm thinking of a -8 right now?

I might WC... + I cant afford kenny so ive ruddy at the min

I didnt take a hit this season yet, and i needed to get rid of deadwood, seriously trailing this season

            http://www.uploadscreenshot.com/image/464019/9259347

            that's my -12 team

might get rid of moses and get kenny in then ive 4.8 to spend on a midfielder... nothing too interesting though for that price

Actually a very solid looking team. I can't suggest obvious ways to improve it. I was thinking that with SWP 6.4 you could get a cheaper but well-scoring player, but no obvious options.

If this is going to be your big reshuffle, why not go for the wildcard and spend the week trading every day to make money so your squad will be better, also dodging the -12 hit? You need to last to January without another reshuffle, realistic?

the only players that will rise .2 are ade and aguero and i want to keep em! and the only 2 striker slots open since rooney vacates the other..

      follow up question:

Having checked the 4.5 mids... depressingly they're all probably as good as our friend Shane. There is Tiote... but no. If you can play prices and squeeze out another 0.1, Nathan Dyer at 4.6 is the obvious choice but I take it you already have him?

Take Mata over Nani, not really on skill but because Chelsea have considerably better next 6 fixtures and there is no-one else really to compete for Mata's position. Definite hub.

Dyer is the best cheap-o option. Bradley Johnson if you don't have the extra 0.1m, although he'll probably get sent off soon enough. Even Tiote is a better option than Shane... you want them to at least get you a couple of points if you have to play them!

Yeah, I wondered whether they might have got recognition in the new bonus system, but it doesn't look like it. Although Mikel picked up a couple of BPs in GW1 for the 0-0 with Stoke, so perhaps there's hope.

See, sadly that's almost certainly because no-one scored, hence he's ranked high enough on the "PPI Index" thingummy. Some site analyzed the PPI index and found that even though it was introduced to make bonus points less subjective, it still pretty much only cared about goals. So really it just works as an extra top-up for the points the goalscorers/assisters get anyway.

My last minute wildcard plan was foiled at the weekend by the old 11th-hour price changes... 2 rises and 1 drop meant a difference of 0.3m so I decided to abandon my plan and leave my fate in the hands of Walcott, Baines, and my captain Rooney. Oh, and my one-week punt selection- Klasnic. Clearly, I made the right call.

I say Ade is a nailed-on starter unlike Dzeko and I can see all of Spurs' play going through him as he's basically their only lethal striker. He does have mentality issues so he may burn out over the season. Try grabbing his good form now and be prepared to let him go later if he fades.

Just for the sake of argument- you could have Vorm & Ruddy, and Bosingwa, Kompany, and 3 x 4.0m... with that backline I can fit in Silva, Mata, Arteta, Anderson, Dyer, Rooney, Aguero and Sturridge (or downgrade Arteta to another mid-pricer and upgrade Sturridge to Adebayor)

I think with the upcoming fixtures a city defender could be viewed as nigh-on essential.

Really? I didn't get to see the game. Maybe I'll go with Ade for now until Sturridge has had a bit more time to settle in.

I do think he'll get more game time than Anelka/Drogba, could be a steal at 6.5m, even if he does get rotated every now and then.

I'm still not sure about sturridge. He was excellent last year and seems to be favoured by AVB this year, but he will be competing with anelka for game time. I'm preferred adebayor for last FW spot.

Arteta and Arsenal also still not impressed yet. By your approach, we can have 5 big hitters, 2 mid MF (anderson + someone) and 1 cheap MF.

It'd be good if we can fit 2 good DF rather than 4 of 4.x DF, I agree.

+1, my impression is that defences really aren't feeling it this year, and clean sheet points are so unreliable that you should go for what's wiping them out - goals/assists. This mentality is partly explained by me going for a Hughes/Senderos Fulham backline. And being owned. The lowest point was when Blackburn scored against them.

Bollocks. That teaches me for dithering, I regret that now.

Can we get the final answer on when price changes happen then? Obviously it must have happened around 4am. Yet some FISO sources say 7am or something?

