While the title alludes to a debate on the merits of Kevin Campbell and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, it is instead a new podcast spilling with words on the Fantasy Football craze that’s taken the nation by storm – buy cheap at the back, buy big up front.

It’s working, in fact it’s working rather too well. Can it continue? Mark and I lay the subject down, cut it open and sift through the giblets to offer our post mortem. Messy stuff.

Elsewhere, the minutes are filled with more discussion on the fixtures vs form argument, with the usual regulars scattered liberally.

      Who are you talking to that they need the full http://www.google.com business?

        I don't want this to be taken the wrong way but I never really rated Mark and Granville and never gave much heed to anything they said. I figured they were probably 50k in the world type players. So I was pretty surprised when I looked at their respective finishes/histories. They both have pretty decent scores, particularly Mark.
        Having said that, I would like if they brought some 'experts' onto the show. Someone like Hancockjnr frokm Fiso who has a siiiiick record http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/61881/history/
        All his posts on Fiso have pearls of wisdom and he clearly has a superior approach to the game than most.
        He probably posts on here too?

            Like I said, I was surprised that their scores were as good as they are. I'm saying that I underestimated them, I accept that. And I apologise if it appears I'm attacking them.
            I'm just saying that (occasionally) getting on a fresh viewpoint from other very good players might be interesting.

    Given (Rudd)
    Collins, Brown, DeLaet (Cahill, Simpson)
    Cabaye, Silva, Taarabt, Phillips (Hoolahan)
    Aguero, Suarez, Rooney

    0.9 in bank.

    Should I start Vorm or Given in goal this GW? Already have Barton (which probably doesn't make any difference whatsoever) so I think I'll chance Vorm. He could have alot of saves to make and with Torres taking shots on him, he could sneak a cleanie too (A bit ambitious I know but I'm still hopefull). What you think?

    Current squad:

    Given, vorm
    Clichy, mertesacker, simpson, brown, bosingwa
    Young, silva, brunt, moses, mata
    Bent, suarez, a johnson.

    2 transfers, 0M in bank.

    I'm thinking if taking a 4 pt hit, 3 options:

    1) bent to aguero, johnson to best, silva to arteta
    2) bent to aguero, johnson to best, brunt to dyer
    2) bent to dzeko, johnson to best, brunt to wright-phillips

    Quick question before bed time as to the most likely transfer to pay off this weekend....

    a. Larsson for Anderson (other mids are Silva, Young, Walcott & Taarabt)
    b. Bendtner for Long (other fwd's Dzeko and Adebayor)
    c. Save transfer for next week

    If I go with c) which do I play, Anderson or Long? I've had Long since GW1 and didn't play him when he scored, played him when he didn't...

      C - yes.

      Play Long but why have a £6.0M mid if you're gonna bench him. Downgrade him to Dyer as Silva, Young, Walcott & Taarabt is a very expensive midfield already.

      Blimey. You need Young, Silva or Toure. This is going to hurt you more than it hurts me: Suarez out for a cheapie. Kompany too, imo.

        Toure? 😯

        Nani or Young will be making an appearance next week for sure. Suarez, I'm not sure I can let go, agree on Kompany tho, he's on the chopping block.

        I think I'm being too patient with players this year, the fear of my ousting them and them scoring well is what's stopping me.

        Im really stuck! 🙁

            Not convinced that's gonna really help him, City at the moment:

            -------Yaya Barry-------
            Silva--- Aguero ---Nasri
            -----------Dzeko----------

            When De Jong is back, surely it's gonna be Barry out, so Yaya is still gonna be playing a deeper role, he'll still get forward every now and again but Nasri signing ruined his attacking FPL potential IMO. Choosing Yaya over any of that front 4 is bananas IMO.

            I did think about this but that was when I was going 3 big hitters 2 dirt cheapies in midfield but I can't get it to work. I was planning 2 big hitters and 3 around the 6m mark, Johnson doesnt fit in that.

      No reason for him not too, also Brunt played 90 minutes midweek and scored so he looks OK to start at the weekend

        Absolutely every reason he will be benched
        He has been a liability for four weeks, then was dropped last game and they won. Can see an unchanged line up for sure

    Is it crazy to dump theo?

    Krul/(Vorm)
    STaylor/Warnock/Bosingwa/(Baines/DeLait)
    Silva/Walcott/Sinclair/Moses/(Vukic)
    Suarez(c)/Rooney/Dzeko(vc)

      you're benching an 8 mil defender??? either play him or transfer him out! (and then consider using the extra cash and a hit to upgrade de laet or walcott or someone else)

      Worst case scenario - Utd & City don't score, Blackburn score, Chelsea score. Sunderland away from home so may concede and Villa may score even without Bent & Heskey.

      Risky but could pay off.

          Lol, of course not 🙂

          However, it is for his team as he's playing Simpson & R Taylor. It is a possibility as Blackburn scored 4 vs Arsenal.

          The risk outweigh the rewards tbh. Only takes 1 poor result from Utd, City & Newcastle to derail your team. Though going by form it's understandable.

    My team at the moment

    Krul, (Vorm)
    Taylor S, De laet, Jose Enrique, Kompany, (Ward)
    Silva, Young, Walcott, (Dyer, Jarvis)
    Suarez, Rooney, Holt

    was thinking one of these choices
    A) Suarez -> Adebayor
    B) Holt -> Best
    C) Jarvis -> Modric
    D) Walcott -> Mata

    Looking to make two subs but i will make a third if necessary.
    Any Ideas Welcome 🙂

      Go with best and mata, tbf Suarez will score this wk, but I've always questioned modric in ff terms, his points to price is not great value, he always seems to be the assist b4 the assist!
