Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have both been passed fit to play in tomorrow’s home game with Norwich City.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s press conference has passed and the resultant news is massive for Fantasy managers, with Rooney surely an overwhelming favourite for the armband as United look to get back to winning ways before the two week international break.

“Wayne and Hernandez are fit for tomorrow. They trained very well yesterday, which is pleasing.”

His recovery from a hamstring strain has been swift, then, missing out on just two games- last week’s game at Stoke and the midweek Champions League clash with Basel- with United failing to win either match.

Rooney sits on 43.6% Fantasy ownership but has been sold in the tens of thousands this week, with many assuming Fergie wouldn’t risk him with tough games against Liverpool and Man City just around the corner.

Those who have sold on will be ruing the decision; Rooney has scored in every game this season, racking up 59 points in just five league games and with the game kicking off at 3pm tomorrow, it’ll be a long and uncomfortable Saturday afternoon for those Fantasy managers without his services.

Those who sat tight will no doubt be smiling in anticipation of a possibly substantial points haul already.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Ouch. that is a real stinger. If he is fit I can't see Ferguson resting him, because there is an international fixture so not like hes going to gain much out of it... hope springs eternal that he decides to play berbatov alone up front, flanked by Macheda, Owen and Diouf with Nani as there only recognised midfielder. Probably still win.

thats exactly the point... 'I can't see Ferguson resting him... not like hes going to gain much out of it'- I'm not an expert in the realm of face technology but your face seems to imply a sarcasm which is actually backing up my point. Ironic Sarcasm, does such a thing exist?

In light of the update - Rooney (C) or Nani (C) ?

I sold Rooney, I'm not that bothered by this news (though it's clearly a nuisance/pain/waste).

Rooney vs Norwich / Aguero vs Blackburn.

Two great players against two shitters of teams, I was going to not have one either way. Happy enough to have the cheaper one with a better run of fixtures.

Not just this GW either. Over the next 4 fixtures I think Aguero will score more points.

I just hope he keeps quiet until GW11 when I may bring him back in.

I don't see Rooney outscoring RVP after this gameweek. For those who have made the change of shifting him out, as long as you had replaced him with RVP or Aguero, due to Rooney's fixtures I don't see him scoring too many

I am historically a knee-jerker. Too many transfers last season cost me my mini league. This season I promised to be stronger, grow bigger hairy ones and think before I act. Last night I was so tempted to beat the Rooney drop and transfer him out, but resisted.

I've shown faith in you Wayne, now show me some son.

And come on the Saints v Watford!!

I did Walcott > VDV too so needed to do it last night.

I see Aguero as being just as good value over the next 4 GWs anyway, so no harm done overall.

I suppose Rooney might come off at 2-0 something like that. Its quite likely he will have been involved in either or both of those goals but the game could end up 3-0, 4-0 etc with Nani probably still on the pitch, he could be a wiser choice.

I was looking at Norwich's defensive record (to try and give myself cold comfort the other night, just in case) and it's surprisingly okay.

They're very much mid-table for goals conceded and only conceded more than once in a game after their goalkeeper got sent off away at Chelsea. I'll be hoping that continues.

Thats fair enough but United have p*ssed on a lot of defensive records already this season, im a firm believer in anything can happen in football etc but after the Stoke & Basel games, United will bounce back and i think they'll trounce Norwich.

I ve got RVP and no Rooney.

Do you think it's worth transfering him in even though he's got Tottenham - always a goal fest then two easy-ish home games.

it'd cost me at least 4 pts in transfers

If he´s gonna play Wayne he´s certainly not gonna bu//sh·t around and play chich. Could be wrong but my bet is he´s gonna pour it on, and get them out.

I'm also playing Ward over Simpson due to the home fixture and Ward's greater attacking potential.

I've got Barton and Dyer too, and am currently playing Dyer and benching Barton. It's a tricky decision, because although QPR & Swansea rotate perfectly, QPR look much better away from home as a counter-attacking unit and seem to struggle at home when they have to dictate the game.

If you can do a strightforward 1-transfer Mata to Nani then it might be worth it, otherwise perhaps use one of your frees doing something with your defence and sit tight with the other? Many are happy with just Bos for Chelsea.

Is it worth doing Dzeko - Suarez for a hit?

Will Dzeko start now he's kissed and made up with Mancini?

        Balls.

Still, Rooney & Arteta -> Hernandez & Nani may yet be a shrewd (jammy) move.

Never be too quick to celebrate or be upset, I recall Attila being over the moon when Tevez came in for a game only to miss a penalty and generally be pants. Here's hoping Rooney can mess things up in a similar fashion.

I already suffered through that Tevez fiasco now you're wishing that on me too?

Not you specifically, any git who still has Rooney!

Your Tevez incident was just the first example which came to mind! 😀

Can't see lightning striking twice. I'm sure the groundsman's been on penalty spot duty.

If Ruddy's got any sense he'll be doing a vigorous warm up in extra long studs on that spot!

Everyone is sad that they sold Rooney, but it's ok because they have Aguero.

I have both, so I win, right?

Yeah massive mind games to unsettle title rivals Norwich. 😛

I know what you mean though, Fergie is generally full of shit.

You can't trust a word SAF says. The key was rooney's tweet saying he hoped to be fit for the CL.

          +1

Mancini: "Dzeko has earned a reprieve through his humility and penitance. And Balotelli has just stolen a bus and driven into a canal because he was bored."
