While the title alludes to a debate on the merits of Kevin Campbell and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, it is instead a new podcast spilling with words on the Fantasy Football craze that’s taken the nation by storm – buy cheap at the back, buy big up front.

It’s working, in fact it’s working rather too well. Can it continue? Mark and I lay the subject down, cut it open and sift through the giblets to offer our post mortem. Messy stuff.

Elsewhere, the minutes are filled with more discussion on the fixtures vs form argument, with the usual regulars scattered liberally.

Simpson, Bossie and... ehhh... maybe Evans? Toss-up between him and Enrique.

Probably lean towards Evans myself, and have Enrique as first defensive sub.

    Given (Vorm)
    Bosingwa (Jagielka R.Johnson) Brown Simpson
    Young Silva Barton (Sinclair) Moses
    Rooney Suarez Adebayor
I did Dzeko Brunt>Adebayor Barton this GW
with next transfers to be Jag and Johnson out
    for 2 of Kompany/Jones/Enrique/Gibbs/Assou-Ekotto

Mouse cursor moving ever closer to the WC button.

On minus -0.2 I have this

    Given, Vorm
    Bosingwa, Ward, Brown, Simpson, Boyata
    Nani, Silva, Arteta, Moses, Dyer
    Rooney, Aguero, Adebayor

Where do I shave off those -0.2?

i think thats a too simple solution. newcastle defense will start leaking soon, while Given will be in the top 4 keepers come the spring. hes a steal.

so then i am left with ward or brown, which means ward. heh

How much can you sell Ward for? If you've only bought him this week at 4.8 then you could downgrade Given to Krul and which gives you 0.4 spare, enough to upgrade Ward to Warnock/Hutton and give you your 0.2.

And if you bought Ward earlier and can only get 4.7 for him then you could make up the extra 0.1 by swapping Brown for Bramble.

It's not necessarily, you will potentially get assists too but then keepers can get save points. My point was just that you can then get the money out of Given without losing Villa coverage in your defence. I like the Krul-Vorm rotation, it's what I've gone for so I'm biased...

You seem pretty set on Given though, so you're back to downgrading Ward, which is a fair enough shout. The only plus I can see with Warnock over Given is that you have to play 3 defenders at least every week and I'd argue that since the rest of your defence is pretty budget (barring Bosingwa) it wouldn't hurt you to get a bit more dependability in your backline.

So I've already made my transfers for the week but I can't fight the urge to tinker further. Please help me re-gain my sanity!. I'm thinking of getting rid of Odem because WBA have been less than impressive to say the least thus far but he does have good fixtures coming up. Surely not worth a hit right?! Possibly for Bendtner or Agbonlahor if Bent/Heskey are out? Have 0.8 in the bank and currently lined up like this:

    GK: Krul

DEF: Bosingwa - Hutton - De Laet (if he plays)

MID: Silva - Mata - Arteta - Taarabt

FWD: Rooney - Adebayor - Odemwingie

BENCH: Vorm - Ward - Sinclair - Hughes

    BANK: 0.8 M

Is "my wife" crazy to be considering captaining Best in my, sorry I mean her, fantasy team this weekend? I've got a funny feeling we might do really well against Blackburn and if we do, he should be amongst the goals.

Other options are Aguero (may be rotated), Rooney (away to stoke), Walcott (a bit crap)

Who wants to talk me out of it?

PS I am in no way suggesting that Best can be even mentioned in the same breath as Aguero and Rooney, I just think that he might be the best option this weekend.

Its not like we are talking about weakening the team that much if they rest aguero. Where talking about bringing in one of the best strikers in the premier league in his place. Going on what Mancini said about 3 days rest not being enough, i'm guessing (hoping?) that he will be rested. They could always bring him on for the last half hour if they aren't winning.

But surely if you are going to use ANY premier league game to give some playing time to your squad players in order to keep them sweet, it would be norwich at home? Or do we see no rotation at all at man utd other than for the domestic cups?

Plus, Rooney/Nani/Young are all rising in price and dont look like stopping.
SAF clearly favours the PL to doing well in the CL (for now, as their group stage is easy) so the bigger name players won't get rested until later on...once they progress to knockout stages of Champions League

    1. Given to Krul (I have Vorm)
    2. S.Taylor to Simpson
    3. Sinclair to Dyer

    My current team is:

NTI= net transfers in. Go to http://www.fiso.co.uk/crackthecode.php and you can see when players will rise and (with slightly less accuracy) fall in price. It's a very handy tool, but may lead you to get obsessed with price changes!

WTF these price changes are a nightmare. Too unpredictable and volatile!
I did my transfers early as I can't afford any rises or drops with the inflated market this year. Young doesn't rise and yet I give Sess another chance and out of nowhere drops again! FISO and Total are becoming unreliable. I like the price changes, but I can't afford to be patient with players because of the fluctuating market. FFS!

Why would he rise when he is at 96 or something?

Well Leysh claimed yesterday, he was going to rise. I asked as I wasn't sure. No Sess indicator otherwise I would have got rid of him instead of Brunt.

Corri, in future, it would be as well to look at the number, rather than the percentage, next to the players name. Cross reference with ownership in your "transfers" window, and you will have an idea of the rate of the rise/fall of your player. I was guessing that Sessegnon was going to fall last night, since one of my oppo's has him, and was also waiting on a transfer ...

As a fellow hacked off Sess owner I agree. Hope he goes mental on Monday night so the kneejerkers will bring him back in again - unlikely though - grr!!

I agree Corrigan, i've played FPL for 4 years now and this season is all over the place in terms of fast and big rises, and how unpredictable they are.
I can only guess that it's due to the high volume of players now.
I wanted to bring Adebayor in on Monday as i knew he'd rise, in past seasons you'd atleast have a day to make the trade. I went online to find he had risen 0.1 by 5am Monday morning!!

Fiso is pretty spot on with the rises it seems, but the falls are very unpredictable. Been stung on that a few times. Young will definitely rise before Saturday though.

Yeah i've always used Fiso, been reliable in the past and more accurate than Total FPL.

Both sites are a bit off with Falls but pretty accurate on rises....I don't get why people moan about it so often when they are a free site used as a guideline for rises/falls
