A game for the (fantasy) football die-hards tonight, as Norwich City play host to Sunderland in the Gameweek six finale. Whilst Gary Neville has been fiddling with his gadgets for the best part of an hour, the Dugout Discussion has just opened for the late shift, and if you’ve just tuned in the team news from Carrow Road is as follows…

Norwich XI: Ruddy, Naughton, Russell Martin, Barnett, Tierney, Bennett, Bradley Johnson, Fox, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Morison.

Sunderland XI: Mignolet, O’Shea, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Elmohamady, Larsson, Gardner, Vaughan, Bendtner, Sessegnon.

Both Paul Lambert and Steve Bruce have the rare luxury of naming an unchanged eleven. That means Wes Hoolahan continues in an advanced position, whilst Grant Holt sits on the pine for the Canaries. Big summer signings John O’Shea, Wes Brown and Niklas Bendtner all start for the Black Cats.

Take a pew in the Dugout Discussion, and let’s hope for an entertaining edition of Monday Night Football.

With Wilshere facing a long spell on the sidelines, is Ramsey decent value at 6.3m? Thinking about Dzeko & Sess -> Adebayor & Ramsey this week (for free). Any better options out there?

    Given, Ruddy
    Bosingwa, Dunne, Brown, Simpson, Senderos
    Silva, Nani, Sinclair, Sessegnon, Moses
    RVP, Suarez, Dzeko

Dear Lord of BPs, just before I pop off to bed, I thought I would just say please don't give Hoolahan any this week because it will cost me my game in FFS H2H reserve league. Thank you for listening, and if you feel you must give him points I would ask you to consider how it might be walking round with your scrotum wrapped round your ears. 🙂

Senderos hasn't played in 2 games - not sure why, but = 'risk'
      Rooney = injury risk
Given's "defense" just won't let him get a CS
Dzeko is a wildcard, likely to play - but only Aguero seems nailed-on.

You on a WC? Free trades?

Right now, you'll have to play one of Moses, Johnson, or Graham.

He won't lose anything on Rooney if he bought him at 12m as he has to go to 12.3 to lose profit (That won't happen) and Sess is only on 35% to drop. Wait as long as possible then.

I have both as well. Ugh.

Fixture says keep Sess, home to Brom. Moses plays away at Villa.

But Sess didn't seem - again - to be able to score in a House of Ill Repute with a fistful of gold coins ... even vs. Norwich. Not good.

Sess is surely the easier of the two to ship out, as his value is higher ... but he only has 1.2% ownership vs. Moses' 3.3, which Sess is less likely to drop faster than Moses.

Argh. Let me know what you decide and I can stop banging my head on the table.

Would be keen to hear some opinions on this one....

Want to get Aguero in, should I

    A) Take Rooney out, and then make the Dzeko to Rooney upgrade later (possibly losing money).

    B) Take Dzeko out, and keep Rooney despite him being a big doubt.

    C) Wait and see, and almost certainly lose money (possibly even too much to make the switch).

      If money's that tight - A.

I doubt Rooney will score 3 vs. Liv, City, and/or Eve - so your 'Rooney exposure' is one week vs. Nor, worst-case scenario.

Aguero seems as important as Roon, right now. Although RVP might be a good shout/differential, too.

Plus, A means no stress ... B/C means you spending days on anxiety and prayer.

It does definitely seem to be a bit strangely weighted. But if it was different (i.e. points for shots on or off target), in another game someone might be better rated for firing in loads of terrible no hopers (and generally playing badly).

Anything based on cold hard statistics is without the benefit of human interpretation - and so any common sense. I personally think that is what it comes down too - you can't always express how good a player was by looking solely at the numbers.

if you make a great tackle/interception, beat 2 players then hit the post from 30 yards you get minus points. whereas if you receive the ball in the area and completely scuff your shot which then trickles to the keeper you get plus points

I agree. Much of the enjoyment of the game for me was the immediated feedback. Like horse racing. You can tell the winners from the losers instantly. I'm very impatient, and by the next day my life interrupts my fantasy world. I can live with the unexpected awards, just not the delay. Take this week for example, I won't know if I won or loss until sometime tomorrow. What used to be a weekend escape now turns into a four day ordeal.