      Not necessarily.
Dzeko could easily get another 4 goaler with Aguero on the bench, and Adam is up against Wolves at home.
Mata vs Swansea seems a pushover but they have been impressive all year

got a real tough one here

    A. suarez to aguero, walcott to arteta (4pt hit)

    B. if i dont do A this week then aguero is sure to rise and suarez is likely to fall as well. it will mean i will have to do the same transfer next week + another one (most likely downgrade woodgate to a 4.0 - boyata or gabidon)

both A and B include a -4 so should i just do A this week or should i hold on to walcott and suarez

Right with regards everyone buying Aguero and Adebayor...

I can understand people transfering Suarez out, even with Wolves H coming up. Liverpool aren't in form and he's been missing an awful lot of chances.

Getting rid of Dzeko on the other hand seems odd given City's form. He's played 4 PL matches and scored 8,6,21,5 yet people are getting rid? And the "subject to rotation" argument is a non-starter since the same people are bringing in Ageuro whose in the same boat, not to mention it'll likely be Tevez/Balotelli playing the midweek Carling Cup games.

Methinks it's a case of mob mentality bandwagon going on here, and that hasn't been working for many players on this site so far this season.

Liverpools lack of form is overrated. They played well against Stoke and got unlucky. Yesterday they were down to 9 men to a Tottenham squad who played very well.

Watched the match and there was absolutely no difference to how they played before or after Adam got sent off (until Skrtel went) They were rubbish from start to finish. Their only two good matches this season have been against Arsenal (nuff said) and Bolton who're usually crap away from home.

I think they'll win comfortably at the w/e, with Suarez in amongst it. Saying that, I think Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are gonna have a real tussle for 4th this season.

Both are very appealing, but it depends on who you already have imo. In my case (Suarez, Dzeko and RVP) there is no way I'm shipping any of them out with their fixtures this week.

RE: Aguero. Yes Citeh do rotation, but from the limited number of matches it seems to me that Aguero is saved for every PL match but the same doesn't necessarily apply to Dzeko. Ideally we'll have to see how it plays out as a long-term trend in the future, but that's a luxury pointseekers don't have. I suspect also that Aguero has better impact and goals-to-minutes. All of of course adding up to the eventual suggestion that Aguero is better as reflected in the maintained difference in price.

RE: Suarez. He's been wasteful but the fact remains that like Aguero he is one of those special players that can do things most strikers can't. I think it's fair to say Liverpool had an awful day at the office. But the previous 4 GWs have convinced me they have the talent to provide proper service to a world-class striker. I'm keeping faith with him for now.

I think the whole debate in the end comes down to whether you keep faith with talent or chase form. Unfortunately, you're often always 1 GW behind if you do the latter.

Finally a respectable gameweek score (61 plus BPs to come for Nani, Sinclair, Silva(?), Sess(?)). Short on transfer inspiration this week though - any suggestions? Currently thinking of saving it and playing the below:

    Ruddy
    Bosingwa, Simpson, Dunne
    Nani, Silva, Sessegnon, Moses
    RVP, Dzeko, Suarez
    Bank 0.0m

    Subs: Given, Sinclair, Brown, Senderos

    Kenny, Vorm
Jose Enrique, Jones, Ward, Simpson, De Laet
    Parker, Silva, Arteta, Brunt, Dyer
    Dzeko, Rooney, RvP
For GW 6 i want to sell RvP and Brunt for Adebayor and Nani, or i just sell Brunt for Barton, how is your opinion?

I know i'm crazy but i'm bringing in Torres for the week, he looked superb up until that humiliating miss and against Swansea he could really carve, he has one game to prove it and if he doesnt excel he becomes Aguero the next week so no harm done. The way this year has gone, I need a differential, and this could be it.

Maybe his problems really were about service and the team not being built around his game. Liverpool, Xabi Alonso -> Chelsea, Juan Mata... could be Fernando Torres Mk. II we're seeing here.

    Given
    Bosingwa R.Taylor Enrique
    Silva Mata Walcott* SWP
    Suarez Rooney Odemwingie
    0.9 in the bank.
Is it worth taking a 4 point hit to get Nani in (sure to rise and have the exact amount)
or even VDV? Or stick with Wally this week against Bolton and hope he starts, but almost certainly lose out on Walcott > Nani after that?