I agree but the delay is not the worst part for me. Surely the whole idea behind bonus points is to reward players who have performed well but whose performance may not necessarily have been reflected in concrete stats like goals/assists. The fact that they are now driven by precisely those stats just defeats the purpose - the rich get richer.

No JR, not before the international break, do it then if you must. Too late this week to earn from it. Your team will struggle through, Wildcard Saturday lunchtime and you have to, two weeks to chop and change, could even add half a mil or more to your net value.

Who's likely to score more this GW:

    a) Adebayor
    b) Dzeko

Currently have Dzeko and will probably swap him for Adebayor shortly, but Blackburn could be a goal fest for City...

Dzeko for sure, think there is a possibility that Aguero gets rested for the Blackburn game and he might shine.

Hiya lads, can anyone spot where i was going wrong with this team? apart from the obvious torres incident lol.

    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/273866/history/

I have swapped rooney & torres for aguero and van persie now.

    So it is now:

    Given (ruddy)

Enrique - Simpson - Jones (De Laet, N.Taylor)

Mata - Young - Meireles - Nasri (Ferguson)

Aguero - Van Persie - Best

Any opinions on that team as it stands now and reckoning for this gameweek?

Help would be very much appreciated, thanks a lot 🙂

Think your team looks pretty good atm mate, it has been so unpredictable on these GWs its unbelievable... you think you have a great team but it does nothing on the day (Makes me angry).

Think ur defence wont get much for this weekend fixtures, except Jones but otherwise it should provide you with quite a few points. Who you making captain?

Cheers man, ya know mate i'm so glad you've thought that, as i though exactly the same thing, i really like it, but as you say it's just been so unpredictable through these GWs, so good to know im not going crazy lol.

I agree with the defence but willing to leave that until international break is over i guess.

As for the captain choice i could go safe and slam it on aguero, but i have a strog feeling about van persie, as i see not many people risking it to but the armband on him against an in-form tottenham, mata seems a good option providing he pulls the goods out, or even young against norwich!

looks capable this gw of good points as u mention, bu the cap choice is hard. may very well put it on van persie...craziness? 🙂

Mate I've been going mental so much, looking at my team and just saying what the hell is going on, on paper it looks like i have a good team but its always different on the day!

I have a feeling that Aguero may get rested for the Blackburn game, as he will be playing tonight for sure. So i think it gives way for Dzeko and Balotelli/Tevez against Blackburn. Mata doesn't seem a great option for captaincy, i personally would go with young thinking he would assist/score against norwich especially at old trafford.

Van Persie seems a crazzyyy choice, but if you feel like it and knowing how unpredictable it has been go for it! I think Spurs has been pretty good at the back tho.

Either way mate just hope the quality teams like ours actually start getting their potential, so i can stop banging my head against the wall every weekend.

haha its just been dreadful hasn't it knowing it's a decent team your putting out yet nothing being returned, ah well, dont sweat it yet, the season is young, we have that on our side 🙂

Yeh similar feelings on the aguero topic, i've only captained a midfielder once this season and that was lampard when he got the 26 points or so that gameweek, so young could be a great shout, ya know what i may just do that actually, could pay off big time. Shall see if i have the bottle tho for van persie come friday lol.

Our teams will start scoring high mate, its just a matter of time i feel, it has to happen, know what u mean though, i have a forehead dinted curve in my wall from all the head-banging haha!

Ah well, it can only be onwards and upwards from here matey, and a good international break to re-assess things overall 🙂

Totally buddy, just gonna have a proper think over the break and hope players on my team buck their ideas up. I'm gonna get them into the fantasy changing room and shout at them for ages and it will all be different from then.

Im doing something similar I'm making Nani captain and hoping it pays dividends, seems to open up for him more when rooney aint playing. My captain choices have been awful to say the least... Need to start getting it right in my head.

Think i will end up captaining young to be honest, i think its a sensible option, and nani looks on fire so good idea for you too 🙂

      Simply an unlucky gameweek, mate.

I remember a gameweek last season where my team scored 85, which was when I finally thought I'd nailed it.

Then the same team scored 30 the next gameweek.

Your team looks good, but this season is full of surprises. Torres looked good until he went barmy......

I don't like De Laet or Merieles, but I'm hardly in a position to give any advice given my season so far.
